There were few things the newly minted archangel liked more than people watching. Well, helping people was something he liked more. Dean was something he liked more-- but Dean was gone now, back home where he belonged. The angel was both glad and disappointed. Emotions were so complicated. How could you be two opposing things at the same time? It was very frustrating and even after eight years, he wasn't sure how you were supposed to get a grip on things like this. Harry told him that even adults into their late eighties had issues with emotions sometimes. So if that was true, how was he supposed to get the hang of it? Well, all he could do was keep trying. The emotions where there, stuck inside him, and they were there to stay. His thoughts turned back to the scene in front of him. He often sat out here, on this very bench, within view of the market, and just watched the people shopping there. He couldn't see the black market, which he was well aware existed, but the main shopping area was well within view. How could humans walk by this scene every day and never stop to appreciate it? Never take a moment to sit and watch their fellow humans? Granted, it wasn't all humans here, there were all manner of creatures. Aliens. Humans. Meta-humans. Animals. Monsters. Demons. And an angel. One angel. Pushing that thought from his mind (he didn't want to go there, he'd thought too much about that lately as it was), blue eyes belonging to the vessel he was wearing (angels didn't have eyes, you see), focused in on one person in particular. Deanna, the large, shaggy gray dog sitting at his feet, picked her head up and turned her attention that way as well. There seemed to be a little skirmish going on. The angel couldn't tell what it was, but there was a loud exchange of words, and then one person was headed back into the market and the other was headed out in his direction, presumably to get away from the market and find a moment of peace. |
