This territory goes uncharted
Who: Jadyn, Kristen and Missy
Where: Peloe home
When: Early evening
Kristen and Missy had had a long talk that was entitled 'things that I won't tell my sister's girlfriend. Oh, or anyone for that matter.' It had been had several times in the past few days, anytime that Kristen appeared in the slightest sulky because Missy knew her sister. Kristen was the sort to threaten to bring something up for no reason other than it would get her some sort of attention. She had never used to be like that but she was nearing that age and all Missy really wished for on a daily basis now was her mother to be there to tell her what to do with her. Because she? Did not understand. Was going to mess it up terribly. Where these worries had decided to attack her from Missy was not sure, but there they were - big as life and terrifying. And doing absolutely nothing to help her keep her focus on the - oh god, did she smell something burning? Lifting her head up from the table where she had been trying to maybe catch the quickest nap before the timer went off she was relieved to see that it was just... "Kristen? What are you doing?" Pointless question, answered with a glare that would have been withering if the girl had been any older, she was fixing the mistake that Missy had made before it could ruin the dinner. Even though Missy had done her best to not tell Kristen who exactly was coming over her sister still knew and she still refused to let her mess up. Most people would view that for the sweet act that it was and not harbor suspicions that Kristen was already trying to make up for something that she intended to do wrong. Missy, however, was not one of those people. Kristen was mad at her after her revelation and she would not put it past the little sheila to find a way to take it out on her with Jadyn present.
"So, little sheila," Missy declared as she stifled a yawn by taking a long sip out of her can of half-flat pop. Ugh, she needed a new one. But she knew without looking that the twelve case she had brought home with her last night was gone. Some of them she had even managed to drink before Kristen had dumped them out in the backyard. When the neighbors complained about the patch of dead grass there would be no questions about who was responsible for it. Tangling her fingers into the necklace that she had yet to change out of, Missy stood up and walked over to check on the pot on the back burner where Kristen could not quite reach. Glancing down at herself she sighed, wishing that she had thought to change right when she got home instead of flying into the kitchen to start dinner. Early dates were not a reporter's best friend. At this rate, Jadyn's going to think that I don't know how to dress like a regular person. Which, another voice pointed out as she added a few dashes of salt, was actually true. She was either dressed for work, bed or her other job and there was no really happy medium in between. "We're not going to say anything about what you found out the other day when Jadyn's here. Right?" Kristen was supposed to be past that age where she could have her loyalty purchased but Missy figured it could not hurt to try. "If you just let us have a nice dinner without... any sort of mishaps I'll get you that new easel. How's that sound?"
Mitzi was barking at the door, but the bell had yet to sound. Another minute to get that promise out of her sister. "I know you're mad at me, and I guess that you have the right to be-" In a really weird way- "But this is important to me, okay? No telling Jadyn." God alone knew how the woman would react. Sending her screaming out into the night was not on Missy's agenda for, well, ever. Demons actually came in second to keeping her sister from letting her secret out to the woman she was seeing. Her eyes flicked into the other room and then went back to Kristen with a touch more firmness in them. "And then you can go put that candle out." Kristen was every bit as aware as Missy that Jadyn was a water elemental.
