Evan had to admit, he was curious about what was on Tony’s mind. Knowing their situation, it was undoubtedly something related to his family, possibly related to his sister who was actually his girlfriend but whom he insisted was not his sister (and, okay, technically as long as his father opted not to marry Katie Bell, he was still in the clear). It was nice, quite frankly, to know that Evan wasn’t the only one in the world with a fucked up family. In fact, he was pretty sure that Tony’s family was more dramatic than his own.

He knew he’d have to get Tony to shoot down some firewhiskey before he could get much out of him, but Evan didn’t see that as being much of a problem. Besides, they could both do with some unwinding time, and alcohol was very helpful in that department so long as you kept the belligerence to a minimum.

Sighing, Evan kicked back on his bed, the shot glasses and bottle stashed safely underneath his four poster to remain undiscovered by thieving housemates and professors both. He had considered starting without his friend, but he had a feeling that would end badly. Besides, how could he remember what Tony was saying if he got completely sloshed? Instead, he showed some self control and left the bottle in its proper place until Tony arrived.

Tony came back after prefect rounds, which wasn't exactly his best since he was hardly paying attention to any wrong doers. He was thinking about Piper, about discussions between Bell and his Father over Christmas. His sister in the Hospital still... when his half brother got out in less than a week practically.

I was all annoying, and stuck in his head. He was almost willing to just blurt it out to Evan sober but... Tony had more rationale than that. He needed the liquor to loosen his tongue. To let all the truth out. About snogging Piper, and meeting up with her and how he shouldn't. And something else...

He came back to their room, and pulled off his robes and flung it over to his bed and kicked off his shoes and went over to Evan's bed and sitting down facing his friend. "Give me a drink."

Evan quirked a brow at Tony's rather blunt demands. It wasn't very like him to be so in your face about things, but Evan wasn't complaining. Beating around the bush was entirely too much effort sometimes. "Yessir," he replied with a chuckle, reaching under his bed to retrieve the bottle- three quarters full still- and the two glasses next to it. He poured Tony one and handed it to him, before taking one for himself and downing it easily. "Rough day?" he asked, feeling the warmth spread into his chest.

	Evan couldn't help himself. He let out a laugh of disbelief. "No shit? Your dad's going to marry Bell? I always figured it was one of those things that would burn out pretty quickly." He ran his finger around the rim of his empty glass. "Not a huge deal, though, right? I mean, she's already living with you and everything. Not much of a change, is it?" 	"I don't know..." Tony said running his hands through his hair. Maybe it was the alcohol, but Evan actually sounded like he was making sense. Girls just got in his head. Piper... Helena. 	"When I figure it out I'll let you know," Evan answered, frowning. "Merlin knows I've tried most everything. Avoiding her, insulting her, pawning her off on other people, shagging other girls, not shagging at all- that was pretty short-lived. She just keeps coming back up. Somehow she's always there."
