SOPHOMORE SEANCE

Micah St. Clair proposes a seance in the woods with his classmates. Despite teachers re-emphasizing the ban on the Grotto only a few days before, sophomore students sneak out after dinner to make their way to the Grotto. Everyone is warned to avoid attracting attention from non-sophomores or getting caught. ALSO BRING YOUR COOLEST SEANCE CLOTHING GUYS WE'VE GOT TO SET THE MOOD!!!!!

In the middle of the Grotto clearing, Micah's thrown down blankets over the snow, and conjured two small tables. One table has lit candles for mood lighting and a bowl of burning herbs (or like, whatever, Micah grabbed something nice-smelling from the greenhouse). The other has a Ouija board and planchette.

Everyone who wants to COMMUNE WITH THE FOREST SPIRIT is asked to gather around the table and lightly place their fingers on the planchette. One person asks a question at a time, so as not to confuse THE SPIRITS. They can stay and ask questions until the prefects (hi Ree!!!!) determine that it's nearing curfew and everyone needs to go back to camp.

THE RULES

SOPHOMORES ONLY. No snitching and no party crashers! :(((

NO JOURNALS. We're setting an atmosphere here!!!! This also means that everyone is FORBIDDEN from discussing the seance with anyone outside of the sophomore class (although of course Micah can't actually enforce this).

TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY or get out of the circle! You're going to ruin the ~~supernatural vibes~~ they've got going here.

DON'T PUSH THE PLANCHETTE. We're supposed to be communing here!!! (That said, if a character is trying to push for a specific answer, just say so, but for the sake of fairness, I'll be limiting how many times anyone can manipulate the planchette.)

YOU CAN ASK ANYTHING YOU WANT. No making fun of anyone's question!!! Everyone's allowed to ask a ghost if there's anyone who wants to kiss them. :(

Ana's face is legitimately full of shock and surprise and maybe okay a little more excitement than is probably warranted. She grips Hazel's arm with one hand, the gesture almost eager.

"We are actually talking to whatever is in the woods!" she says, her voice soft even though it really makes no difference how loud she speaks if their entity is talking to them through a ouija board. Ana has so many questions but doesn't want to interrupt Hazel. Or offend it accidentally.

Hazel leans into Susana in response to the other girl's excitement, nodding in agreement and starting to feel more and more amped up herself. There's no doubt in her mind that this is real; she also can't believe they're getting to talk whoever it is outside of the Anonymous post!!

"Yeah, our friend!" Hazel assures whatever it is they're talking to. "We like talking to you a lot! But like...what is your species? Are you human? It doesn't matter what you are to us." Or to her, at least, but she's happy to speak for the group.

At this answer Hazel goes through a range of emotions - a little frustrated that that is not what she asked, a little sad because being stuck somewhere sounds really depressing, and a little confused just like Jeffy. "He could have heard me wrong?"

Cole's idea that maybe he just doesn't know what he is makes her nod, though, and she looks between the others.

"Yeah, I mean... I guess he can know he's not dead but still not really know what he is? Maybe there's some weird creature thing we haven't learned about that gets like... tied to a place so they can't leave? Or he could be something undiscovered."
