I'd like to say hello to all of the new arrivals. I was meaning to do this a lot sooner, but there was such an influx of new people, I wanted to wait until it slowed down a bit.

My name is Felicity Smoak. I work at City Hall, helping Mayor Dearing wherever I can, and I helped set up the network here. I've been here for three months, so I have a basic idea of how things work around here. Very basic. I like to think I know what's going on, and then...something crazy happens. Kind of a regular thing around here, strange things happening without warning.

Someday, I'll come up with a handbook to this place or something. But for now, there's really not much for me to go off of, other than we have no idea where or when we are, if we're still even on some variation of earth so far, or how this place came to be. But I do have what we've managed to figure out so far. I'll try and update this as we get more information. These past couple of weeks have been good in gathering some more intel.

  • People can show up from different times here. A perfect example of this is Mayor Dearing and Dr.Malcolm, who are both from the same reality. Dr.Malcolm however, is from 1997, where as for Mayor Dearing, it's the present day where she's from in time.

  • Back home, it's as if no time at all has passed. No one notices that you're missing, so it's like you never left. If someone from your reality shows up, they could've just talked to you, so if you've been here for awhile, it can be pretty confusing for them if they show up, and you're talking like you've been here for awhile. It's happened to me twice, already, actually.

  • There's a high possibility that in someone else's reality, you're fictional. For example, where I come from, Mayor Dearing and Dr.Malcolm are from a series of movies. I'm a character in a tv show for others. There might be books, movies, tv shows, comic, or video games documenting your lives back home. For the most part, they tend to be available for people to access if they wish. I don't recommend it, personally, but it's okay to be curious.

  • People with different abilities, ones that you've possibly never even heard of, can show up here. Different types of the same power can exist. For example, Police Chief Swan, uses magic. But the version of magic where's she from is different from say, Harry Potter's. Who isn't here currently. But that would be awesome. Anyway, moving on.

  • That also being said, people who completely different species can show up. Vampires, werewolves, and probably quite a few that I've never even heard of. If you have any sort of special need, please feel free to let me know, and I can make sure that I point you in the direction of the right people.

  • No one knows how to get home. It's been tried, and we're still trying, but for the time being, we all seem to be stuck here. At the moment, we don't know if we can home, or how we'd even get there.

  • No one knows how long this place has been around. There are locals here, but they don't know how we all seem to be getting here, who or what could be responsible for dragging us here, and how the city and the surrounding area came to be. Other than that, they're pretty nice, and for the most part, generally helpful. There are some that are jerks, and don't really like us because the displaced people disturbed day to day life once we starting popping up left and right, but you get those types everywhere.

  • The PDA you get when you first get here is actually pretty useful. It'll tell you where you're living, and if you have a roommate, or not. You can check out your bank account, and access the network, and use it like you'd use any regular smartphone. Except, unlike your Droid or your iPhone, it won't break if you drop it or accidentally put it on top of the stove while it's on, and if you lose it, it'll just magically reappear in your pocket. I speak from personal experience on this one.

  • You're given a small stipend, but it's only a thousand dollars, so you'll probably need to find a job if you want to be able to afford to eat and buy things that you need. Luckily, there are resources at City Hall available to help displaced people find jobs. And there are plenty of locally run businesses that almost always hiring.

  • If you're under the age of eighteen, you have to go to school. There's an elementary, middle, and high school here, so all of the bases are covered. Kitty Pryde's who you see about starting up as a student in one of those places. There's a university, as well, if you want to continue your education. For that, you'd talk to Ian Malcolm. You'd probably want to talk to one of them if you want a job at either one of those places, too.

  • Education, medical care, and housing are free for the displaced.

  • We can leave, but as it's been mentioned before, leaving the city isn't highly recommended. There is a border patrol to monitor things, in case of an emergency, but they don't actually leave the city. If you'd like to sign up, speak to Mayor Dearing. It's worth mentioning that if you'd like to be on border patrol, you must at least have some form of special abilities, such as super speed or strength, and you must be eighteen years of age or over.

  • The border has fallen down before. We've fixed it, and while it's currently stable, we can't really account for it'll go down again or not. Like I said before, strange things that we can't really explain happen all the time. And while we try to have counter measures to get the border up and running if it does go down again, but whether they'll work or not when we need them is a completely different situation entirely.

  • We don't know how many dinosaurs are out there, between the forest, the ocean, and whatever other kinds of various landscapes are outside of the city. We have a basic guess that most of the dinosaurs here are from the Mesozoic Era, based off of the ones that we've seen, but we have no idea how many are actually out there, and how many different species. No one's exactly ventured out to document it.

  • For now, that's about everything, I think. I'll try and keep this updated as a guide of sorts for people to reference when they want to.

How old did people back home say you were? Did you attend school back there?

It wasn't a regular kind of school. And not really all that often.
