While she waited, Missy tried to compile a list of all the things that could be taken away from Kristen as part of her punishment for causing this. Her art supplies were the most obvious thing, but that would just cause an outright rebellion and she definitely did not have the energy necessary to deal with that right now. Her version of a night off was one where she did not get into some sort of a gunfight or end up wishing that she was curled up back in her bed. Tonight was supposed to have been better for that, but no, Kristen had needed to go and ruin it. If Jadyn was more stable then she'd have taken it better, Missy reasoned with herself. Not that she actually cared about the reason why Jadyn was so easily breaking - she cared about the fact that it was happening and would not have if she had not invited her over or let Kristen speak. Could you muzzle ten-year-olds?
"Thank you," Missy said when Jadyn came back towards the house. She slipped one arm around her waist to help keep her upright just in case the shaking got worse. The last thing she wanted was for Jadyn to be hurt physically in addition to the emotional stabbing that her sister had given her. And since the last thing that she wanted was for Kristen to come down despite being grounded and make things worse. So she steered Jadyn towards her room. "Do you want to try eating something? I can bring it in here if you'd like." Provided that Kristen had not decided to continue acting like a child and done something to ruin it. She was honestly just glad that Jadyn was staying. The last thing she wanted to do was let her be alone right then.
It was not like she was some sort of idiot after all - she had seen those cuts on Jadyn's arms. She had her suspicions about how they got there, too, but... now was very much not the time.
