Isabella had never had to deal with this sort of thing before. The closest she'd ever come to a date was meeting Adam Pucey regularly in the library, and she'd never had to think of anything like what to wear to those before. It was easy. She just went in whatever she had on! But this was something entirely different. She was supposed to dress nicer for a date, right? Well, this wasn't a date, was it? Or maybe it was! But she didn't want to assume, and dress nicer when she shouldn't have. Then there was the fact that they were going flying, which wasn't exactly the sort of outing you dressed nicely for.

After staring at all the clothes in her posession for a good thirty minutes, Isabella finally gave up and shoved them all away, leaving her dormitory without changing out of her school uniform, broom in hand. She hoped he hadn't been waiting long for her. She had taken a bit longer than she'd planned with the whole clothing decision, but when she got there, she found no one at the quidditch pitch.

Brow furrowing, she moved to the center of the pitch, sitting down and leaning back on her hands. Was he coming? Had she come all the way out here for nothing? Technically, she supposed she could just fly by herself, but she had gotten her hopes up, and she knew it wouldn't be the same.

Isabella noticed the reaction, but when he didn't cut tail and run for dear life, she couldn't help but smile slightly. Sure, he used a different term in his answer (Isabella was also the sort of person to notice that sort of thing), but he hadn't denied it either, and he had told his sister about her! That had to mean something, right? "She was okay with it?" she asked, though she had a feeling she already knew the answer to that question. If he had told her, and he was still here, Elena obviously hadn't put her foot down. She knew he cared too much about his sister to hurt her.

"I don't... know what Kaida's going to say," she admitted quietly.

Ben rolled his neck a bit, staring up at the sky. "Yeah..that wont go over well." He knew that. Not many sisters would be happy that their little sisters were talking to Benjamin Goyle. He knew that for a fact. Who would want a boy that got drunk and kicked out of class on a daily basis? On top of the history that Kaida and Elena had, he just knew that it wasn't going to end well. For Isabella, at least, and he felt bad about that. "How much does her opinion mean to you?"

How much did her sister's opinion mean to Isabella? A lot, a whole lot, to be perfectly honest. Isabella had always been close to Kaida, and she'd always asked her for advice. She'd never kept anything from her before, and Kaida was already upset that she knew Isa was hiding something from her right now. She had told her sister that the boy's name was Ben, but she was sure it would've never occurred to her that she meant Ben Goyle.

"I like you," she blurted. "I don't... know what she'll say or how upset she'll be. But... I have to tell her. And soon."

To say that Ben was shocked when Isabella just blurted out that she liked him was an understatement. His eyes widened slightly, and he stayed very quiet for a few moments. To have it been said outloud meant..a little more than it just being in his head. He didn't even know what to say to that. Clearing his throat, he looked around again. "Well..tell her..and.." his voice trailed off. "I don't really care what she thinks, frankly."

'I like you, too'. Would've been a nice response, but Isabella knew better than to expect it from him. She'd been pleasantly surprised to even get hand-holding out of him in a fairly public place. "I care what she thinks," she said softly. "I know she was horrible to your sister, but... she's my sister, Ben, just like Elena's yours." She didn't have to say that she didn't think Ben would have dated her if Elena was dead-set against it. She didn't want to say it either, for fear of what it might mean if Kaida was against it. Would Isabella really just let it go? Would she say goodbye to Ben and spend the rest of the year trying to ignore the effect he had on her?

Or... would she try and hide it from her? Would she date him in secret? Would he let her date him in secret? It would be a definite blow to the ego, and even then... the odds of being able to keep something secret in Hogwarts were awfully low, especially with Isabella's awful lying.

Unfortunately, that response was not going to come easy from him. Still fighting it within himself, he wasn't about to admit that outloud. He might not even ever say it, just let her assume it. Did he even have to say it? He was there, wasn't he? And he had kissed her. Hopefully the kid had some common sense.

"Yeah," was his simple response. he had to understand that, Elena meant a lot to him. And although he liked to think that he would be able to like a girl even if she didn't like her (and although he might have snogged a girl she didn't like on purpose), he still would have taken her feelings into consideration. But Ben liked to think that Elena was far more reasonable than Isabella's sister was. Obviously, since Kaida was the one that had attacked Elena.

"I don't think she's exactly reasonable, though, so don't get your hopes up." He was assuming things, of course, but Ben was never very rational.

