Steve Rogers is so smol. ([info]tinysteve) wrote in [info]junkedic,

That movie last night was pretty neat. Thanks again, other-Steve, for putting that all together.

Now that things feel a little less impossible, I figured I can try this again.

Hey Internet(? Right?), my name's Steve Rogers. Not the big, impressive one people seem to think, but still me. I figured it was about time I tried pulling my weight around here, so help me out: who needs an extra set of hands for a project? I'd prefer something more like 'kitchen duty' or 'record keeping', but I'll try anything twice.

Sign me up, then! What do you have started so far?

I picked a corner of the Green and started collecting supplies. Edwin thinks he might have a few things to propegate that we could start with.

That's probably way better than 'mostly clean coffee cans and Brooklyn water'. I like our odds already!

How are supplies looking? I'm not suggesting the coffee-can thing, but I can usually make due with whatever's lying around. Heck, I lived with Barnes for years.

I've never had Brooklyn water but that doesn't make it seem like it's the best.

I've found a couple of pots, but honestly, coffee cans aren't a bad idea! Maybe you can come scavenging around campus with me and we can see what we can find.

I mean it started clearing up there for a little while, but it was never what I would call good. At least plants have their own little filtering systems, don't they?

I'm a world-class rummager, pal. You've got yourself a deal.

Maybe? That sounds right, anyway.

I like that. Rummaging is for sure a talent.

That's what roots are for, I thought. I don't know, Science class was a long time ago.

Is it? Folks just kind of did that all the time

Oh God, I get to say it

Back in my day.

Never did the whole education thing, personally. Mostly I know things I heard from an evil witch. Which, I did learn a little about botany!

You seem pretty pleased with getting to say it.

Right. Because of the Scottish Play thing. Don't worry about it, apparently these little screens have a bunch of that information in them somewhere, from what people said.

And listen, I'm a twenty six year old man who was called kid less than a week ago because I still look a little young. Plus we didn't know if I'd I'll take the occasional old-man thing.

Occasional being key, there

The phones are so good for information. And communication.

Well honestly, the older man thing works for you!

Seems like it! Way faster than letters. And my hand cramps up less from typing than writing.

I don't know what that means, but I'm going to take it as a compliment!

Totally faster than letters. And we've got the little πŸ₯ΊπŸ« β˜ΊοΈ faces.

It is one!

Thanks, Monty.

I'll tell you all about it. And what I know about the double meanings. You've got to be careful about the produce.

Is there something wrong with the fruits?

(A question my adopted Nona would ask me and my buddy all the time.)

What good's a tiny picture of a peach? Is it supposed to be like a heart?

We were doing just fine until I got kidnapped on my way to work.

[...] Oh, okay, you know I can see that. Don't go around calling people 'Peaches' anymore. I'll make a note.

I didn't mind the diner so much. Got all the coffee I could drink, and it was Nona's roast day. Best dinner of the week.

I think you can still say it, but, you know, the emojis have a double meaning. And if a guy sends you an eggplant, think twice.

That does sound nice, actually. I'd be dangerous with that much coffee available to me.

Eggplant??? That's optimistic. Or terrifying. If I'm picking up what you're putting down.

You say that like I'm not. But it kept most folks from messing with me, and got them their food on time, so nobody really complained.
