Jess! Her head turned to the sound, instinct setting in. But mind registered voice and a slight roll of the eyes followed. He was well meaning, and nice guy, but boy did he get to be a bit much after a while. He was cooped up in the Infirmary, but at the same time so was she and with him. Granted, she had the opportunity of freedom, where as he did not (not yet anyway). Immune he was, but still one could never be so sure. Observation was required.
"Not much," she said turning around in the chair. She had been looking at some books. Brush up on procedure was always good. Not that she was really doing too much of anything important. There was the baby about but mother and child were doing just fine. Jess did not feel it was her place to stick her nose in. "And for the record in Chinese it would be... " and she followed with something in Mandarin as close to his phrasing as possible. "Did you need something?" Despite him being a pain in your side from time to time, she still did worry about his well being. Can't stop a worrier from worrying. Heck, it was hard to get accustomed to the idea of David running around by himself now. He was not always in eyesight and it was a strange sensation. But in a place like Sing Sing, it just didn't make sense for her to keep him on a short leash.
