Hogsmeade had, no doubt, been an enjoyable experience. Braden had gotten to stretch his legs outside of the castle walls for a bit, and meanwhile enjoy the sight of some seventh years who clearly had no control over their color-changing hair. It had a been a good time while it lasted, but now that it was over, Braden was left quite unsatisfied. The change from all that excitement to none at all was just too drastic. He'd been forced to take action, and that action had been to call upon Miss Zara Flint, whom he was certain was equally bored as he. Of course, there were others he might have called upon to join him in this adventure he had decided to set out on, but there was no one Braden liked spending time with so much as Zara Flint, though she might not know it. She was his best friend... and a bit more, not that he'd admit it.

With his pocket full of a bag of sweets he had purchased for her at Hogsmeade, Braden made his way to the Slytherin common room entrance- early, of course. Upon reaching it, he adjusted himself slightly, smoothing out his collar, dusting off a pant leg, fidgeting with his hair a bit. But that all stopped as soon as he heard the entrance opening. Braden waited for her to appear, classic Capper smile in place.

"Ah, well I hope you had fun, even if you had to be kidnapped for it." Braden supposed he had come rather close to kidnapping her on this evening, if he thought about it. He hadn't exactly asked if she wanted to come. Sometimes he wondered if he should be more proper around her. She was, after all, a lady, but also one of his best friends. He liked to think she didn't mind, but he also knew she was much too polite to speak up if she did.

"I think so. They're both a bit on the shy side, so we'll see what happens with that." He shrugged.

Braden blinked at the hand that had been offered, debating whether or not to take it. He knew things should have been the other way around, but not to take it would be rather rude of him. Praying to Merlin that his palms weren't sweaty, he reached out and took her hand. That tingle of her softer skin against his rough hands almost made him jerk back his arm in surprise, but he managed to keep composue, and putting little to no weight on her arm, he heaved himself to his feet. "Thanks."

"It was a good time." She said smiling slightly shrugging slightly. To Zara it felt as though people were always trying to drag her out, kidnap her to do things. She didn't mind, it was just that she wasn't sure what she could and couldn't do. She never had to worry about that around Braden though.

She knew perfectly well he wouldn't actually let her fully help. Zara just always felt comfortable around him. She smiled at him slightly when he was standing. "So are we looking for something? Or are we just going to wander around for fun?"

Zara looked down at her hand, it was still holding his, she finally let go, and let that hand move some of her hair behind her ear. "When are you going to go on a Hogsmeade date with someone?" She asked. Zara merely asked as a bestmate, nothing more.

"Well, this place is full of secret passages and rooms, you know. I'll bet we could find one." Braden had heard stories of all sorts of passageways: ones that went to other places in the castle, even one that went all the way to Hogsmeade! Why should they not be able to find one of those? They couldn't all have already been discovered.

Braden cleared his throat a bit awkwardly as she let go of his hand. He hadn't meant to hold on for so long; he simply hadn't thought to let go, especially while he was enjoying the feeling of her petite hand in his. "A date? What, you mean like an official one?" He shrugged in a manner he hoped appeared nonchalant. "I don't see why people make such a big deal out of it. What's wrong with going with friends?"

"I guess so." She said shrugging slightly. She figured it couldn't hurt if they found some strange way to somewhere odd. Zara wasn't really too worried about it, and if for some reason they got stuck somewhere she figured they'd at least be okay and figure something out. Zara always enjoyed spending time with Braden after all.

She gave him a bit of a puzzled look. "I don't think it really matters, but what's wrong with going with someone as a date?" She asked him tilting her head to the side. Zara couldn't help thinking that something had gone wrong, or someone had hurt him.

"Did something happen?" If he had been anyone else she would have never asked that, but she was honestly worried, and she didn't think showing it would be a bad thing. Maybe he fancied Samantha and now she was spending time with Shane?

"Nothing," he replied hastily, afraid he had offended her in some way. She hadn't had a date to Hogsmeade this past weekend, but what was to say she had never had one before? Looking back, he couldn't particularly think of one, but there had been three years of trips before this one. "There's nothing wrong with it, of course, I just think people put too much importance on it. That's all."

He had taken to trailing his hand along the wall of the corridor as he walked, waiting for it to fall through in some bizarre sort of hidden passage way. "Did something happen?" he echoed questioningly, catching her worried tone. Now she thought he was some emotionally scarred loser? Grand. "No, nothing's happened. "Er- No, at least I don't think so."

Zara hadn't been on any kind of date for a really long time, it was more likely that every single person around he was on a date and she wasn't. Zara wasn't the type of girl that would be on a date very often, she was rarely asked, and she rarely agreed. She figured by now most men gave up. Zara did her best not to think about it at all, sometimes she got jealous that her older sister always seemed to have some kind of date while she never did.

"I guess they do, but at least they have fun right?" She said shrugging slightly. "Or at least some of them do." She added quickly. She'd seen her dormmates crying about it before.

Zara frowned slightly giving him an even more worried look. "Okay." She said softly resting her hand on his arm for a moment. "If something did and you ever need to talk, I'm here." She said with a soft smile. Zara would always be there for him.

