Private to the Marauders

Peter Pettigrew arrived late last night. He came to see me early this morning. He comes from the 1st of October, 1981. He still hasn't betrayed anyone and seemed genuinely happy to see me. He even hugged me. ~~What's with you and hugs?~~

Anyway, I will make an announcement in a bit, but I wanted to give you advanced notice.

Good news: the Headmaster has found the key. This means that tomorrow we will be going to Gringotts to see what we can get. The reason for the delay is that if we're going there, we might start looking for clues and give a first look at what's there. We will need just about everyone since we will only surprise them once.

Assignment for tomorrow

We'll be going in teams of two except for Knocturn Alley since you'll have more buildings to check. The Headmaster will stay at the school. You can assume that the goblins will start spreading the news as soon as we leave and we won't have time to check everything so your job is to give a first look and make a very quick inventory of what's in the stores/flats. The house-elves will pick up everything like we did with Hogsmeade. I'm going to guess that almost everything will be empty and boarded up as in the past but at least we know.

1-20: Albus Dumbledore, Lucius Malfoy
21-40: Harry Potter (I'll go to Gringotts first), Remus Lupin
41-60: Peter Pettigrew, Kirley Duke
61-80: Sirius Black, Savannah Monroe

Private to Remus

I know your senses are a better than your average wizard. I don't know exactly how much better, but it would be really useful to know if there are goblins in the bank, and an approximate number. I'm sure if you can't give me an exact count especially if it's fully operational, but anything is better than nothing.

	While I can see some upsides to time travel, like the fact that I will live to see age 20, I'm not sure that everything is better. Like the fact that a bunch of Muggleborn and half-bloods brought about the end of the world. As you can see everything has it's ups and downs. I believe you can blame your Aunt Hermione for this. I can make a list: all energy, pranks, incomplete sentences, complete lack of regard for other people's beliefs, loud, insensitive. I could probably come up with more Gryffindor traits that the hat usually forgets to mention.

Are you sure you didn't trick the Hat? Or was it not working by the time you got to school? Had the population dropped so much that it put Gryffindors in another house?

	Why have the houses if you don't sort by type? It helps those of us who can't deal with Gryffindors to avoid them as a group. It makes for a much more peaceful life. 	I don't know about your time, but in mine, society was pretty small. You pretty much made your friends in school. You had 6 years older and six years younger, meaning you knew everyone in a span of thirteen years. You already had your friends and they just happened to be in your house. 	Good luck getting them to agree. On the other hand, there hasn't been any hexing, so I call this progress. The shop falls under my Dad and Draco's jurisdiction.
