Who: Emma and Annie
What: a talk
When: uh sometime this past weekend
Where: Tibbits residence
It was a cold weekend, and the house was nice and toasty. A fire was crackling in the fireplace (courtesy of the past two hours of Emma's life) and a pot of hot water was boiling on the stove. Emma had pre-portioned the hot chocolate mix into two mugs -with a third sitting out in case Alfie came home- along with some mini marshmallows and whipped cream. Annie had something to tell her and she was going to make sure she had all the accouterments. Their last talk hadn't gone quite as Emma had hoped, so she was going to make up for it with this one.
She wasn't quite sure what they were going to discuss, though. Annie had said it wasn't life or death, but a lot of things weren't. It could literally be anything. And it was driving Emma nuts that she didn't know. She figured she'd find out sooner than later, but really...she just wanted to get it out in the open. She enjoyed knowing secrets, and being clued in on her children's lives. Alfie was making out with girls in his room-- something she was going to have to talk to him about-- Lexie was living on her own (again, finally) and Annie...well. She'd know soon enough.
Sighing, she took a seat on the sofa and waited for her daughter to finish doing whatever it was she was doing. She wasn't even sure if she was home. That was probably a bad thing. But her children came and went so often that Emma often never knew who was out and who wasn't.
