Poll results, posting and last minute reminders!
Sorry IJ peeps! I accidentally posted this to the posting journal by mistake
I have to say that we were pretty surprised by the poll. Well, not so much that people want fics posted at LJ, but with regard to comments. Sooo...
1. All fanart will be posted at IJ with a 'pointer post' (header + link) at LJ. Comments will be enabled at both LJ and IJ.
2. All stories will be posted at both IJ AND LJ with comments enabled at both.
HOWEVER!!
***Authors: We realize that some of you are not comfortable - for whatever reason - with having the text of your fic posted on Live Journal. We are more than willing to accommodate you! However, you have to let us know VIA EMAIL! Please email us at springsmutmods@gmail.com and put "[username] - IJ Only" in the subject line so it doesn't get lost in our inbox! DO NOT COMMENT TO THIS POST! (or to the poll post either!) Yes, perhaps it's silly, but if you comment publicly, it sort of interferes with the whole anonymous author thing. So please email us instead! (Also, if we happen to screw up, let us know - we'll fix it!)
3. Stories not posted directly on LJ by author's request will still have a 'pointer post' on LJ, with a link to the corresponding post on IJ. We would prefer to leave comments enabled on LJ, but if you have a very strong objection, we'll take that into consideration.
We apologize to people not comfortable with IJ, but all submissions will be posted over there as originally stated during sign-ups. I know some people don't like having their comments in two separate places, however, it would seem that a large percentage of readers and watchers (and fellow participants) prefer to have the option of where to leave feedback. It is with that consideration that we decided to enable commenting at both venues. And look on the bright side - you might get more feedback that way.
And now, on to the rest of the last minute stuff!
( A. People with extensions: )
B. Posting begins in a few hours - March 1 at midnight, Eastern Standard Time - and will continue throughout March 'til the 31st. All stories and art submitted will be posted regardles of whether the original recipient has dropped out.
Most days, there will be three fics or art posted - Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5) at midnight, 8:00 a.m., and 4:00 p.m. On some days, there will be four posts, and they'll go up at midnight, 6:00 a.m., noon, and 6:00 p.m. Eastern. As of now we are expecting to have 100 fics and art to post.
We have an amazing variety of stories and art this year, and we're really excited about posting them! Lots of smut, of course, as we are springSMUT, but with the canon closed and new characters introduced in Deathly Hallows, the stories and art will literally span over a thousand years, from the Founders until nearly another 19 years post-epilogue. There's PWP, EWE, cross-gen, AU, incest, twincest, slash, fem(me)slash, het, threesomes, vanilla smut, kinky smut, plotty smut, and a partridge... Um. No partridges. But we do have werewolves!
All of which brings me to...
C. Feedback! Mmmmmm...Feedback! Feedback is ♥ love ♥, and rare pairs get so little love as it is. Watchers/readers, please remember to let the participants know you appreciate their story or art! Participants, I will remind you of the old adage, "it is better to give than to receive". If you expect people to leave comments for you, it is courteous to do the same in return. A fest is a community, and it works best when you participate beyond your own submission. Please support your fellow participants! Also, I hate that I have to remind you, but we do ask that you thank the person who has written or drawn specifically for you.
Thank you to all of our participants and all of our watchers and readers! Enjoy!
