Hell or hell dimension; in the end, the different didn't matter. Both were an apt description for what this place had turned out to be. A few seconds was all that it had taken for things to explode into chaos and a raging storm of emotions. Something that had become standard practice in Mystic Falls and had seemingly followed them....there was, of course, a common denominator. Klaus' arrival in the Virginia town had been a catalyst for events that would forever change everyone's lives. The Original hybrid was a selfish creature hell bent on manipulating everything and everyone to his will; a desperate need for companionship, yet no one could tolerate him for very long...not Stefan, nor his own family. Tyler had dealt with it firsthand. Being a slave to the whims of a maniacal sociopath; one that only wanted what he couldn't have. Like a child jealous of another's toys. That's what Caroline was to Klaus; as much as it constantly pissed him off, Tyler knew that. If Klaus ever had her, things would change. The fascination would end…the lure of the forbidden fruit gone.

Tyler was far from perfect; the time in the Appalachian mountains may have changed him, but it hadn’t completely done away with the ‘short fuse’ that he had been born with. Anger issues were still there; when he saw that Care wanted to go out for drinks with the man who murdered his mother, red had flashed before his eyes, blood boiling with the kind of fire that came from such intense emotions. Klaus had been quick to come along; offer his meaningless words, the taunts, imply that he was the ‘hero of the story, while Care played the victim, and Tyler was left as the asshole who screwed everything up. The truth was simple though; the Original would never be the one to save the day…he might provide aide, from time to time, as long as it benefited him in some way, but there was a hollowness to all of his actions. And Caroline…she wasn’t acting like the girl he had been forced to leave. His Care was neurotic, emotional, but she wasn’t a victim. She never backed down; it was why their fights were so heated and passionate. Suicide, flipping the switch, it wouldn’t have crossed her mind. Tyler didn’t know what to think of that. All of it had left him reeling; and now everyone was brandishing torches and declaring how things were his fault, all of it. Another masterful manipulation by Klaus.

It was why he decided to head straight for the bar; alcohol had a numbing effect, on both the body and the mind. This year alone, he had lost more than he knew how to deal with…the grief had almost been unbearable, but even though, he had never contemplated turning his emotions off. Now the mess had only grown even larger than it had been at home. Piling up; more drama, layer after layer. Being around Elena was liberating; she was honest, even if she was aggressive and unwilling to pull any of her punches. Tyler didn’t have to pretend with her. Didn’t have to deal with any of the other things that currently plagued his life…he could just exist. None of those thoughts, though, currently had him feeling any better. It was a struggle just to keep the anger suppressed; to not destroy the bar, feel the wooden cracking and splinter when he hit it, smash the glasses against the walls. No, he would sit there, quietly seething, watching as the bartender slid his drink in front of him; just jack daniels, neat, something to take the edge off.

She was going to be here soon; Elena had told him to text her once he had found a place. Maybe he should be rushing off to Caroline; but he didn’t know what to do. Anything he said, anything he did, just set her off even more. Made the drama escalate; the way she was acting…he didn’t know. Klaus would be there; he didn’t have any doubt about that. Trying to provide comfort, slipping in words of deceit, playing the game that he had for a millennium. In his heart, he had believed that they could always find a way, after everything that they had overcome…this place was only serving to blacken that, to distort it somehow. He took a small sip; fighting the urge to just toss it back, but enjoying the sensation and slight burn in his throat. He turned his head, glancing around, trying to seek Elena out. The rest of the crowd didn’t exist right then; Tyler had cut himself off from that.

"That's not Caroline," he replied in a defensive tone, eyebrows knitting together even more than they had been. "At least that's not the Care from back home. I don't know how this place works, but something's off." Either it was a justification for how he felt or just the truth; it was hard to decipher, and Tyler wasn't going to pretend to even try. He didn't know how things with his girlfriend were going to turn out; for so long, she was the only thing that kept him going...and then she had insulted his feelings, and went off the deep end the second that he called her out on what she was doing with Klaus. None of it made sense. Glancing down at the new glance that had been slid in front of him, Tyler breathed in slowly and exhaled before following in her example. He tossed the whole thing back; let it burn in his throat, he didn't care. Maybe he just wanted to get lost in this too.

