The Quidditch Kick Off was planned a week before games started because the players had a history of getting notoriously drunk and nobody wanted to be hung over for their first match. It made a slow game and the league didn't want any unfortunate bludger accidents due to player impairment. Tonight the theme was "Golden Snitch" and everything was done up in white and gold.

There were a few reporters slinking around on their own, but for the most part the party was filled out with players, their dates, important Quidditch league workers, and a few of the older greats like Nathaniel Ashford and Catriona MacCormack.

They had gotten the hot rock band, Chalk on the Board, to play and there was catering and special dessert from Baxter Bakery. Aurors dotted the entrances to make sure there were no incidents. Everything was going smoothly.
