Eisen was pretty sure he’d never done something quite so spontaneous before. He’d never been terribly athletic, so he was more or less amazed that he made it up into her room without falling and breaking his neck. Now, though, they were kissing and frankly, in that moment, nothing else in the world was really important.
Just as it had the first time they’d kissed, the rest of the world seemed to disappear and became far, far less important. He was there and Lexie was there and whatever anyone else was doing didn’t matter in the slightest.
She took his hand and pulled the splinter out and he chuckled and watched as she healed it with a kiss to his palm. “Thanks,” he said, sliding his fingers through her hair and smiling lovingly at her as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. “It didn’t seem right to me, you sitting here by yourself. And we talked about that whole pinecone throwing thing and I wanted to be spontaneous and romantic. How’d I do?”
He knew that he owed her an explanation, but to be honest, he really just wanted to forget about anyone who wasn’t inside this room.
