Anniversary event!
First of all, and this is technically late, lol I fail - It's our five-year anniversary!
Sap aside, of course it's time for the usual anniversary event! This time, since the current IJ issues make the planned 4th wall difficult to pull off at the moment, we'll be having the very much delayed Fairy Tale event.
As the name suggests, the idea is simple enough. Starting on January 7th and ending on the 18th, all characters in Kiseki will be transformed into a Fairy Tale-themed version of themselves. Or fairy tale AU, which I think explains it better but doesn't look so nice all bolded out.
During this time, all of Kiseki itself will change, as well.
The main island: will now become the Mokona Kingdom, ruled of course by Queen Mokona (who will also secretly be an evil witch). Where the camping grounds are right now, her own castle will rise up instead. Anyone who wishes to serve her or work for her can live there as well. The Welcome Center will still be there, now hidden underneath a small maze of vines and branches.
The forests will remain in the same place, only the one on the west will be a normal forest, while the one on the east will become an even more magical forest. It'll look creepier, darker and more menacing, and have a much larger concentration of creatures in it. All fantastic beasts such as werewolves, centaurs, fairies, dragons, etc, will also be more commonly found in it. The terrain will be more varied, as well, with mountains, caves, etc to the south of it.
The usual city will be more or less the same, simply more old fashioned and with places selling magical items, for example.
The park will now host a huge lake where the usual massive sakura tree used to be.
Everything else will more or less remain unchanged, except for the aesthetics of course / lack of new technology. The trains will work normally, as well.
All other islands will now host several small houses, similar in supplies and size to the usual tents' rooms, where everyone who doesn't stay at Mokona's castle can reside. Magical beings can, of course, use the forests, parks, etc. Any building with things that don't match a more medieval-ish world would look abandoned and be closed up.
Regarding characters, they can become anything you'd like, from any fairy tale from any culture. You can make it match your character or not - you can have Fuuma be a hunter of magical treasure as much as he can be a pretty princess, for instance - and you can choose to incorporate Kiseki and canon backstory into it, or not. I mentioned an example for this before: I could have Doumeki be a knight who remembers Watanuki, a sorcerer, is missing, or he could be a random dragon who protects a golden egg and demands food. In the first one, I'm using Kiseki backstory, while in the second one it's simply matching his personality. It's the same with canon backstory; you can make it a full AU where the character has different bonds with people and entirely different abilities, or you can keep the relationships and give them similar powers. Mix and match with this, it's all cool. Just keep in mind it's not an OOC event, and so if you're only using this event (other events are also replayable as always) then your character should be at least somewhat IC (some tweaking is fine, if you're changing their story a lot of course).
If you choose to ignore canon and Kiseki backstory, your character could simply believe they were brought over to this world by someone's magic, or that they used their own to arrive, or some other bs excuse to start off with a clean story.
The journals will be kept as always, and simply be a normal thing to have here in Kiseki! Previous entries won't be accessible / visible as long as the event runs, of course.
This event will be replayable, as well - minus the world's changes, of course. .. And I think that's it! Please comment or plurk me with any questions or concerns.