Everyone turning on him wasn't really anything new; Tyler was willing to let it roll off his broad shoulders...they hadn't been there in his time of need, why should he care now? Turning his head, he looked at Elena, still trying to get a read on her. "I don't know," another drink had been poured for him by that point...trying to keep up with Elena's pace was going to lead to things getting out of control quickly. Just losing a little bit of discpline and all the anger he was holding in would be released. "You like me. Otherwsie you wouldn't be here." She could have gone to any bar in this parallel Los Angeles if all she wanted was a drink; could have ignored his text all together. But she hadn't; that said something, even if neither one of them wanted to acknowledge what it really was.

So Jeremy was real; as real as anything in this place was, at least. Alive again. That meant the wheels were already turning; maybe her emotions weren't back completely, but it was just a matter of time. She wasn't going to be able to keep all of that at bay. "No, I get not wanting to deal with it..." He threw another drink back, only gritting his teeth slightly afterwards. "If my mom just showed up, or my uncle, I don't know what I'd do." He never even got to say good bye to his mother; and that hurt more than anything else. "It's a good thing, Lena. I wasn't always your brother's biggest fan," he shrugged, they had been at each other's throats over Vicky, and Tyler had thrown more than just a few punches. They'd become friends over time. "But if someone deserved a second chance, it was him. Mystic Falls has taken enough from your family." Tyler was being sincere...that was something. "You shouldn't have to go to Hell in order to get it back."

"So now you're in a bar in Los Angeles, drinking with the only person that people hate more than you. Why? Why me? I'm a dick, and you're still here."

"Yeah, well it took a lot from yours too," she replied smoothly. "I just happen to be lucky enough to take a trip to hell and get some of it back." Maybe luck didn't have anything to do with it. She'd been pulled into a place with every single person practically in her life who wanted to flip her switch back to a permanent on position. When she first got here, she'd been as displeased as someone could with no emotions, but then her brother was alive and everything changed. She suddenly couldn't hate this place, but because he was alive, she could if she wanted. Her walls were crumbling and what was behind it was going to get out of control pretty quickly. Elena wondered how she'd manage to keep it together this far, sitting beside Tyler. She fallen to pieces at her brother's feet barely an hour before.

She tilted the glass back, downing the rest of her fourth Daniels in what could have been interpreted of a heart beat for a human. It burned, scorched going down, but Elena managed to avoid gritting her teeth or flinching. "Tyler, people drinking alone look pathetic. Duh," she shot him a faint smirk over the empty glass and placed it back on the counter. The bartender came by and Elena grabbed up the menu, catching his wrist and tugging him back for a brief second. "I'll take some cheesy sticks," she ordered, locking eyes with the young man again. There might have been a brief nod of his head, but he was gone quickly, a fresh drink waiting where her finished one had been. A glance to her side told her he'd given one to Tyler too. She said to keep them coming for both of them. "Maybe I felt bad for you." Elena shrugged her shoulders and nodded towards the kitchen. "You can have some. Just don't eat them all, okay?" A sickly sweet smile tugged at her lips and she lifted her drink for a sip.

She took a small sip and swallowed. "And I'm a bitch." She raised her glass and playfully tapped it against his before putting the end to her lips for a longer drink. She drained half the glass. "You're still here. I think we are just meant to be, Ty," she smiled a bit. The drinks and the speed in which she took them were starting to hit her now. "They don't hate you," she continued. "Everyone is just really overemotional..." It was probably the understatement of the century and once Elena fully had time to think all over again, it was bound to get even worse. "And your girlfriend wants the original. Not you. She doesn't love you." Another sip, but she ended up draining the glass. "And it sucks." A hand touched his arm, brief contact before she pulled back. It was the first sign that the real Elena was coming to life again; the kind that comforted others. "I'm...sorry." she murmured, knowing he'd heard her over the crowd because of his exceptional hearing. "About your mom." She'd never had a chance to really say it. Before she could, Jeremy was dead and her emotions were gone.

The way that he tensed was visible; those words cut deep, each syllable chipping away another piece of his heart, threatening a self control that had never been easy to maintain. A brief thought, a flash of anger in his mind, and all Tyler wanted to do was pick up the glass that had been set in front of him and throw it against the wall...listen to the satisfying sound of it shattering. “I don't want to talk about Caroline,” there was a low tone of warning in his voice. On edge; but that much had been obvious from the moment that she found him in the bar. She doesn't love you. Could there be a more painful thing spoken aloud? Loving someone more than they loved you; needing someone more than they needed you...things had been blown out of proportion. Emotions exploding like dynamite. Sometimes once a line was crossed there was no returning. You couldn't take back the things that you said; there was no guarantee that you could fix the hurt that had been caused. When there was truth to it, when you could really believe what was being said, it made it that much worse.

