WHO: Jax and Jess
WHERE: the infirmary
WHEN: November 12, 2019 ; late afternoon
WHAT: Jax is restless. This is always bad news unless you have tranquilizer darts.
RATING: Low
Jax Marstiller was glad to be alive. Sure he was. He knew if he hadn't turned out to be immune, he'd either be wandering about eating brains or else he'd be tucked in for the fabled dirt nap by now. But. (And there was always a but, always.) He was bored. Somehow, knowing that he was going to be getting out of here and into the general population of Sing Sing in a couple of days made it even worse. He needed something to dooooo, dammit, before he lost his ever-loving mind.
Zach, Jess and the other people who worked in the infirmary were fine. Jax didn't have a problem with them at all, but he wanted to meet the tons of people who lived in the compound. At least a hundred, he thought someone had said. The only interesting thing that had happened in here just lately had been that some chick had had a baby the other day, and it wasn't like he got to watch that. Not that he would have necessarily wanted to, because they'd been forced to watch a film in ninth grade health class before all this Infection bullshit had started that had been truly horrifying. Nothing that size should come out of anything that size, and that was all there was to it as far as Jax was concerned.
He'd done everything he could think of to do, which wasn't much since he didn't like to read and there weren't video games, and now he was wandering the hallway, peeking into examining rooms if the doors were open, looking around him for any possible distraction. Maybe he could find some magazines to tear pictures out of, or something. The zombies hadn't killed him, but what good would that do if he expired of boredom? Jax wondered. He heaved a mighty sigh, taking a turn into the front office. Oh, hey, there was Jess. Maybe he could aggravate talk to her for a while.
"Jess!" Jax bellowed, unfortunately for the ears of anyone anywhere nearby. "What's up, chicka? Or however you'd say that in Chinese."
