Mod Post: Announcing the [info]hp_unfaithful December Pseudo-Advent Calendar Festlet!

Hello, Unfaithful-ites!

With December 1 right around the corner (er, literally), I wanted to propose we here at [info]hp_unfaithful do a little bit of a fest (festlet!) to celebrate.

After all, we can't let the holiday season pass without at least a little bit of cheating, right? So much potential for awkward moments -- like when one's lover shows up at one's Christmas party, unbenownst to one's spouse...

Basically, I want: a.) lots of infidelity fic and art; b.) zero stress for you lot. :) So! Let's do this:

THE [info]hp_unfaithful DECEMBER PSEUDO-ADVENT CALENDAR FESTLET!

The rest of the details are over at the COMM'S LJ POST. I won't post the prompts at both LJ and IJ; they will be at LJ only. So, if you want to come play with us, go over and check it out!

And now, the Masterlist for our participating authors:

The Rules, again (which aren't many; write/draw anything you wish that has to do with one-night stands, and post to the comm yourself when you're ready, anytime before Sept. 30)

The Prompts (use or not; up to you!)

Mini-fest: One-Night Stands

Hello, [info]hp_unfaithful watchers and contributors! We thought it was past time for another of our low-pressure but very fun mini-fests. One of our wonderfully imaginative watchers came up with this idea, and your mods thought it sounded like a lot of fun:

THE ONE-NIGHT STAND MINI-FEST!

All fic and art would focus on one-night stands. It can be PWP, obviously, or dealing with guilt after the fact, or hiding the evidence, or running into that person at work the next day, or... whatever you want!

We're still ironing out the format, so STAY TUNED for more details. Short pieces are encouraged, and we would aim to post in August and September. For now, a poll about possibly using prompts, or not:

Please go to our LJ mirror to take the poll!

Feel free to vote whether or not you think you'll be writing or drawing for the fest. Go ahead and leave any other suggestions in the comments. We'll let you know shortly how the final fest will work.

All (Re)Mixed Up Challenge: extended!

Well, folks, today is technically the deadline for our All (Re)Mixed Up Challenge. We have at least one entry posted, yay! Alas, several of us (including your mods) are not quite done with our remixes.

So, we're going to extend the deadline until Friday, October 30.

One more week to finish and post your infidelity-themed remix! Remember, it can be as short as a drabble, or as long as you want. Let's get remixing, and get some more infidelity fic out there next week!

Let us know if you have any questions.

All (Re)Mixed Up Challenge -- now underway!

Okay! Sign-ups are now closed for the All (Re)Mixed Up Challenge. The following is a list of our participants:

[info]gryffindor_j
[info]nightfalltwen
[info]purple_chalk
[info]reikokatsura
[info]snegurochka_lee
[info]woldy (sort of) ;)

Go back and have a look at the sign-up post, if you haven't already been following it, and do what you need to do to choose the story you want to remix! Remember, you can only choose from the links at that post. You can read through a few of them (or all of them!), or go by pairings that interest you, or whatever other system you'd like to use.

You don't need to officially pick a fic (ie: you don't need to respond to any comments to 'claim' one); keep it a surprise if you'd like! If you do want to ask questions of the original author, though, feel free to do that.

Remember that the full list of rules are also at the sign-up & link post. Post your Remix here at the community before October 23 (be sure it features infidelity in some way, and be sure to credit the original author!)

And last but not least: have fun!

(And watchers: look for some great Remixes to be posted in the next 6 weeks. Be sure to give our Remix authors some feedback if you read something you like.) :)

Last day to (Re)Mix it up!

Just a reminder that sign-ups for the All (Re)Mixed Up Challenge officially end tonight!

Check out the sign up post for the full rules, but remember, the stories or art you offer up for remixing don't have to be about infidelity already -- but the Remix of them does! How you approach that is up to you. If you're not one for NC-17 scenes, we like genfic or art just fine, too, as long as there is still some form of an infidelity theme present.

Artists, we'd especially love to see you!

And if you've been thinking of signing up with links to your stories/art but aren't sure you'll have time to submit your own remix, we're relaxing the give-and-take rule a little bit. To expand the pool of links available for remixing by our intrepid participants, go ahead and leave us links to any of your work you'd like to see remixed (two maximum!)

Submissions will be due October 23, remember.

Questions? Ask away! And then go sign up!

(Links go to our LJ comm, so you can see other folks' sign-ups, but if you'd rather sign up at IJ, see this post!

All (Re)Mixed Up Challenge - Sign Ups!

Hi ya'll! It's been a little while since our Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez Faire Challenge and we're kicking off a new one! Announcing --

The All (Re)Mixed Up Challenge!