Instead of creating even more of a scene with a display of violence, Tyler tossed back his drink, eyes closing for only a second as the burn traveled down his throat. Her touch may have been his only saving grace right then. The contact was brief; her hand on his arm, comforting, but not lingering. I'm sorry. Elena from even a day ago would have never said such a thing; at least not without the words dripping with sarcasm. Sorry...for his mom, for his grief, for all of it. His eyebrows knitted; comfort wasn't something that he had ever been good at dealing with, either. Tyler knew, in different ways, and on different levels, his parents had loved him...but they had never been a 'warm' family. Not when his father was around. Caroline was the only person he had ever really let in before; and now that decision was being wielded like a weapon against him. Elena had become his focus; the sole driving force in his life...whether it was to get the flip switched or not. When you put that kind of intensity into someone, you couldn't just turn it off.

“Yeah, me too,” the words were bitter, just solemn. The sentiment was easy to appreciate; but all of the things that he had been told about time healing wounds...it wasn't true. It didn't erase what had been done. It was as fresh now as it had been when Sheriff Forbes showed up at his door with news that he never wanted to hear. He knew another drink was bound to be on the way, along with the food that she had ordered, but nothing sounded appetizing to him right then. Nothing sounded appealing. He had told her before that he wouldn't turn his emotions off despite some of the things that he had been through; that still held true, but he did wish he could cut some of the feelings out. Maybe his heart being ripped out, literally would have been an easier solution. Those thoughts could be dealt with later; she had shown up, despite having a thousand reasons not to...having no obligation to follow up on the text that had been sent.

Turning in his seat, Tyler was facing her more than before, but not completely. Reaching over, his hand came to rest on her wrist, not squeezing hard...but there was just enough pressure to be felt. He wasn't trying to intimidate or scare her, not right then. She was the lone person that wanted to put up with him. That felt as if spending time with him wasn't a complete waste. “I don't want to just sit here. I'll go crazy...and it's not going to be pretty.” It didn't mean that he wanted to just get up and leave; the alcohol hadn't made him numb enough yet.

Elena knew it was harsh of her to say, a solid blow to his already wounded ego and his heart, but it was sadly the truth. Caroline didn't care about Tyler; if she did, she would be sitting here right now, comforting the hybrid instead of it being her best friend. It made sense; she was still a teenager at heart. She was lost in her own emotions. The only difference? She had someone to save her: Klaus. Tyler had no one at all. Not here and not back home. All he had? Chasing after a vampire who'd flipped the switch. It wasn't a glamorous existence by far. Still, he kept after her, even now. Even when he didn't need to be around her anymore, he'd texted her to come. Right then, as sad and pathetic as it might appear, they were all each other had at the moment. Maybe for a good long while too.

Elena let out a bitter laugh in return. She hadn't really expected him to go all weepy eyed on her with the sentiment. His reaction was really along the lines of what she'd expected when she said it. As bitter as her own responding laugh had been. "It starts loosing it's splendor after the first ten times you hear it," she replied quietly. "It's just words after awhile." She couldn't tell him how many times she'd heard it over the last year alone and how, no matter what, she just kept on hearing it. Death was something she'd never, ever stop, especially from affecting the ones she loved the most. "Something to fill awkward space..." Because people really didn't know what to say about death or how to act. Protocol was necessary, a standard outline of what should be done, grieving and planning, but it never erased the awkwardness that came with those words. "I'm sorry".

She reached for her recently refilled drink, but the feel of his fingers on her arm stopped her. They wrapped around her small wrist, tightening a bit, but not hard enough to cause her any pain. There was no intent to scare her or intimidate her now. Rather, it was more of holding on to something, someone, as a last lifeline. His brown eyes seemed to beg her for a distraction, something that would take his mind, however briefly, off Caroline and Klaus, but also about destroying this entire place in his rage. He was right; he had a short fuse. It wasn't going to be pretty one little bit.

