I didn't know it was so cold
Who: Tessa, Jackson, and Troy a little later (plus familiars, potentially)
Where: Troy's apartment above the dojo
When: Later afternoon
Troy was hurt. Troy was hurt. The thought was so foreign that Tessa was having a hard time wrapping her brain around that. Seeing as she was off, and Troy had never called her to help at the dojo, she would have never thought anything was wrong if Jackson hadn't texted her. At least her brother had a friend there to help, to make sure he was okay. If he was okay, that was. It wasn't like Tessa knew any magic or healing techniques besides some basic first aid and CPR she'd learned in order to teach. She'd never thought she'd have to use it, though, much less on her own brother.
Of the two of them, Troy was her rock. The strong one. The one who never faltered, who picked her up when she fell, who was always there for her. He wasn't supposed to get hurt. And when Jackson said it looked he'd been bitten? It was all Tessa could do not to freak out via text message, because she was doing enough of it in person. Troy was a better fighter than she was - surely he could have taken anyone down, even if he'd been caught by surprise. You need to stop worrying, Inaki said from the passenger seat of her car, sounding a whole hell of a lot calmer than Tessa felt. Troy will be fine. Once you see him, you will feel better.
Tessa didn't answer, because if she did she would have started crying. She was worried, she was scared, but beyond all that, she was angry. No one hurt her brother and got away with it. And an angry Tessa was a force to be reckoned with, once she figured out the right way to channel what she was feeling. Pulling up to the dojo and Troy's apartment, she barely waited for Inaki to join her before heading inside. The state of the dojo, even though Jackson had warned her that it was a wreck, still caught her off guard. Even Inaki was quiet, taking it all in. First they went after Troy, and then they fucked with the dojo, his baby, his pride and joy, too? This shit did not sit well with Tessa, at all. And she didn't see why it should, either.
She didn't bother to knock on the apartment door, knowing that she had a key and that Jackson, at least, knew she was on her way. She caught sight of Jackson first as she let herself in, not hesitating to come right up to the other man, Inaki trailing behind her. "Troy," her voice shook a little, but all things considered she was sure she was allowed, "where is he?"
