Who: Mandy and Drew
When: Friday Night
Where: Mandy's Apartment
What: Apologizing
Rating: TBA

Drew had been pacing around his own apartment all day. His thoughts were partially on the conversation he'd had with Mandy over the journals and partly on his conversation with Ali. He was agitated, worried, and feeling just a little bit guilty on top of that. He shouldn't have been such a dick to Mandy. She'd blown up her potions lab, admitted to being hurt, and he'd gone and owled over her Chinese because he was jealous of stupid Roger Davies. It was a shite move on all fronts ... even if it had been the first time he and Geoff had really hung out in weeks. He should have gone over and made sure she was okay. She'd said she wasn't mad at him, but he was pretty sure this was one of those times where saying she wasn't mad meant that she was livid. God. Everything was just so complicated and catching up to him.

He didn't know what to do with Mandy. He cared more about her than he even realized. He'd been doing good with ignoring just how much he liked her, but then he'd asked her to stay and he'd absolutely loved having her fall asleep beside him ... something he never expected to like. Frustrated, he ran a hand through his hair before moving to find his shoes. Before apparating to her Apartment, Drew made a quick stop first. He figured an entire bouquet of roses was more than a little much (not to mention not particularly his style), Drew arrived outside Mandy's door with a single red rose. Merlin, he really had no idea what he was doing. Glancing between the flower in his hand and Mandy's door, he debated what it was he was going to do.

Eventually he did reach out, turning the door handle and pushing the door open. Maybe he should have knocked? Was he allowed to just walk in? Annoyed with himself, he shook his head and stepped inside, closing the door behind him. When had everything changed. He never questioned himself before. "Mandy?"

Mandy really felt out of control of this entire situation. She had no idea what was going on and what they were even talking about anymore. When he stepped towards her, she wanted, more than anything, to just step into his arms and let him hold her forever. She was quiet for a moment, just taking in his scent and the way he could just make her feel safer, better. She bloody just wanted to be with Andrew Kirke. Her fingers gripped the edge of the counter, willing herself to stay in place. She wasn't even sure why she was holding back but she couldn't help but wonder what the end would be. It was hard to focus on anything when he was this close to her.

Frowning, Mandy worried her lower lip as she listened to him, thinking of how lovely it had been to wake up next to him and to have him with her. It was brilliant really. But, part of her felt they needed to take a step back, if only because she'd be going into the Ministry soon and she didn't want him taken off her case because of personal interests. He was really one of the only people she trusted right now.

Maybe taking a step back would be a good thing. She opened her mouth to say just that but instead, found herself stepping int his arms, needing him to just hold her for now. Her arms went around his waist, resting her head against his chest. "This is such a bad idea," she murmured, quietly.

Drew was almost certain she was going to back away again and he wasn't sure how he was going to take that. He was preparing himself to take a few steps back himself and just leave. This wasn't like he and Ali, he didn't think he could just be her friend. He was caught off guard for a moment when she actually stepped toward him, her arms around his waist and her head against his chest. Bringing his arms up around her, Drew relaxed a bit. At least for the moment he wasn't being turned away and he could settle for that.

It stung a bit that she didn't seem to thinking being with him was a good idea, but there was little he could do to change her mind. "Being with you was never a bad idea," he responded, determined to not allow her to second guess herself or, to a lesser extent, them. Drew had never been the type to do as he was told and the fact that she didn't think it was a good idea was enough for him to want to prove that it was.

He just held her, his lips pressing a light kiss to her hair. After several long moments, he loosened his hold. "Let me see your wrist," he instructed softly. He should have already done this for her and it was his fault she was still in pain because of it.

Mandy couldn't remember the last time she'd felt so... right in someone's arms. It scared her but she appreciated the way the feeling and she enjoyed it. She hated that she was feeling dependent on him and it was starting to scare her. But, she was comfortable right where she was happy to be in his arms. Even if it was starting to scared her. The intensity of it and all that. She could feel the heat of his body and Merlin, everything felt so good.

Sighing, Mandy nodded against his chest but she didn't think it'd be a good idea if things went any further between them. At least, right now. This all could damage his career and she didn't want to be the girl who did that. It wouldn't work out well for either of them.

When he pulled back, she held out her hand, slowly unwrapping it. The long burn extended up her palm and across the underside of her wrist. It was angry and red and she wrinkled her nose. "It's getting better," she murmured, eying it.

Drew took in the sight of the burn. "Christ," he muttered, pulling his wand from his back pocket (a poor place to carry it, he knew). If this was getting better, than he really didn't want to see it when it had happened. It looked awfully painful. Carefully casting a numbing spell on her arm, he proceeded to case a few healing charms, one for quick healing, one for swelling, and one for pain. The area would still be a bit read and tender, but it was much better than it had been. Of course, anything would have been better than it had been.

