Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Evan and Tony
What: Boozing and talking
Where: Their dormitory
When: After Tony finishes rounds
Rating: TBD

Evan had to admit, he was curious about what was on Tony’s mind. Knowing their situation, it was undoubtedly something related to his family, possibly related to his sister who was actually his girlfriend but whom he insisted was not his sister (and, okay, technically as long as his father opted not to marry Katie Bell, he was still in the clear). It was nice, quite frankly, to know that Evan wasn’t the only one in the world with a fucked up family. In fact, he was pretty sure that Tony’s family was more dramatic than his own.

He knew he’d have to get Tony to shoot down some firewhiskey before he could get much out of him, but Evan didn’t see that as being much of a problem. Besides, they could both do with some unwinding time, and alcohol was very helpful in that department so long as you kept the belligerence to a minimum.

Sighing, Evan kicked back on his bed, the shot glasses and bottle stashed safely underneath his four poster to remain undiscovered by thieving housemates and professors both. He had considered starting without his friend, but he had a feeling that would end badly. Besides, how could he remember what Tony was saying if he got completely sloshed? Instead, he showed some self control and left the bottle in its proper place until Tony arrived.

Evan was surprised to hear that Oliver Wood Sr. had made no attempt to adopt Jacob after what had happened. Maybe he had never thought it necessary, what with Jacob being ready to graduate and live on his own. Evan wondered if Marcus Sr. would have put up a fight. Judging from the fact that his keeping track of him was part of the reason he got caught, probably.

"Helena?" This was interesting news. "You could always decide to date Helena." He smirked slightly. "You know, I always thought it was too big of a conincidence that you kept falling in love with her."

Tony rolled his eyes. Of course Evan wasn't thinking about the possible consequences of manipulating girl's feelings that way.

"I can't just decide that. I don't want to hurt Piper. If it wasn't for my stupid father, I wouldn't even be thinking about this!" Tony said frustrated.

"Besides, it seems like everytime I ever have a falling out or break up with Piper I go to Helena. I doubt she'd let me do that to her again," Tony explained. And then rolled his eyes at Evan's suggestion. "That was a coincidence, and it was a pain to fix."

Of course he wasn't. In fact, Evan didn't consider it manipulating any girls' feelings at all. He wasn't exactly sensitive.

"I take it that means it's not just snogging," Evan said, frowning. "It's not like she'll want to date you if you become her brother. I mean, didn't she break up with you when she found out you shared a brother?"

As for Helena, well, Evan couldn't exactly say he understood what Tony might see in her. She was far too quiet and a bit on the dull side. Then again, she was a pureblood, and she wasn't bad looking. "I'm sure she would if you convinced her it's permanent. After all the shit I did to Jessica, she's still barmy enough to keep coming back. I don't understand it."

"Well it wasn't just snogging before we found out about Jacob," Tony said watching Evan frown. "And I know. But I don't even know if I should say anything now, since my father hasn't even told me for sure yet. I'd only overheard it mentioned. But not telling her is delaying the inevitable anyway," he said annoyed by all of it.

"I don't know why I even brought her up. I'm not interested in just jumping to one thing to another. My father ruined this for me, and as you've clearly found out, it's not been so easy for me to get over my relationship with Piper."

"Sometimes girls get into your head," Evan replied, flopping back on to his bed. "Even if you don't bloody well want them there, and you know it's not in their best interest or yours. Don't ask me how they do it, but they just worm their way in, sneaky devils." Obviously, the alcohol was beginning to hit home. "Maybe you don't want to get over her. Or some psychological bullshit along those lines."

"I don't know..." Tony said running his hands through his hair. Maybe it was the alcohol, but Evan actually sounded like he was making sense. Girls just got in his head. Piper... Helena. And then they wouldn't go away. Did Evan always have this problem? And Tony knew he juggled more than one girl around at any given time. "How can I stop it?"

"When I figure it out I'll let you know," Evan answered, frowning. "Merlin knows I've tried most everything. Avoiding her, insulting her, pawning her off on other people, shagging other girls, not shagging at all- that was pretty short-lived. She just keeps coming back up. Somehow she's always there." He looked to Tony. "We're fucked."

"You're talking about Jess, I'm guessing?" Tony asked when Evan described his own issues with girls right now. It seemed like to Tony that she was the only one Evan really let himself be concerned or care about. "We are fucked."

"Jessica Marie Vaisey," Evan groaned, flopping back on his bed. "Where did she even come from? We were friends, and then she showed up in a... hot... black... dress with that stupid red lipstick. She knew... exactly what she was doing." And she had been painfully good at it. He could still remember the creamy skin of her legs, the soft flesh at her neck... He groaned again as he willed his eyes open.

"Wood snuck up on you too, I'll bet," he said almost accusingly. "They do it on purpose! Get you when you're vulnerable and shit. Ridiculous."

"At least you know what she was doing. And you're not related to her," Tony said laying down on his back. "She just... dared me to go on a date. It seemed so simple. And I didn't even expect it to turn into anything," Tony said frustrated. "And then that stupid ball. I didn't even ask her to go. But I danced with her, and she kissed me and ran away. And then it was MY fault!" Tony said remembering the ups and downs. "But we worked that out... and it would have been all fine. Except for Jacob."

"Yeah, I knew what she was doing," he replied sarcastically. "I still don't know what the bloody hell she's doing. She's confusing as fuck, Tony. She's dating that stupid Weasel but then she keeps hinting that she's still got this thing for me, but then she wants to be friends, and fuck if I know what I want."

He smirked slightly, remembering the ball incident, how Piper had run away and left him confused as hell, but then frowned as he made the connection between Piper running and Jessica running. "Girls are always running away. And you know, if that didn't mess your relationship up, something else would. That's how these things work. You should just be glad your dad did it for you. No frustration or blame on you and Piper. It's all Dad's fault. That's a bloody brilliant way to end things, if you ask me."
