Maybe I'm just dreaming out-loud
Who: Open to all Elias's
Where: Elias home
When: Afternoon
Sandwiches could be a little too difficult for Aurora's liking. All that she wanted to do was make one completely on her own so that she did not have to ask for help, and yet she was having a considerable amount of difficulty with it. For one, she had taken longer than she thought necessary to locate the bread since someone had moved it from the counter into the fridge. For two, the peanut butter jar was not opening and when it did she realized that she had the jelly and not the peanut butter at all and she did not want jelly. She wanted peanut butter, banana slices and the little bits of marshmallow. Jelly would ruin all of that. Yet she had the jar of jelly and could not find the peanut butter. Biting her lip, feeling her face beginning to fall into something very much like a pout, Aurora was ready to give in and call out for her twin or mother or Cheila or whoever might be nearest, when there was a tapping at the window. Even though turning would not help her any, Aurora still turned her head and waited. It could be a branch or a bird or -
'Let me in.'
-her familiar. Grinning, almost forgetting that she was at all disappointed, Aurora maneuvered through the kitchen and felt along the window until she felt the latch and opened it. A rush of warm air circled her as her owl flew in and landed, from the sounds of it, on the counter. "I was wondering where you were," Aurora informed the owl as she closed the window again. Although she did like the feeling of fresh air blowing, it was warmer out there than in here and she liked the cool just a little bit more. Her dress did not try to stick to her skin that way. "I can't find the peanut butter."
'I could hear you thinking from where I was sleeping. You were upset.' Though Neveah's voice was as detached as always, Aurora was still certain that her familiar had been concerned for her and that was the whole reason that she had come to the window. 'Third cupboard over from the sink, going right. First shelf, a little further back.' Aurora instantly followed the directions that she was given, fingers closing around the jar as Neveah told her to go a little further back. Unscrewing the top she beamed brightly at her familiar when she smelled the peanut butter. 'The bananas are hanging on that funny thing by the sink and the marshmallows... Cheila put them in the high cupboard last time. Be careful getting them.' Aurora never questioned the directions and by the time she had gotten it all together she was just delighted that she had managed to do it by herself. Well, almost. She had needed her familiar's help, but it was different to get Neveah to help her than it was to get anyone else. The elemental was just about to cut the sandwich in half and go see if Aetheria wanted to share with her - she would not want to keep all the deliciousness to herself - when she heard the doorbell. 'I don't know who it is, but you're the closest.'
Shrugging, Aurora took a bite out of the sandwich and made her way to the door, easily avoiding the now-familiar obstacles that were in her way. She reached out carefully, sliding her fingers over the handle so that she could twist it open before pulling in. It never once occurred to her that she should have someone look before she did that. Why would anyone come to hurt them? "Hello!" Aurora chirped brightly.
