WHO: Evan and Brandon (will be posted in one comment to save time), Charlie, Rodeo, Leah
WHAT: The Sing Sing invasion.
WHEN: March 15th, 2019
RATING: Medium/high for language and zombie asskickery.
STATUS: In progress.
It was a fairly straightforward plan. Scope out the area and clean up whatever was there. But it would be made much, much easier, far more straightforward, if there weren't so many irreparable rifts in their squad. Leah didn't trust Rodeo and she still didn't completely trust Charlie, either. As far as he knew, Rodeo didn't fully trust him. And he knew for a fact that Brandon didn't trust him. If he hadn't known that already, though, the way Brandon seemed to be glaring at him every step of the way would have been more than enough to say so.
Sing Sing was much larger than Evan ever could have imagined. He'd heard that the place was like a city, but as he stood outside, it looked like the walls stretched for miles. Reaching a gloved hand up, Evan ran it through his hair and shook his head. "This place is enormous," he said softly. "This is a perfect place to start out. Awesome choice, Leah," he told her.
As soon as Evan started speaking, as if he was pulled from his own thoughts about how big the prison actually was, Brandon stepped forward, brushing past Evan, and looked at the pair of guard towers. "We should hit up one of the towers. Maybe a central one. We'll probably get the best view from this one," he gestured vaguely to the nearest guard tower to them, probably ignoring the fact that Evan had said exactly that when he'd chosen this place for them to stop the van. Apparently, 'put the past behind us' only went so far when you were Brandon Stone. Practicing what you preached was another thing entirely.
"The two of you can go up first," Evan said, gesturing to Charlie, then to Brandon. "And then Leah and I will go afterward. Rodeo can bring up the rear and make sure nothing sneaks up behind us." He was barely able to hold back a "don't pull any climbers off of walls" comment. He'd already earned enough of Leah's ire lately. This wasn't the right time for that sort of thing.