Pushing back her bar stool, the vampire stood and tugged her wrist free, breaking contact only briefly in favor of his hand instead. "I like this song. So, we are dancing to it, okay?" It might have been posed as a question, but Elena had already tugged him off to the floor with all her vampire strength.

There was truth to what she had said; you could only hear 'I'm sorry for your loss' a very finite number of times before it lost any and all meaning. Tyler had gone through it when his father passed away...and it had only been even more so with his mother. He hadn't been able to sit there and pretend that things were okay. He hadn't wanted to hear the cliché of time healing all wounds. In that moment, he realized just how much Elena had been through, what a bonding experience pain and loss could be. He wouldn't have wished on her; not ever, but he also couldn't change what had happened. Swallowing, a nod of his head followed...death made everything awkward, people didn't know how to act around you, what to say, outside of following all the guidelines that had been seemingly passed down. He understand completely why she had turned her emotions off to begin with. If anyone had the right, it had been Elena. It was almost ironic that by trying to help her, he had managed to save himself. Because without her there right now If he was dealing with what was happening between Klaus and Caroline alone? The results would have been totally different.

Her hand grasping his was firm, so were the words that accompanied the action. “You want to dance?” If he thought it was something that was just being done out of pity, because she felt bad for the guy with anger issues, he would have bluntly refused and pulled away from her entirely. But that wasn't it. There was more to it. Being attracted to Elena was nothing new; at least on a physical level...something else had been developing lately on his end, even if she had the switch flipped. He cared about her; had tried to ignore the thoughts of what her lips would taste like, or how she would fit against him. It was harder to pretend as if those things had never existed when she was pulling him across the floor. People tended to give them a decent birth; maybe because they just respected privacy, or maybe because they could sense there was something different about the two of them. Vampires had a certain presence to them; and Tyler's could be even more intense just from being a hybrid.

She was still having the desired effect; his heart was thumping just as wildly before, maybe more so, but the anger had dissipated just a touch. Focusing on her was good and bad; it took his mind off what Caroline could have been doing right then...but it also forced him to confront the fact that his intentions with Elena weren't platonic. He had been trying to help her; trying to show her what she was missing out on when her emotions were off...but he wasn't some knight riding in on a perfect white steed. It wasn't all just some selfless act. He wanted things; and he was starting to realize, he wanted her Stepping in closer once they had a little distance between where they had been seated at the bar, Tyler looked down at her, dark eyes searching her expression for a long moment. The words that had gone unsaid had created an almost palpable feeling between them. “We'll dance...” A pause, he leaned in closer, taking in a small death. “But you're coming back with me later.” It wasn't a request; he was stating a fact...it didn't even mean anything was going to happen. He just knew that he wasn't going to be apart from Elena.

People shifted away from them automatically; as if they were magnets, but the opposites didn't attract, repelling all the others instead. If this was hell, it certainly didn't feel like it at the moment, at least not between the two of them. Elena settled a hand on his shoulder and took his other in her cold, pale fingers. Slowly, but in time with the beat, the brunette led, shifting hers hips perfectly with the song. She couldn't remember the last time she'd danced with Tyler Lockwood. Maybe it had been at one of those awkward junior high dances? It would make sense. After that, she'd pretty much been Matt's girl and the majority of the time, Elena danced with the quarterback. After that? It'd been Stefan and Damon mostly. By that time, Tyler was with Caroline and his attention was obviously and rightfully focused elsewhere.

Now, none of those people or factors seemed to apply anymore, did they? Caroline was with Klaus; Damon and Stefan were somewhere. Matt wasn't around. It was just them. Just Tyler and Elena. Two people who'd never thought they'd end up as anything, but the awkward dance partners they might have been so many years ago as adolescents. Everything changed though and now, somehow, they fit in ways they had never fit before. It was comforting, strangely when she knew she should have been alarmed. When her emotions were flipped, it was fun playing with him, pushing his big, obvious buttons, but that wasn't the case anymore, was it?

She knew he felt it too; the way he looked at her with his bottomless dark eyes. Maybe he'd been out for all the good intentions in the world at the start of all of this, but it wasn't like that anymore. She felt it, the way he held her hand, pulled her close, and took a small breath. She heard it in his heart beat, rattling around wildly in his chest. If Elena had been human, she'd have felt a lot like him right then. They'd always been friends somewhat; the truth was? Tyler and Elena just couldn't be friends anymore. The vampire squeezed his hand.