	Isabella hesitated then, pausing in her steps. She didn't let go of Ben's hand, but she wasn't looking at him. Her gaze was focused on the ground. "What if I'm not allowed to..." Her brows furrowed, and it was obvious she wasn't entirely sure of the word she was about to use. "To... see you? Doesn't that bother you at all?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Ben stopped, turning to look at her. She looked obviously upset, and that actually..hurt him. "Well, yeah, but it's not like it would stop me," he replied honestly. When did rules ever stop him? He wasn't about to not see Isabella ust because her stupid sister--whom he didn't care about--wouldn't let her. He was never going to let that stop him. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

It was the perfect thing to say, really, and as Isabella lifted her eyes to look at him, she had to wonder if he was only telling her what he thought she wanted to hear. Well, if it was so, she didn't want to know about it.

This entire thing was complete irrational. He was Ben Goyle, and he didn't like Weasleys. She was Isabella Weasley, prefect, quiet, a bookworm who could hardly put two words together let alone flirt with someone. How was the boy who admitted to snogging loads of drunken girls attracted to a girl who had only had her first kiss a few minutes ago? It didn't make sense!

But... it didn't have to make sense. She didn't care if it made sense. And that was saying something. She could only hope she could get Kaida to see it that way.

The corners of her lips tugged into a small smile, and she gave his hand a light squeeze. "Okay."

Her smile made him smile. He wasn't sure why..and it was probably going to really bother him later, but for now, it made him smile. Looking away, he took a deep breath, and then looked back at her and smiled, squeezing her hand back. He just..felt bad. He didn't want her to be stressed because of him. And although he normally didn't...care, but he did. He cared about her.

He leaned down and kissed her cheek, grinning at her, as he hoped that she would blush. "I need to teach you how to be more rebellious."

	Ben laughed at her response. (And the fact that she was blushing. Again.) "So? Prefects can be rebellious. Athena Malfoy is a prefect." He shrugged. "And you don't always have to break rules to be rebellious." He shrugged again and grinned. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"But Athena's kind of..." There wasn't a particularly nice way to put it, so Isabella gave up and went with the nicest possible word to describe the Slytherin girl. "Mean? I don't really want to be like that." Was he friends with Athena? Probably, if he had brought her up. More than friends with Athena? She was a pretty girl, a flirt for sure... "You don't?" Ben let out a loud laugh at Isabella's reaction to Athena. "I didn't mean exactly that, but you have a point." Athena was mean, and he had a feeling that she would be very against what he was doing with Isabella, but he didn't care. He actually liked Athena, she was funny, and interesting.

"No, take the example of the situation with.." he paused for a moment, "us. And your sister," he added the last part quickly. "That isn't breaking any rules."

	Isabella felt her stomach flip as he used the word 'us' like she had earlier. True, he looked slightly uncomfortable doing so, but he had! He'd referred to them as an 'us'! ...Whatever that meant. "Yes, I suppose that's true." She agreed, though it was breaking rules in a way. Social rules. Rules that went something like 'Weasleys don't date Goyles'. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

She nodded, smiling up at him. "You are," she agreed. "But I'm still... not very rebellious, you know." Sometimes she forgot how much taller than her he was until she had to tilt her head upward slightly to look him in the face. He had a handsome face, nice eyes, nice lips...

She felt her face growing hot with the thought of kissing him moments before, his lips against hers after pulling her close... She knew she was blushing, for no apparent reason no less, and she tried to brush the thought aside quickly, clearing her throat as she attempted to come up with something to say to distract him from it, to no avail. Well, wonderful.

Ben just grinned. He liked bring right, especially when she admitted it. "I can help with that," he said with a wink. He already planned on making her a bit more rebellious and less innocent.

He glanced at her again, and noticed she looked flushed, even in the dark. He really wanted to...kiss her again. And maybe a bit deeper. He moved a little closer to her, his thumb running gently against the back of her hand. He noticed her clear her throat, and he smiled. "Everything alright?"

	"Um." When he sneakily moved back into the same position they had been before they kissed, it made it nearly impossible to come up with any sort of excuse. She was a bad enough liar as it was, let alone when she was flustered by his close proximity. All she could come up with was, "Nothing," as she willed her eyes not to drop to his lips again. Ben continued to grin wide, obviously not believing her. And he was enjoying every moment of it. His eyes traveled over her face, enjoying the way her cheeks redened so perfectly, and the way the shadows were cast across her features. He was right..she really was beautiful. And she looked so nervous, the way her beautiful eyes darted away from his. She was driving him mad. This little, innocent, sixteen year old thing was driving him mad. He stepped closer to her, his face inches from hers again. He couldn't let her get to him.

Why did he keep doing that? Did he know the effect he had on her? Judging by the grin on his face, he absolutely did, but it wasn't exactly something Bella could just turn off. She was doomed to turn to mush for the rest of her days or so it seemed. He made her so nervous, nervous but excited, and she did stupid things when she was nervous, which he obviously got a kick out of.

A breeze mussed his hair, and she stretched up to fix it, careful hands putting his hair back into place.