Braden preferred not to think about the girls that didn't. It got under his skin to think of blokes taking a girl to Hogsmeade in hopes of bedding her and, after realizing it wasn't going to happen, forgetting and ignoring them completely. Braden was a lover and not a fighter, but sometimes there were people that made him really want to cross the line.

And once more, that familiar buzz was upon him, this time generated from her touch on his arm. He glanced down at it momentarily, before looking up to her with a smile to match her own, though his was perhaps a bit more nervous. "There's nothing wrong, love, but if there is, you'll be the first to know about it, alright?"

As Braden's hands came into contact with a statue, he paused in his footsteps to examine it. A dancing house elf was grinning down at him, but that wasn't what interested him. Peering behind the statue, Braden could swear... "Zara, will you help me move this?" he asked her, knowing that it was probably not the most gentlemanly thing to do, but also knowing Zara was stronger than she looked.

Zara couldn't stop herself from smiling slightly. "I'm glad to hear that." She said softly. Zara was happy to do what she can to help him out, all she wanted was for him to be happy. Happy was important right? Zara looked away from him for a few moments before hearing his voice.

She had to turn around and walk back slightly to him. "What..." She said before figuring out what he said. She moved over to him and helped him push the statue out of the way. Zara didn't think that it was rude at all, she thought it was normal. Helping wasn't so bad. As she helped him push it she didn't pay attention to how far she pushed it.

Once the thing was out of the way she turned to look at Braden.

Braden took the few steps back to where the statue had been, squinting at the wall as if expecting it to suddenly change shape. When this didn't happen, Braden's hand hesitantly extended itself out toward the wall. But rather than coming to a stop as he had expected, his hand passed right through the stone up to his elbow. Wide-eyed, he stared as his half-visible arm and looked to Zara with a delighted grin. The Gryffindor looked like a kid in a candy store at that moment. "Brilliant!"

Of course, Braden hadn't taken into consideration that this... hole in the wall, or whatever it was, could be a one way sort of thing, that whatever went through could, in fact, get stuck there. That was the problem with the Gryffindor courage; it tended to make them do things without much forethought. As such, he looked not in the least bit worried and extended his arm all the way up to his shoulder, feeling nothing but air. "I think we've found one!"

"If we get stuck in there I'm going to blame you forever." She said watching his excitement. As much as her rational thinking was telling her to tell him no... He looked much to excited for his own good. Zara couldn't d anything to hurt that, he was happy. That was all that mattered. Although if she was stuck with someone odd like this, at least it was someone she got along with and liked.

"Lead the way." She said with a half uneasy look but a smile all of the same. It seemed important to her, and she wasn't going to think about it. She glanced at the statue and she was positive it had just smirked at her. If it really was a passage there had probably been an easier way to move the statue. She wasn't going to worry about it though.

Hey, if they got stuck in there, he was going to blame himself forever, but he wasn't worried as he hesitantly poked his head through the wall. It was a dark tunnel, and he had to mutter a quiet 'lumos' to see anything, though there wasn't an awful lot to see, only more tunnel.

"Zara!" he called out to her through the wall, though he probably needn't have called so loud as she was only a foot or so away. "It's okay, come on!" His hand extended back out through the brick (which must have been an odd sight for Zara) to take hers.

Zara couldn't stop the smirk from her face as she watched Braden head into the wall. Even though she was used to it, it still looked really weird to her in some ways. She smiled when he called a bit loudly, but he was excited, she wasn't going to deny him that.

She took his hand when she saw it come out of the wall. She figured that was what he wanted, or what as expected. Honestly sometimes Zara didn't have a clue. However she was actually a little bit excited about all of this. It wasn't a typical day for her at all but she did enjoy it. She took a step into the wall and looked over at Braden with a soft smile. "Well, I guess we should start forward." She said taking a few steps.

Grinning at the feel of her hand once again in his, Braden took a hesitant step forward, as if the floor was going to do some sort of bizarre Indiana Jones stunt and disappear on him. When it didn't, however, he slowly but surely pressed onward, casting a look back over his shoulder at Zara every now and then.

"D'you think other people know about this?" he asked her, squinting ahead.

"Someone is bound to know about it, but probably not too many." She said softly not letting go of his hand. She'd never admit to it out loud but she was slightly worried, and a little bit of comfort wasn't terrible was it? She just hoped that he didn't mind.

"But I don't know if anyone at school right now does." She said looking at the wall before looking forward as she walked semi slowly, at least if either of them stepped in something they weren't alone.

The thought of being the only one in the entire school to know about what might be at the end of this passageway was enough to make Braden feel almost giddy. His Gryffindor spirit couldn't help but thirst for adventure. If he had lived in earlier years, he undoubtedly would have been an explorer.

After a bit of walking, during which Braden opted to continue holding Zara's hand- for safety reasons, of course- the Gryffindor boy suddenly piped up, "Look at that! Light! We must be near the end!"

She hadn't thought about much. She just sort of walked with him. It was sort of relaxing. She loved the fact that she could spend time with Braden and not say a word. To Zara it was almost more important at times. The moments without words were those that mattered the most to her. She'd never live without the good quiet moments.

She looked up as he spoke. She just smiled as she squeezed his hand. She didn't want to speak. She wanted to make sure he knew that she really was happy to be their. Words weren't going to do that.