"I am, am I?" she replied, a bit of surprise evident in her voice. "Maybe I have plans." She didn't and even if she did, she probably would have foregone all of them in favor of being with him. In the moment when emotions were coming down on her in droplets and trickles, he kept her focused.

This was as close to Elena as he had ever been; there were...a million different reasons for that. Before, he wasn't the kind of person she would have been interested in, at least not when they were old enough to have an interest. Or there had always been someone else involved. No, in that moment, it felt like things were coming together, clicking effortlessly into place, guided by something stronger than coincidence. Her hips were moving perfectly with the song; transcending the music, to a rhythm that was only there for the two of them. It wouldn't have mattered where they were; at that point, the bar was just background and nothing more. Like it existed miles away, only the slightest glimpse that it was there at all. Confusing, overwhelming, perfect. He had never thought he would be swept away by Elena Gilbert; his desires for her before then had been...crude, at best. Lustful images that fueled fantasies he kept to himself. Now it was blossoming into something else entirely, wasn't it? And it wasn't unrequited. Another sign that her emotions were coming back. Just that squeeze to his hand, a small, intimate signal that what was happening wasn't lost on her.

“Maybe you do,” it wasn't arrogance in his voice when he spoke this time; but there was definitely a certain kind of will power in it. 'But you'd break them. For me.” Even just a year ago, no one would have argued if she had thought it was pure ego behind what he was saying. Tyler Lockwood always got what he wanted; spoiled, an only child...powerful parents, what he said went. In this case, that couldn't have been further from the truth. Elena didn't just bend to his will because of his last name. When he said she'd break them for hi...it was because he knew it was the truth. His hand was on the small of her back and he pushed her gently towards him, swallowing up a tiny bit more distance. She'd break them because they were all each other had; Jeremy was there now, but he knew if she spent more time with her brother because she was ready, the flood gates were going to come crashing down and it would leave her a sobbing mess on the floor. He had been there; when you felt so broken that you didn't want to move, you didn't want to do anything...it took all your strength just to live. To have a will to live.

And it was his own selfishness too; without her, he was just as likely to go back to the apartment and destroy everything in sight. Or run out into the night air and let the change happen. Free the wolf inside of him that was desperate to get out; to open its jaws and howl. Tyler...wanted to howl for completely different reasons when it came to Elena. He turned his head, his cheek lightly brushing against her forehead...anything for a little contact, just a hint to satisfying the longing that had been building. Even in the smoke filled room, her scent was the strongest, and when he breathed it in, he felt like his head was spinning. Waiting for the right time. “Because you know I would for you.” Tilting his head, his lips were closer to her ear. It was different...that feeling of being possessed to say something, that you might burst if you weren't able to get it out. The intensity. “It wasn't just a game.” He knew, with the switch flipped, she had enjoyed the thrill...pushing his buttons, setting him off. The predator and the prey. “I broke the door down because I had to see you. I needed to.”

She would. There really wasn't a question at all, was there? In this supposed hell they currently resided in, Tyler and Elena were all each other had and the vampire knew it. If she went back home, she'd sit and think. It wouldn't be long then till thoughts, memories, and actions brought the emotions that hinged on everything. In no time at all, she'd be a wreck; a sobbing mess on the floor. Now, she was strangely calm, the emotions held back and at bay by a bit of booze and a focus on Tyler Lockwood. All the others? They were judge. Him? He wouldn't because some part of him understood her and why she'd found it so easy to flip the switch in the first place.

"I guess I could take pity on you...for a night," she replied with a small shrug of her shoulders; a bit of a playful smile tugged at her lips and mild amusement was visible in her brown eyes. It wasn't pity. They both knew it. There was nowhere else Elena would rather be than with Tyler Lockwood right now and it was the same for him. Somehow, she'd gone from pushing him to lose control, to suddenly being the only reason he still had any at all. There was no doubt in her mind he would have wrecked this place, maybe even allowed the transition to happen in order to escape his overwhelming grief. If she hadn't shown up, there wouldn't be anything left of this place and maybe nothing left of him either.

