Who: Students of Idris (OPEN - tag yourself in)
What: Impromptu gathering of friends who need to mourn the loss of a friend.
When: Sunset, Wednesday night
Where: Blitzball stadium
Rating: PG-13 (for language most likely)

Rocky only knew one way to deal with death. To respect it and honor those who had fallen from tragedy. But death had never been this close to him before. He had zero experience with knowing a living person and having them murdered close by. And the fact that another student may have been the murderer had his brain spinning. He didn't believe it was Jason. At least he didn't want to. But he knew how anger felt and the loss of control could slip pretty easily.

Rocky had to shut his brain off though and focus on something else. He had tried to help Hunter but realised she needed some space. Of course, her not letting him into her room didn't really help matters. So now he was busy, placing candles on the benches that surrounded the pool. It was busy work, which is exactly what he needed. Hopefully the gathering would help alot of kids deal with their feelings without putting their powers into a meltdown.

Shelley's face was puffy from the previous night. Her crying didn't wake her roommate, because she stuffed her face in a pillow, suffocating the cries, snuffed out like birthday candles. She was dressed conservatively, in black with a white headband holding her bangs back. In China, death and white went hand-in-hand.

She had papers in her hand, ranging from thought-out notes to little paper trinkets that were to be burned, either there or in privacy, where Shelley would mourn her friend Julian the better way. "I'm going to speak." she announced, her sharp, low voice a stark contrast to the muddled silence.

"I'm not going to stand here, before you, and pretend like this isn't a tense situation," Shelley wasn't the best public speaker, but her voice rang out, audible to everyone. "It's...an awful situation. Tragic. And Julian, one of my best friends, is gone...Some say certain people have a personality that, by default, are either loved or hated," She took a moment to swallow, pushing some stray hairs over her shoulder. "But I can tell you, um, right now, that he did more for me than I ever did for him. Not too long ago, I was sick, hungover," She let the word rest in the air for a moment. "And he gave me medicine. Took time out of his day to do so."

Shelley breathed. It wasn't uncommon to see people rarely cry, but she never cried, at least in public. She never cried in movies, never cried at any of her grandparents' funerals, and certainly never cried after a bad possession. "There was a saying that my NaNa always said when I was hot in the head. Um, it went like this. 星星之火可以燎原。 A spark can start a fire that burns the entire prairie." With that, Shelley paused for a moment, before nodding her head a little bit and backing up. "I'm done."

Share Your Memories Pen/open

Pen had sat and listened to everyone talk about 'what a good person' Julian was and 'how horrible it was' to lose him. It wasn't until almost the end that she realized she had no idea who most of the people that went up to speak were even talking about. But it sure wasn't Julian. That's when she decided she had to say something, she couldn't sit here and listen to people morn someone that never existed.

She quickly walked up to the front and looked out at the tear-stained faces that looked back at her. Taking a deep breath, she started, "I've only known Julian for a short time, we only met at the beginning of this term, when he accidentally blew me up in the halls. That was a very Julian type thing to do, he loved pulling pranks. He wasn't a saint by any means, he was a cut up and a trouble maker. If he was here now, he most likely would do something insanely stupid and we'd all pretend to be horrified, but we'd really think that it was hilarious." She stopped and paused, this was harder than she had thought it would be. "What I think I'm trying to say, is that Julian should be remembered as who he was. We shouldn't make him out to be anything that he wasn't he wouldn't like that. He'd want us to laugh, even though I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to really laugh again." Pen wiped her eyes that suddenly were wet.

"That's... that's all I have to say. Thank you for listening." She said quickly and stumbled back into the crowd and sitting in a random chair.

Share Your Memories: Deke

When every student had spoken for Julian, Deke rocking back and forth in his misery on the grass, he finally stood.

Something had flared inside of him, and he was angry that so many people were remembering the fun-loving warlock with tears. That wasn't Julian, and it certainly wasn't how Julian would have wanted things. Julian was happy. Always smiling. Always with some sort of practical joke up his sleeves.

