Per the discussion in this post, the default posting setting is now set to "Friends-Only" for this community. There is no moderator approval required to join, access is instantaneous as soon as you join (not just watch) this community. IJ has seen some tremendous growth lately, and with it, some communities that harvest icons to present elsewhere without credit.
As a compromise, icon makers who post here may, at their discretion, opt to change their posts to public. When you post here, the default setting will friends-lock your entry. If you wish you post to be public, all you need to do is edit your post and change the security setting from Friends to Public. This is up to each maker to decide if they wish their posts to be public or not, and they are welcome to change the security of their posts here as they see fit.
Also, some makers prefer to post teasers in this community and link to them in their personal graphics/icon journals. That's fine, however, it's considered good form to make sure that the link you post is accessible to everyone and not locked. Another option is to post your full set of icons here with a mention and link to your personal journal with a note as to the security status (Public, Friends-Only, etc.) of the entries.
For new visitors: if this is the most recent public post you can see, please join the community, not just watch it.
