Theo- Forward dated to Saturday, 3 pm
Julian had arranged with the parents of one of Michel's playmates for one to watch Michel while the other accompanied Julian on his call. So with Madeline Macen, Julian showed up at the hotel, promptly at 3pm. He'd brushed his hair, had his hands slapped away by Madeline every time he'd tried to put his fingers into it. He hadn't been able to be talked out of bringing a potted plant, however.

Despite having done this before, he wasn't very good at it. Twelve years out of practice too. He sent word with a maid for Theo that he was at the hotel and went to a sitting room to wait, sitting and talking with Madeline. When the door opened, he stood immediately, sketching a half-bow.

Theo thought it was admirable that Julian had come all this way to start a new life with a child and no support. It said something to him about the character of the man that Theo appreciated. "What made you decided to come to LeChance?"

"It's new, it's inventive. And I want to help." He shook his head, "Why did you?"

"I think after matching seven of my siblings the Yenta might have decided she'd had enough." There was a little humor lurking to show that Theo was joking. "I wanted something different. An adventure of sorts? It's not a safari in Africa or anything, but it's a new place and a new idea."

"I like it," he said without hestitation. "I'm happy here, I think."

"That is very good," he smiled warmly. "I think it's very important to be happy with where you are."

"And to move on if you're no longer happy?" he asked, watching Theo's face curiously.

"Would you really be unhappy with family and loved ones?"

Theo flushed lightly, "A family and loved ones of my own? No. I wouldn't. " He smiled and ducked his head a little, trying not to fidget.

Julian tipped his head to look at Theo, "Did I say something wrong?"

"No, not at all. It's something I'd very much like one day a family of my own." He glanced at Julian. "I know that I left my family, but I didn't leave them because I wasn't happy. I was."

"What do you seek from a marriage?" he asked, a lot more centered than he'd been before.

It was a significant question and Theo gave it a bit of thought before he answered. "I'd like to have a marriage that included romance and more intimate relations, but it's not necessary." He smiled lightly, "I..guess I'm a bit of a romantic really."

"There's nothing wrong with that," he said with a slight smile, warm and sincere. "A measure of intimacy helps more relationships than it harms."

'I'd like to believe that. I know that it's not needed per se, but when I consider what I'd like for myself? It includes a marriage for more than social and community reasons."