A bit of applied pressure to the small of her back and the brunette was a step closer to sealing up the distance between them completely. His warm cheek brushed her cold forehead, the brief and very much unnecessary contact drawing an unnecessary reaction-an exhale of shaky breath-from the vampire. She swallowed; Tyler's smell overwhelmed her as much as hers did him. She closed her eyes, finding herself falling easily and willingly into the reverie he'd created with a simple touch of skin. She inhaled deep; his heart outweighing the sound of the music and every other heart beat in the room. She'd never forget it. "Tyler..." His name slipped past her lips, a bit more emotion, a bit more obvious longing than was intended right then. "I know." It wasn't needed; she knew he would just as surly as she would for him. It was that simple.

His lips found her ear, the sensation of his warm breath against her earlobe making her shiver. Further proof her emotions were flickering to life again. It wasn't just a game. No. No it wasn't. Even with her emotions flipped off, she still felt that it'd always been much more than a game of cat and mouse between them, hybrid and vampire, but in her numb state, she didn't really see it or understand. Now, with feelings all, but working in overdrive, she saw it and felt it. Overpowering and intense. She'd never felt anything quite like it in her entire life. "No, it wasn't," she whispered back. "I knew, but I didn't...understand. I do now." So much she did. "I didn't just kiss you for fun..."

“Pity, huh?” Everyone in Mystic Falls knew about his temper; in high school, if someone pissed him off during football practice, they usually ended up laid out. There wasn't malice in her tone, though. Tyler knew that it was part of the game. The slight glint of mischief in her eyes; or the way her lips curled into a teasing smile. “That sounds like a emotion, Lena.” He wasn't trying to delve deeper than that; everything that had happened, and the flood of feelings she was going to be hit with, they'd deal with that when it happened. He wasn't looking to be the catalyst for it. “It sounds dangerously close to one.” Just a little something added to show that it was still meant to be fun between them. Fun...could that even be possible? A large part of him was still seething over Klaus and Caroline. Like a stack of TNT just waiting for someone to light the fuse. She was the needed distraction; but calling Elena a distraction and nothing more was an insult to what she had meant to him through all of this.

The shaky way that she breathed out and swallowed afterwards was a boost to his confidence; though most would say his ego didn't need to grow any, it was nice to know that he could have that kind of effect on her...especially when she more than did the same to him. He never imagined that Elena Gilbert would be the one to drive him crazy, but she did. It just never seemed like it was going to be in the cards before. Had she always been hot? Yeah, of course. Now their connection actually had a real spark to it. Something palpable. “You sure about that?” He wasn't questioning her, really, he didn't doubt that the kiss had carried more weight behind it than just a means to get away from long enough to make her escape. She didn't need to have her flip switched in order for him to feel what she had put into the kiss. Brief, but hard. You couldn't really mask passion, or fake it, no matter how much you tried. No, for that short moment, Elena had been his. And it would have been a lie if he claimed that it hadn't been on his mind more than a few times since.

His hand had been comfortably resting on the small of her back; now it had slid down further, coming to land on her hip, which was...as perfect a fit as Tyler could have imagined. Giving a small squeeze, she was pulled closer, until there was next to nothing between them. A bold move; considering where they were, but he couldn't claim to care if anyone was paying attention to them. The sound of the music and her voice could drown out the rest of the world. So did his heart beat; strong and fierce, pounding, for her...because of her. He'd never been good at holding back though, had he? He didn't really hesitate in things. He just went with it. If he wanted something, he took it. “Because I think...if it wasn't just a game, you'd kiss me here.” There was an obvious hint of challenge in his voice; why wouldn't there be? Testing boundaries was part of his nature; it wasn't some attempt to take advantage of Elena and her fluctuating emotional state. He'd been a dick before; but he trusted her to know he wouldn't go that far.

But Tyler also didn't leave things up to chance; maybe she would kiss him there, in the middle of the bar, out in the open...he just didn't plan to leave that on her shoulders. He wasn't submissive; he didn't wait for others to act in order to gauge what he wanted to do. He just did it. Tilting his head, he leaned in, stopping right before their lips met. It was torture, that small pause, but it was to prove a point, in some ways. To show her that he was in control; he was doing this because he wanted to. Another squeeze of her hips and then he leaned in even more. It was slower than the first kiss they met; lips only just brushing across one another, staying like that for a few seconds that felt like an eternity...and then deeper, more contact. Demanding. Let someone stand and look at them. It didn't matter, he wasn't going to stop.

