Who: EVERYONE, who's interested that is
When: Saturday night/Sunday morning
Where: All around Frye Island
What: THE HURRICANE!!!
Emily's phone pinged with Evan's return message, and with that all her fears were confirmed. It was true, it was all true. Max was on a date, he was dating some girl named Casey, apparently he had liked her for a while. Emily felt like someone had reached in her chest and ripped out her heart then shredded it into pieces. How could she have been so stupid! Of course Max would never want to be with her. What could she possible offer him or anybody for that matter? She took in a shaky breath as the rain that began moments before started to pound a bit harder. She was a gawky fifteen year old girl, guys like Max wanted mature grown up women, something she wasn't sure she'd ever be.
Emily ran her hand over her glossy hair that she had spent hours on as she gazed at her dress. The dress she wore for Max. She felt a single tear trail down her cheek, surely leaving a wet black mark ruining the make up Bethany had helped her apply. The teardrop landed on her dress, not making a sound and in that moment Emily broke. The floodgates opened as tears started streaming down her face as the sobs started to wrack her body.
This hurt, this hurt so much, this hurt more than Evan moving out, this hurt more than her father ignoring her, this even hurt more than her mother's indifference. She felt like she was dying, she didn't know what to do or think, she just wanted it to stop. She could barely breath, she felt like her insides were being pulled out leaving her cold and hollow. She curled herself into a little ball as she cried. Over the pulsating music no one could hear her violent sobs.
Outside the simple shower had been slowly growing as Emily's emotions became more intense. The wind was howling around the houses blowing the pounding rain sideways while several of the trees lining the streets tried to resist being pulled from the ground. Lightning began lighting up the night sky as the deep rumbling thunder followed close behind.
