Emily was leaning against the headboard of her bed strumming just a simple tune on her guitar. It wasn't to one of her songs just something to fill the silence in her room. She glanced outside at the gloomy day. She let out a little sigh, it was springtime, the rest of the town shouldn't be depressed just because she was. Just then she saw the sun peek out and one corner of her mouth quirked up into a little smile. She had been getting better with her power. She no longer had to shut her eyes and concentrate extremely hard to change it. It was a good sign she supposed. She could control it, she just had to make sure to keep that control even when her heart was broken...again. It was breaking right now, but it was crushing devastation like Max or even Jacen. She was mostly just disappointed. She had thought that she and Sam finally had their chance and things were going to be great. But just like last time, they were under the influence of something or...someone.
By what Annie had said, about people on the island having powers and maybe someone having the power to make people fall in love, she had to now equate a someone into whatever effected them. It wasn't normal or natural. Also they way they acted when they were together. Her nose scrunched up at the memory...talk about nauseating. If she was ever in a real relationship with someone, she knows she wouldn't act like that, no matter how much she felt for that special someone. Her thoughts went back to Sam and what happened at prom. It was what happened in the library only backwards. One moment of perfect bliss then it all came crashing down and it was awkward again. She guessed that whoever made them fall in love made them fall out of love now. But she still felt something for him, but...things were still just so confusing. She shook her head, dwelling on that fact wasn't going to help anything. Calvin was coming over in a bit and they were going to do one of her favorite things. Play the guitar and discuss music. Music would get her mind off of things...she hoped. She heard the doorbell ring and made her way downstairs, Irulan close at her heels.
