WHO: Eisen and Lexie
WHAT: A text conversation taken seriously, and New Years Eve cuteness.
WHEN: Late evening.
WHERE: The Tibbits’.
RATING: C for cheesy and cute.
STATUS: Incomplete.
Eisen had been right. The best choice had been to just let Rory simmer, and eventually, they’d talk and things would be okay. Relieved didn’t even begin to cover his feelings at the moment. He still had his best friend and he could be with Lexie openly and freely now. There was only one thing left to do now, and that was, by far, the easiest part that he could think of, and the most pleasant.
He approached the familiar house, hands in the pockets of his peacoat and a smile on his face. Years. Years he’d waited for this to happen, and granted it hadn’t come easy with people still hammering cruelly down on Lexie and the now-ended fight with Rory, it was here.
Snow seeped through the canvas of his Chucks, but he was a man on a mission, and there was nothing that was going to keep him from finishing this. He looked up at the second floor of the house, and with the freshly-fallen darkness, he could see the light on. They’d talked about this in text yesterday and Eisen wasn’t sure how serious Lexie had been when she’d mentioned the appeal of this particular idea, but that wasn’t going to stop him. Worst case scenario, she’d remind him exactly how cheesy he was and tell him to come through the door.
Settling his mind on what he was going to do, he reached up into a nearby snow-covered pine tree and grabbed two or three pinecones that were within his reach. Taking careful aim, he tossed them one-by-one toward Lexie’s window, a bit of a goofy grin on his face. If he was careful, maybe he could even scale the wall.