Rising to his feet, Deke made his way through the crowd towards the microphone. But when he got there, he refused to take the mike from the student handing it to him. Instead, with his classic I'm-pulling-a-prank smile, he dropped his pants and stepped out of his underwear. Luckily he had worn a long enough shirt to cover his jewels. He pulled his pants back on and stepped over to the flagpole that was flying their school flag at half-mast. He lowered and unclipped the flag, then discarded it off to the side. He then took the clips and fastened them to the waistband of his own boxers, and raised his undies up the pole. He tied off the rope, then stood back and saluted.

Re: Share Your Memories Bella/Ro on Fiddle

Bella knew this was risky since not many outside of Mathey knew she could also sing. She explained how "The Ash Grove" was a common service song from her homeland along with a small story about how Julian had heard her sing Damien Rice's "Cheers Darlin" in an empty classroom the year before. "Plus since he teased me about how confusing the Welsh language can be I'll sing "The Ash Grove" in Welsh" as Bella focused on the language at the moment. She also sang "Cheers Darlin" and was somehow able to focus enough to keep her own raw emotions from taking hold. But the music of her homeland was what kept her stable since like Damien Rice Bella's roots are also in Ireland.

Ro stood slightly behind Bella and opened her fiddle case, gently taking out the dark wooden instrument inside. She placed it under her chin and set the bow on the strings, waiting for Bella's signal. Once it was time to play, Ro closed her eyes and ran the bow over the strings, the notes of both beautiful songs flowing from the stage and over the crowd. Bella's voice was lovely, doing justice to both songs, and the Welsh definitely added to the atmosphere. Unable to see the other students, Ro herself was transported to another place, far from Idris. She was almost sad when the songs were over. After putting her fiddle away, she followed Bella quietly back to their seats.

It was after a few people had spoken that suddenly he was standing there, most couldn't recall him having entered and he certainly hadn't been making the showy antics he was known for. Dressed in his black leather jacket and a pair of dark gray slacks, a black button-up shirt worn beneath the jacket. He made his way towards a position where he could be seen easily and made a small nod towards the assembled group of students.

"Thank you, everyone. I know that, despite the fact Julian would have called me an emotional girl for saying it, he would have appreciated everyone here this evening."

He smiled a bit, sadly and briefly, before continuing with his words. His voice was strong and clear, one of his few endearing qualities. He didn't look like he had been crying, surprisingly well-composed for what turmoil raged inside.

"I'll make this quick, because we do have class tomorrow and because a lot of you have spoken about Julian with accuracy. He was a clown. A complete womanizer and a foolish..foolish young man. He would do things for shock value and always appreciated getting people out of their comfort zone. His legacy is the memories that make us smile and grimace at the same time, laughing at ourselves as well as him."

He studied them for a few moments, blue-green eyes observing the various people that had been brought together by the loss. His tone changed now as he took a deep breath, squaring his solid shoulders for what was following.

"But no one that truly knew Julian could deny the fact he was a good man. No amount of sarcasm or skirt-chasing could hide his character, which when he was pushed..he would do the right thing. He cared about others, in his very unique way, but he was still a person of substance. He had the courage to be what he wanted and not was expected of him, which is why he was loved. To many of us he was a joker, to some of us he was a friend, to a lucky few a brother, and to some he was more. He might have been taken from Idris..."

He was surprised momentarily by the emotion that erupted inside him, pausing in his speech as he looked to the ground and tried to gather himself quickly. He couldn't get the image out of his head, his friend lying dead..dying in such an agonizing manner. He breathed deeply, he could see the candles all around the stadium dimming as he prayed furiously and released a small sigh as he was able to calm himself successfully. His voice quavered only slightly as he continued.

"..but he will always be here with us. His friends and the people who honor him with our laughter..as well as our tears. And I promise, to all of you assembled here and to his family..the party responsible for his death will be accounted for and receive their due. Here's to Julian."

He pulled a flask from inside his jacket, taking a long drag from it and then saluting it into the air. He stepped away and made his way towards the back of the congregated students. He hadn't recognized his voice near the end of it, he hoped he didn't sound as cold as he did in his own ears to those here.