Like last time, this'll be an easy-going good time—but instead of submitting prompts, you'll submit UP TO TWO of your fics/art for someone else to REMIX!

Wait, what's a remix?
Check out the Remix Redux FAQ for more info. Basically, someone else will re-create your work by taking a different point of view, using a different chronology, etc. We here at hp_unfaithful think that infidelity stories make a great genre for remixing – to get either another character's POV on the issue, or to see the affair from a slightly different angle.

Cool! How do I sign-up?
Just fill out the template below in a comment to this post to sign up.

Once you've linked your own stories/art, return to this post over the next week or so and choose someone else's fic or art that you'd like to remix. You can reply to their comment if you want (ie: if you want to chat about the remix), but you don't have to! You can keep your choice a secret if you'd rather, until you finish and post the remix.

When is the deadline?
The due date for posting your remixes is October 23, but you can post sooner than that if you like. In fact, the sooner, the better! If you post early, your remix might just get more attention than if it's in a glut of last-minutes posts on the day of the deadline. ;)

We don't have too many rules and notes of caution, but here they are:

1. If you sign up and post a remix, there's NO guarantee that someone will pick and remix one of your works. This isn't meant to be a gift exchange. Similarly, the works you make available for remixing might be remixed by multiple authors/artists.

2. If you sign up and make your work available for remixing, we assume you'll be posting a remix of someone else's work. No one's going to beat down your door if you don't, but you want to see more infidelity-themed work out there, right? Also, it'd be really, REALLY terrific if you could help us keep things balanced in this challenge.

3. The only requirement for remixes is that the central theme be infidelity; there are no other format or content-related restrictions (e.g., regarding slash/het/gen). So for example, if your original work features Harry/Ginny and no infidelity, keep in mind the remix of your fic could involve Harry cheating on Ginny with Draco. Similarly, if you're an author, the remix of your fic might be art, and vice versa.

4. Remixers may only remix works explicitly made available for remixing by the original author/artist. This is pretty basic—DO NOT remix something unless that work is specifically referenced in a sign-up post below.

Sign-Up Template – example: (please include links and make sure the fics/art are unlocked!)

Sign-ups will close on August 31. After that, no new links will be accepted, but participants can continue to peruse the links and remix however many stories/art they wish before the deadline of October 23.

Credit to [info]musesfool and her Remix Redux fest for the concept. If you want more background on remixing, again, take a look at the Remix Redux FAQs here. Let us know if you have any questions! And have fun!

Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez-Faire Challenge Masterlist

That's a wrap, folks! Thanks to everyone who participated in the Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez-Faire HP_Unfaithful Challenge, from the prompt-leavers to the prompt-claimers, lurkers, writers, artists, and everyone who has left some feedback.

The masterlist is under the cut. If you haven't completed your claim yet, never fear. You can post it whenever it's done, and if you leave me a link here, I'll add it to the list. See? No pressure. Laissez-faire. :)

Meanwhile, we still have an awful lot of good prompts listed in the original prompt-claiming post. They are free and up for grabs now for anyone who needs an infidelity bunny or two. Credit to this comm would be nice, if you take one and end up using it, but no need to sign up for them anymore.

Please do browse the masterlist and catch up on any fic or art you might have missed – both at LJ and IJ. The art and stories are listed in order posted, because I am not adept enough at either the alphabet or pairings to have made it more specific. :) (Actually! I debated splitting it by slash/het/femslash, but in fact – and this warms my pansexual, label-defying heart – most stories would not have fit in those types of categories. Hurrah for non-categorisation!) Let me know if I've missed your piece here.

Pairings are listed with the established pairing(s) first and the infidelity pairing(s) second.

Finally, authors and artists always love to get feedback on their pieces, if you see something you like.

Masterlist! )

Thanks for playing! We'll have to do this again sometime. :)

Challenge reminder: final week!

Just a reminder that our Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez-Faire HP_Unfaithful Challenge is drawing to a close this week! Please post your fic or art by February 26, in order for your mods to compile the masterlist by the end of the month.

The beauty of the FNPLF challenge is the flexibility, of course, and so if you aren't done yet, don't worry. The comm is always open for business, so you can post your piece whenever you're done. We'll do periodic updates to the masterlist once it's up.

If you've missed any of the entries so far, check out our handy challenge tag to catch up. Don't forget out our LJ mirror comm as well, where -- despite our efforts to lure more posters over here -- most authors have posted exclusively: the challenge tag at LJ.

See something you like? Go ahead and leave a few words of feedback for an infidelity author or artist today!