"Do you have anymore bandages and cream for it?" he asked, raising his eyes to hers again. She should be alright without one, but it would heal better if there was nothing to irritate the skin. He didn't think he'd ever used his first aid training more than when he'd been with her. She was definitely a magnet for trouble. Perhaps that was the reason he found her so addicting. Did he just want to feel needed? It was possible. Geoff, Ali, George, Katie, Cormac, they were all pretty independent. Hell, even his Step-mother hadn't stuck around past his Father's death. It was a definite possibility. Frowning slightly, he forcefully pushed those thoughts away. He didn't want to think about it. Everything seemed to be undermining what he felt for Mandy.

"It shouldn't take too long to heal now," he commented, his eyes moving to the bruise on her forehead. "And a bit of bruise cream for that should have it faded in a few days."

Mandy watched him bandage and fix her wrist, glad that one of them knew a little about healing charms and the like. She could whip up salves and potions but she had never learned healing charms. At this rate, she was most certainly going to need to. When he was finished, Mandy smiled up at him, stepping back into his arms, just wanting to be right there with him. Sighing, softly, she never wanted to move. Merlin. He was just so wonderful and he'd always been there for her. It was amazingly comfortable and even with the tension between them? Well, she didn't have anyone else. He was the only one who knew everything about her.

"Stay with me tonight," she murmured against his chest, not wanting him to leave. Pulling back, she looked up at him, brow furrowed. She'd made a decision earlier in the day and had decided that she was ready. She needed to get into the Ministry and tell them everything.

"I'm ready to go in," she said, softly. "To the Ministry and make my statement and tell them everything." She didn't know what this would mean or what she'd end up having to do but she knew that if she didn't get on with it? She'd never get the normal life she craved. She wanted it desperately and she wanted it with Drew. He head to be a part of it. It was a must.

His arms came back up around her when she moved back to him. He was still a bit concerned about her injuries, but the ones he knew about were on the mend and that was all he could really hope for. Drew wasn't quite ready to loosen his hold when she stepped back but he did none the less. Reaching up, he brushed her hair back with a nod. Part of him just wanted to keep her here, away from the Ministry, away from the ring, away from anybody who wanted to hurt her. It was ridiculous, really. He knew nothing was going to change unless they finished the job. He wasn't going to be allowed to be with her if it wasn't done.

"Okay," he nodded, worried about the outcome of all of this. All he could really do was hope for them to see sense. He knew Mandy hadn't been lying to him. His involvement with her would tarnish his word, but there was no way he could fool truth serum. Not the dosage they gave you for questioning. He didn't have anything to hide and neither did she.

His hand moved to rest on the side of her neck, his thumb brushing over her warm skin. Leaning forward, he kissed her softly, wondering what it was she was thinking. "I'll let them know and I'll go with you." Normally, they weren't involved in the questioning. They had every right to as it was their case, but normally they let the department assign someone. In this case, however, he was going to be there for every damn word of it.

Mandy looked up at Drew, meeting his gaze, enjoying the feel of his hands on her neck, caressing her gently. Closing her eyes against his touch, Mandy nodded. She was nervous and scared about going into the Ministry but she didn't have a choice. She wanted to be normal and this, well, after the public scandal and everyone found out what it was she'd been doing, she could start a normal life. She slid her arms around his waist, just needing to be held and comforted. It wasn't hard to find comfort in Drew. He was the first person in a long time to actually give her a chance and she hadn't let anyone in since Roger.

Sighing, Mandy pulled back and gave him a tentative smile. "It'll be fine," she said, reminding herself to owl Geoff. She needed to let him know that she'd be doing this as well. "Come on," she said, pulling him towards the living room. "Go put the game on and I'll start dinner."

She hadn't realized what she said until it was too late. That was possibly the most domestic thing to come out of her mouth ever. Blushing a little she ducked under his arm and pulled an ale out of her fridge and handed it to him. She didn't drink a lot of beer but since her involvement with Drew, she'd kept his favorite around.

He chuckled under his breath when she tugged him toward the living room with the instructions to turn the game on. It was very domestic and he found he really liked it. He liked the thought that they were comfortable enough around each other for something like that. He was also ridiculously amused that she always seemed to have a few bottles of his favourite ale kicking around her fridge.

Accepting the beer with one hand, he used his free hand to pull her back to him, his lips catching hers in a deep kiss. He really did just love the feel of having her pressed against him. After several long moments, he pulled away. "You're far too adorable for your own good," he chuckled, releasing her and moving into the living room to do as he'd been asked. It took a moment to find the game, but once it was playing on the television, he moved back toward the kitchen.

Whether or not it was his kitchen or hers, she always looked quite at home. He liked watching her cook or bake or brew. It was comforting just watching her. "Did you need any help?" he asked, leaning against the door frame. He might not like to cook, but he wasn't completely useless in the kitchen. He did get tired of Chinese food from time to time.
