Tanym woke to a tongue in the face,and not the one he'd hope for. Half opening his eyes he saw Kirby staring at him with that pitiful I have to piddle look. Slowly Tanym pushed himself up, causing Kirby to hop up and run for the door. His eyes cast to the lump in the blankets next to him sleeping soundly and smiled. He carefully slipped out of bed as to not disturb the sleeping goddess next to him and, after grabbing a pair of boxers and a white t-shirt, joined Kirby at the door and let him out. Once Kirby was with his business and sniffing around at some of the new smells in the area Tanym called him back inside and shut the door lightly.
The table was still set as it had been the previous night, however the plates were empty, apparently a little rat had taken the liberty to finish off the food that the humans weren't going to. Grabbing the pack of cigarettes off the counter with his journal Tanym walked to the couch and eased into it. He was joined by the pup as he lit up and petted the dog who was more than eager for attention. He leaned back and let his mind drift, reflecting on the previous night. What was going on? One minute they were making small talk about work, and the next they were talking about gods and past lives which somehow lead to rolling around in the sheets- not that he minded the last part of course, but the whole thing had been so strange. Slowly he pulled the journal up to his lap and flipped past all the other entries until he found a blank page.
I had always thought it strange that I found myself enjoying the fall and winter months more than the summer, despite my dislike for the cold and snow. So have I finally found my answer? Something happened last night, and for the sake of privacy I will not elaborate in saying more than, I believe my eyes were finally opened and my dreams were so much clearer.
He looked over at the hall and smiled softly. He knew the woman laying soundly in his bed had been so pleased at him following his heart, those feelings that had driven him.
