[ So, it's a day late. My eyes were made of fail last night. ]
It began as a general, boredom-driven exploration of the new island. Then there was a detour into the mall, the discovery of a Halloween-themed shop, and... Well, now it was a horribly-timed attempt at creating the first good event since her arrival on the island.
Faye hadn't bothered with the network yet. All the talk of gigantic bears, earthquakes, and not knowing which island would be attacked had quickly become a source of agitation and fright; she didn't feel the need to deal with it on this particular day.
Unfortunately, it was the worst day possible to make such a choice. Unbeknown to her, people had apparently died horrible, disturbing deaths just as she had feared they might. People had lost friends, family, lovers, and everything in between. And she... was flouncing around, partaking in festivities surrounding a morbid holiday.
Normally, she didn't even like Halloween. It had nothing but negative connotations after the incident with Vincent (even more now that she'd witnessed the fight between that bastard and Spike). But these weren't normal circumstances. Nothing good had happened so far - at least nothing beyond certain human interactions - on either island. Even if in the name of one of her least favourite holidays (aside from, ironically enough, Valentine's Day), this was at least something pleasant.
After she had her room set up, she'd take some pictures and let everyone else know of the new shop so that maybe a little fun could be had. Or go back for more candy then let the others know. How could harm possibly come of it? After all, there weren't any nano-machines floating around under the guise of lymphocytes, waiting to infect and kill everyone. Not this Halloween.
Or maybe there were. She had no way of knowing and preferred to assume the least devastating scenario.
Thus, Faye had decorated the inside of her room and now stood outside her door, making it look much spookier than normal. There were some cutesy decorations, some darker decorations, and even a giant ghost sticker made to look as if it were sneaking into her room via the crack in the door. Now, she worked to tack purple lights along the doorway. The top was taken care of, leaving just the sides and figuring out a means of routing a power source to them.
As she worked, Faye hummed and swayed her hips... Or, as others might view the matter, she stood there, looking and acting completely unaffected by the destruction of the old island.
