BACKDATED because I'm an idiot!
Who: Shane and Sam
What: Go to Hogsmeade together
When: The day of the Hogsmeade trip
Where: Meeting Sam in the courtyard and then going to Hogsmeade
Why: Cuz SHE asked him cuz he couldn't find the words to ask her.

Status: BACKDATED, in progress, and closed to all but those two.

Shane waited in the courtyard. All morning long he had paced from wall to wall of his dorm. He had changed his clothes twice and decided on jeans and a blue t-shirt. Over his shirt he wore his dark jean jacket. He went no where without it when he wore casual threads. Butterflies swarmed in his stomach. He saw he coming from the corner of his eye and looked to the sky, trying to gain composure. He would not allow himself to come off as an idiot. She probably already thought he was a dork for not getting the words to ask her out right. It took a lot for Shane to get excited over something, but very little for him to make a fool of himself. Now that he was excited and with his clumsiness mixed together, it was fated for disaster. But the sight of her made everything ok.

Shane's eyes darted towards his hand in which she held on to. He liked that gesture. He returned the squeeze and decided he would like to hold on to it a bit longer. He grinned down at her. She didn't seem to mind how wierd he was being around her. Nodding, as she told him about her main duties as a prefect, he opened his mouth to say somehting, but closed it. Two seconds later he opened it up again and actual words came out this time. "I couldn't think of anyone who would be a better prefect than you," he complimented. Shane was impressed with himself. His brain and mouth were actually working together for once.

Shane released her hand and pulled her chair our for her when they got to The Three Broomsticks. His dark eyesbrows rose when she stated she was proposing a deal. He was up for almost anything. "So I can't apologize the entire rest of the date?" He asked her, trying to understand the deal before he agreed. "Ok...Deal." Couldn't she have picked something easier? He thought it over, the deal was made. He reached out his hand for her to shake. He wondered why she would have proposed such...maybe he was getting a little annoying with his apologices. He smiled at her, showing his long,white teeth. "You are one interesting girl," he complimented. "So....what would you like...butterbeer?"

Samantha bit her lip and gazed down. Interesting girl.. What did that mean? Was it a good thing? Well, he did smile so it couldn't have been bad could it? She had hoped it was a good thing that he found her interesting.. That word seemed to follow her a lot. His question interrupted her thoughts, "Oh yes, butterbeer would be great." Samantha smiled. "Good luck trying to get Madam Rosmerta's attention," she grinned as she looked over to the witch who was taking orders from another group of students.
