The lights flickered at the Allen residence, and Jacen looked up and all around him. He slowly pulled his headphones out of his ears and watched as his computer restarted. What in the hell? He pushed himself off his seat and made his way toward the window. "Whoa!" From out of nowhere, the wind had kicked up, and the rain was coming down in droves. He had never seen anything like this before. Sure, he had heard about the awesome power of hurricanes, but living up in the Eastern seaboard of the United States, one didn't get to see many of these phenomena of nature. "Holy shit!"
He shut his window quickly and watched as all sorts of things began to fly all over the place. That was when he remembered. "Josie...." She was at that stupid party, wasn't she? The one that he didn't want to go to because well.... he was a total dork, and he doubted he'd have very much in common with anyone there anyway. Good thing too. If he had known there was going to be a freaking hurricane tonight, he would have tricked Josie into staying in too. After a moment of pure shock at all that was going on, Jacen dove for his bed and picked up his phone from his bedside table. He quickly speed dialed Josie's number (not that he didn't have it memorized, but it was faster this way) aaaand.... Shit. Voicemail.
"Josie! Pick up your damn phone. It's like a fucking hurricane out there. Call me back."