Her fingers slid from his shoulder, the perfectly manicured nail of her index finger poked him boldly in the chest, a bit of a playful grin forming on her own lips as she spoke. "And you are dangerously close to having a basket of cheese sticks and another drink. All. By. Yourself," she replied smoothly. She leaned in just an inch closer when she said it, more of a whisper of anything, but there was weight, just no truth to her words. Leaving meant thinking and right now, Tyler was stopping those more rational thoughts from entering her mind. He was more than a distraction; he was helping and Elena was grateful for it. Plus, there was just something about the hybrid, the way he looked at her with hard, penetrating brown eyes. The way he seemed to eat her up with his gaze. It was a new feeling, a rather exciting one that she realized even with her switch flipped, she'd felt before, when he was chasing her down in New York.

"Pretty positive. I think I know myself and what I'm capable of," she continued with a small smile. "I'm a girl that knows her own mind." She was stubborn, strong to a fault at times, and when she wanted something, she rarely backed down from obtaining it. When she made up her mind to do something, she did it. Period. When the Salvatores tried to keep her out of danger, she ran right into it, determined to help even if she was putting herself up for capture and possible death in the end. Elena couldn't help it. It was who she was and she knew Tyler was the same way. The hybrid didn't give up on something he wanted either. He walked his own path, did his own thing, and didn't look back...mostly. It was admirable if it hadn't damaged her best friend in the process. Then again, what was she doing? Dancing with her friend's boyfriend? Or was it ex? She didn't know. She'd kissed him with her humanity off, but at least there, she'd have a viable excuse. Even if they weren't dangerously dirty dancing close, they were close and her emotions were on, possible overdrive, too. She was feeling things for him and they weren't all friendly ones; she was pretty sure he was feeling the same way, friends aside.

The heat from his hand flitted down from the small of her back and along the curve, it came to rest on her hip. His fingers clenched, not hard, on the bone, but it was enough to make her take another sharp, unnecessary breath. "And what the hell-" He tugged her in suddenly, his body pressed firmly against hers and the only thing separating them was their thin layers of clothing. She could feel his heart now, beating perfecting where her own once did fierce and strong. The heat poured off of him onto her, bleeding through shirt, her jeans, everywhere, and now, they really were dirty dancing and if Caroline walked in, they were really breaking all the rules, no excuses and sadly, no guilt or regret on her part or hers.

His challenge took her by surprise. Could she kiss him here, with prying eyes and obvious stares? Did she want to? One look in those eyes, a flicker to his lips, and the feel of his heart made her realize it'd been an instant "yes" all along. "Oh really? You have no tact, Lockwood," she managed, a tad bit of a tremor in her voice, "Not at all." Step back. Walk away. No. Because discreetly or not, Elena had made up her mind a long time ago that she was staying with him. That there was no place she wanted to be more than with Tyler fucking Lockwood.

He leaned in, lips paused briefly above her own, but she could still feel his breath, uneven, ghosting on the sensitive skin. "Tyler fucking Lockwood, what are you doing?" She knew. It was a second really, but Elena felt like it had to be an eternity. She wanted that kiss, the feel, because she'd been thinking about before too, more than she'd admit to. "You going to close your eyes and pretend or are you actually going to grow a pair-" Those hands squeezed her hips, then his lips brushed hers. He deepened it, demanding, more powerful and commanding than any kiss she'd had. The vampire kissed him back hard. Pushing her tongue between her lips, she used her vampire speed, instantly blurring them to the nearest wall and slamming him against it.

He knew how it would look to anyone who knew them if they came upon what was happening; there would be no denying it, no making excuses, not when the truth was so obvious. The way that they danced so close; bodies moving in rhythm, pressed against one another. But the true story was the one being told by their eyes. Those looks that lingered; far more intimate than the one friends shared glances. He devoured her with a gaze; took in anything and everything that was Elena Gilbert. It was the strange dynamic with her; sometimes he felt like the hunter, and sometimes he felt like the prey. His concern should be with Caroline; he knew he should try to make things right with her...but all Tyler wanted to do was live in that moment forever. With Elena. Even without her emotions, she had been there for him when everyone else turned their backs. They had traded barbs; flirted, fought, but she hadn't kicked hi out. Maybe, even then, she had needed him in the same way that he needed her. Neither of them might admit it but that didn't make it any less true.

