| Welcome to Nearside, Pennsylvania!
Nearside is a city on the verge of mainstream development, located in Central Pennsylvania next to the Carlton Mountain. Built by a collective community of artists, Nearside is a unique city of locally owned businesses, farmer's markets, and a thriving force of creativity. Solaris Rd. is the most popular section of the city, offering everything from a popular coffee house (a place for local bands, speed dating, karaoke nights, and much more) to a costume shop and a yoga studio to a daycare for Nearside's youngest residents, the city has countless amenities.
Several years ago a university was built and with it, there has been a rapid growth of corporate business and mainstream entertainment but the residents still focus on keeping Nearside's close-knit, small town charm.
*Mod Note: Nearside is a social game, focused on character development and looking for serious writers. You won't find zombies, murders, big-name celebrities, vampires, or people waving around magical wands. Nearside is a game where talented writers have a chance to simply play out various storylines in a relaxed atmosphere. You can either own/work at a shop or just be a loyal fan, the mods are only looking for dedicated writers who are in the mood for a fun game.

 | The Cabot School is a fictional coeducational college preparatory and boarding school, located approximately 20 miles north of Boston, MA in the hamlet of Prides Crossing, MA.
Nearly 95% of the Cabot School's students move on to a four year university. The other 5% pursue careers in the military or defer for a year to volunteer, travel the world, or take part in other opportunities to expand their horizons. The school is a tight-knit community of faculty, staff, students, and alumni - all of which are loyal Mariners to the core.

Since the beginning of time the creatures of magic have been awed, wanted, and hunted down. Religions fade and fall. Fears grow and abate. The beings of this world change, grow, and they adapt.

Its name is Crystal Falls, nestled in the middle of one of the largest lakes of the south the only way in is through boat or flight. There are others here like you. They live normal lives, adapting to their ways as you have had to do to survive with your freedom. You wonder how many of them know. You wonder just how long you all have until the fear grows, questions go unanswered, and the hunts begin. You wonder if the humans will be able to stay, as some wish to keep the island for the mythical creatures only.
For now, this town is safe, a haven for the mystical creatures of lore. They welcome you with open arms. Most are friendly like no other place in the world. More are coming, drawn to the power already here in this enchanted land, and by the powers of the ones long settled here. The promise of protection, friendship, family, normalcy, whatever it is you want out of your life is here and now. How long will it last? Who can you trust?
