Of course it hadn’t even crossed Eisen’s mind, Lexie’s current predicament with people being upset with her. As was usually true when he was around the woman, all the problems of the world were unimportant and he occasionally just completely forgot about their existence. When she pointed out that she did, in fact, understand, he frowned, feeling stupid for having forgotten. “Sorry,” he mumbled, not allowing them to progress any farther down the road to misery when they finally had the chance they’d apparently longed for, for equally long times.
Eisen had to laugh a little bit when Lexie commented on them being equally indebted to one another as far as kisses went. He nodded his head and let his arms fall loosely around her waist. “I’m ashamed to admit how many times I almost gave in and kissed you,” he explained. Self-control had never really been his strong suit, but he was amazed at how many times and how quickly it had almost failed as far as Lexie was concerned.
Smoothed things over with her family. “Okay.” Biting his lip, Eisen wondered if this was such a good idea after all. “If worse comes to worse, I can just hang around here until one or two, then head home,” he offered. He didn’t care where they were, so long as they were together. Of course, he’d prefer being at his place, but he’d take whatever he could get, as long as it was time with Lexie. That was, unless her mom didn’t think he should be there at all.