The kiss was more than the first they had shared; there was nothing brief about it...when their lips finally made contact, when he gave it and did what he had been thinking about since she showed up in the bar, he knew it wasn't going to be the last. Her lips were soft; lush and sweet, with just a hint of the alcohol that they had been downing earlier. She was just as fierce as he was; just as demanding, her tongue forcibly parting his lips, an action he was eager to comply with. It was easy to get swept away in it. To forget that this place existed at all. That anything outside of her did. Elena took him by surprise, though. A burst of preternatural speed and strength; his back was against the wall to their right, the force would have been enough to take the breath from his lungs, but her kiss had already done that. Who cared if any of the other patrons noticed? If they stopped and stared? None of them mattered, not in the slightest.

And this was a Hell Dimension; that was something that all of them had been repeatedly told. No-one was going to blink at what had just happened. A small groan escaped into her mouth; she had been aggressive without her emotions...but this was different. Even more intense; because he knew the same feelings, desires, that were dominating his entire being had to be flooding through hers. They could destroy the building with what they wanted to do to each other and even then Tyler wouldn't have wanted to stop. He had never been known for his self control, despite all the progress he had made. But he also wasn't submissive. Both hands on her hips now, he tore his mouth away from hers, a growl coming from the back of his throat. Putting strength behind the movement, he flipped their positions, lifting her up and spinning around so that he could shove Elena into the wall. He knew that she could handle it. He was holding her up with ease; shoulders pinned against the strong support behind them, hips more lined up, so that her feet were barely touching the ground. He buried his face against her neck; breathing in the scent, teeth skimming over her skin. His bite was deadly; he wouldn't, not to her, but there was an element of danger to it. “This is your last chance to run...” The words were barely audible against her flesh. His hands had moved down to grab her ass through the tight jeans that she wore; he wanted to go for more, he wanted his hands under her top, he wanted to feel every curve of Elena Gilbert.

Elena knew better, now, with her emotions back, she knew better than ever and yet, here she was, pinning Tyler Lockwood to the nearest wall of this dingy, hell bar. Her lips pressed to his, tongue forcefully between his own, brushing around every crevice she could reach and every corner. She tasted the traces of their drinks from earlier along with something that was distinctly his. Whatever it was, it had her hooked like cocaine junky. She couldn't stop herself from kissing him hard, hands sliding to his face, cupping the smooth cheeks as s he pressed every part of her against him.

Elena had been with vampires, but nothing that drove her to the brink like this. The edge. That made her feel wholly every bit of the vampire, the animal she was, and she knew all of it had to do with the teenager she was locking lips with. He brought it out. The wolf. It was only a matter of time before he flipped her. Before the shock of being sent into a wall wore off and he was taking charge again. Tyler was a hybrid. He was technically stronger, faster, and deadlier to her than she was to him. One bite and Elena would be dead unless Klaus was feeling charitable which was looking doubtful considering everything she'd done and her Caroline's currant dislike of her. But Tyler wouldn't bite her, would he? He bit Caroline despite his deep feelings for her. Then again, he was pressed against her best friend in some dark, dirty bar too. All bets were off and he was in a frenzy.

His groan sent a shiver down Elena's spine. She wanted to make him do it again, more than anything else. It viberated in her ears along with his pounding heart. Somehow he managed to pull away from her lips, a growl audible and a sneaky, rather dangerous smile tugged at the vampire's mouth. She made him growl like the wolf he was inside. It was different than the Salvatores, more freeing, more intense then she ever thought it could be with someone else, especially Tyler. Suddenly, he flipped their positions, Elena's back to the wall, a low moan slipping out as her bone collided with concrete. It hurt, possibly bruised for a minute and then healed instantly. Even if he hadn't been a hybrid, Tyler could have held her against that wall with just as much ease. Head tilted back, she inhaled sharply, his breathe, hot on her neck, and his teeth, dangerous canines brushing her skin. "You going to bite me, Ty," she said breathlessly. He didn't though. Instead, his hands moved to her ass, grabbing it through her jeans and she laughed. Last chance to run? Why would she ever run? It felt good. Bad, but good. "Oh really? Maybe this is yours-" she pressed her lips to his ear and kissed the lobe roughly, moving to his neck, and allowing her fangs to grow long against the skin.
