Frustration [after the feast] (tag: Loki)
This was starting to get ridiculous. Sigyn was not a terribly impatient person, nor one given to fits of paranoia, but she was starting to feel both of those things creeping into her life at an exponentially expanding rate. And she didn't like it at all. Doing her best to keep from giving in to the urge to simply stalk Loki, she threw herself into attempting to better her skills with the sorts of crafts the other maidens had already mastered. Instead of distracting her, however, it was simply adding to her frustrations.
Truthfully, though, she was starting to get a bit worried. It had been several weeks since the wonderful night she'd run into Loki in the middle of that feast, when he'd implied that he wanted to be with her just as much as she'd wanted to be with him. And though she knew that it was going to be a challenge to get to see him, given that they were still being secretive and he was off on adventures as often as he was, she hadn't expected to have to go this long without another chance to spend time with him.
Which is what had her wondering and worrying. He had been somewhat drunk that night. Had he regretted all he'd said when he'd sobered up? Had he changed his mind about giving them a chance? Maybe he didn't recall what he'd asked of her. Or what she'd promised him. Maybe... maybe he didn't want her after all?
She wouldn't be in such a state if she'd just had a chance to see him. But that had proven more difficult than she'd expected, and she'd anticipated it being rather hard. She'd sneaked back into his house a few times now. The first night, she'd simply waited for him. After that, she'd taken the opportunity on one lonely evening to tidy the place up, so at least he'd know she'd been there. And he'd come home to a clean space. The last two times, she'd expanded the painting she'd done on his headboard. But still, she hadn't had an opportunity to see the man she was coming to realize she was desperately in love with.
So today, she was done. No more crafting that left her with a lap full of knots and pitying looks sent her way. No more moping over Loki, she hoped. When he got back from wherever he was this time, Sigyn was simply going to march over to his house in broad daylight, and ask what his intentions really were. She might be embarrassed, but at least she'd know whether she should keep trying. Or if she was going to give herself up to being a perpetual virgin.
Instead of waiting around like some weepy little damsel, Sigyn planned to do something that most of the time she enjoyed. Gathering her things together for the short overnight trip, she left word that she would be back tomorrow and set off to find the rocks she needed. Her painting supplies were getting low, since she'd apparently wasted them on subtle messages to somebody that was never there. It took her half the time it usually did to reach the area she wanted, because she'd stalked there rather than walked. After quickly stripping down to her shift, since it was a warm day, Sigyn set to work doing what was necessary to gather her raw materials.
It was going to feel really good to hit things with a hammer.
