Like mother like daugh- wait, what?
Who: Bella, Linnea and Satu
Where: Seeds of Beauty
When: 2:30 p.m.
'Horrible' was not the right word to describe what the previous day had been like. Linnea may not have attended the march where everything had gone so terribly, horribly wrong, but her children and other people that she knew had. She had been worried about every single one of them and it turned out that she had been right to worry; Dagmar and Satu had been hurt. Dagmar so badly that she was not allowed to leave the hospital. Which was why Linnea had waited until Satu was awake to tell her daughter to get dressed because they were going to visit Dagmar. No, she did not care that Satu wanted to lay down because visiting Dagmar was important. Satu's head probably did not even hurt. Linnea did not want to disbelieve her daughter, but she had known Satu for her entire life and the girl did have a tendency to dramatize when she thought it would get her sympathy or more attention. Unfortunately for her it was not working today. They were both going to see Dagmar and hopefully they would find that she was making a swift recovery. It was times like this - and this was the second thanks to Kajsa's car accident that had landed her in the hospital earlier that very same summer - that Linnea wished her family were were's just for the bonus of speedy healing. Or that Jokull had been a white witch so that the good sort of healing magic ran in the family instead of the sort that used people's blood to do what she viewed as unspeakable things.
"Do you think that your sister would like some flowers?" Linnea asked. It was not really a question since she was already pulling the car over and putting it into park, but she thought that it was better to say something than to just stop and get out. "Come along, Satu, you can help me pick them out. We'll put them in that little water fountain." As though Linnea could allow one of her children to be in the hospital without getting them something that would remind them of home. And their element. And yes, she would have done much the same thing for Kajsa or Valterri. Even though they were non water elementals they were still used to living in a home where they were surrounded by the soothing sound of it. Linnea thought it would be a terrible world if one had to live without the sound of water trickling or bubbling most of the time. Especially when it was time to sleep. Oh I hope that she slept alright! Straightening her blouse, Linnea reached out to smooth down an unruly piece of her youngest daughter's hair, her stomach giving a suddenly unpleasant lurch. Linnea stopped for a moment, hand going to the doorframe to balance herself as she waited for it to pass. Morning sickness had not been a problem for her for her past three pregnancies and it was not even morning, but afternoon! With Leif and Kajsa she had always been ill well before eleven... ugh. Linnea gave herself a slight shake and straightened with a silent admonishment directed towards her stomach. Now was decidedly not the time. "Satu, be a dear and help me pick out something that your sister will like. I haven't been in a flower shop in forever." Glancing up, she offered a brief smile to the nearest woman. "And don't sulk about and drag your feet or we'll just be here longer."