Thanks for playing, everyone! We are totally thrilled with the turnout so far, and anticipate even more fabulousness in the days to come. ♥

Fabulous Challenge going strong!

Just a brief modly note to let all you lovely IJ-ers know that our Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez-Faire HP_Unfaithful Challenge is going strong! Despite our efforts to encourage people to post to both our LJ and IJ comms, I see that the LJ one is getting a bit more traffic lately.

So, if you've been wondering what happened to the challenge, you might want to take a peek over at LJ to see some of the recent entries!

Click here to go to the handy 'challenge: no-pressure laissez-faire' tag to make it easy for you!

Come on by and give some infidelity artists and authors some love. Remember that you are always welcome to post here at IJ, too, but if you find yourself craving some fictional infidelity and think this comm looks a bit less active -- do give the LJ mirror a look. :)

Now Posting Fantasticness!

Posting is now open for our Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez-Faire HP_Unfaithful Challenge! In fact, we've already got our first challenge piece, by [info]la_dissonance!

While the first phase of prompt claiming is now over, please don't be shy about claiming a new prompt (or a first one!) here! Our timeline was intended to gently nudge everyone from claiming towards posting at this time--but the beauty of the FNPLF challenge is the flexibility. :)

The posting deadline for inclusion in the master list is February 26--so try your best to post before then! We're posting the list on February 28, but it'd be nice to have a couple of days to put it together. ;D

Prompt-claiming now open!

Thanks to everyone who left prompts for us over the past week for our Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez-Faire HP_Unfaithful Challenge! We've now compiled both the LJ and IJ prompts and sorted them into the vague categories you see below.

Claiming is now open! Here's how it works:

1. Prompt claiming: January 9 – 16. Follow the link at the bottom of THIS POST to stake your claim at LJ (numbered for both your convenience and ours; please cite the number you want). Only one claim at a time, please (unless you'd like to combine some of the single-word prompts). All prompts are open to multiple claims, so you can claim a prompt that has already been claimed by someone else. Because this is not meant to be a gift exchange, prompts are listed without the prompter's name. For that same reason, these prompts are for inspiration only. If you want to change any element of them to suit your story or art, feel free!

2. Posting: Any time through February 26. Please post to the comm when you're ready! We won't chase you down if you don't finish, but obviously we'd like it if you did. The point of this challenge, after all, is to create and post more infidelity-themed HP fic and art. :)

3. Master list: February 28. For your orderly enjoyment.

Please refer to our userinfo for full community rules and posting guidelines. In sum: het, slash, femslash and gen are all allowed, any length, any rating and any kink, crack or angst, as long as infidelity is the major theme. Fic and art are both adored! You may post at either the LJ comm, the IJ comm, or both.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Click here to read THE PROMPTS and make your claim at the LJ post.

(Sorry for the inconvenience, but this will keep me from going nuts trying to update the claims list on both sites. :)

The Fabulous No-Pressure Laissez-Faire HP_Unfaithful Challenge!

Overdosed on happy endings and holiday love? Need something fresh to start the year? Come join the inaugural [info]hp_unfaithful challenge and revive your obsession with a long-loved (or long-hated!) character or pairing!

It'll be supereasy and low-key, and you'll get to post your infidelity-themed work to the comm at your leisure. Here's the timeline:

1. Call for prompts: Now - January 8. Reply to THIS POST with a brief prompt. A word, a phrase, or a concept will be perfect! You can specify a pairing if you want, or not - but please, nothing overly specific. This isn't a gift request, but rather a little spark for a writer or artist to take and run with.

2. Prompt claiming: January 9 - 16. Pick your poison(s). All are open to multiple claims, so you can claim a prompt that has already been claimed by someone else. Because this isn’t meant to be a gift exchange, prompts will be listed without the prompter’s name.

3. Posting: Any time through February 26. Please post to the comm when you're ready!

4. Master list: February 28. For your orderly enjoyment.

We also wanted to mention that because this is more of a kick-back-and-enjoy-the-view sort of challenge, you should feel free to respond to prompts with short fics or sketches--drabbles, even! You should definitely write or draw whatever infidelity theme floats your boat (and fits the prompt!), and there's no word limit (or the artistic equivalent, whatever that might be)--but if you're debating whether you want to play or not, do keep in mind that tiny fics/art are every bit as welcome!

One last thing—slash, femslash, het and gen pieces are all terrific for the challenge, so long as they are infidelity themed. Let us know if you have any questions!

ETA: We're collecting prompts on both IJ and LJ; the prompts list to be posted on January 9 will combine prompts from both of our comms, so no need for you to post them twice. :)
