Ow!
Who: Villanelle and Lucy Mills
Where: Freedomtown, near the welcome center
When: Early Wednesday Morning, April 24th
What: Villanelle's big entrance
Rating: I'd say mild to high for violence and language
Status: Closed; Ongoing

Villanelle thought that her evening was going well -- up until the point that she had been stabbed. It went downhill from there. She staggered from her apartment and found a place to hide until she decided on her next move. A hospital wouldn't be the worst idea.

Before she could make her next move she was engulfed by a blinding white light and found herself in a beautiful, luscious green park.

How did she get here?

Wide-eyed, she staggered to her feet, clutching the wound to her abdomen. "Hello?" She called out in her natural Russian accent. If there was anyone who knew her then they'd have surely found her by now. "I think that I've been stabbed," she called out again, this time using a cultured English accent, putting a 'damsel in distress' tone behind it.

Lucy spent the majority of her days at the Welcome Center. What was a volunteer job for most was a full time position for her. She wanted to make certain the center was continuing to do everything possible for all their new arrivals.

While the center could often be a hectic and busy place, currently it was empty. Lucy sat behind her desk reading a book and occasionally checking the network to make certain nothing crazy was happening.

When she heard someone calling for help, however, she jumped to her feet and hurried outside. She saw the new arrival clutching a wound and looking pale. Lucy bolted to her side. "I'm here," she responded in a calm voice as she reached the other woman. "There's a hospital just down the block. We'll get you fixed up in no time and I'll explain everything. My name is Lucy."

Well shit. Now she had to think of an alias. Still. Villanelle was famously known (in her own mind, at least) to adapt. "Susan," she replied, still using that English accent. She didn't know who this woman was let alone where they were so she decided to be cautious until she got the lay of the land.

"Where are we?" She asked, putting wonder into her tone. She would have preferred to use violence to get the answers that she was after but she wasn't exactly in a position to do that, re: stab wound. She'd have to come up with a quick explanation - and something that included the older wounds to her face. Sometimes lies were best when they were sprinkled with a bit of truth, but she'd cross that bridge when she came to it.

She staggered and caught herself on Lucy's arm, clinging to her as if her life depended on it (it really did, actually). "You said that we're not far from a hospital?"

Lucy had worked with Xavier Memorial Hospital to arrange a special pager for her team to notify the hospital when a new arrival needed urgent medical attention. She used it then to notify the hospital staff she needed a team dispatched.

"Hi, Susan," Lucy said warmly. It was difficult enough arriving in Galador without being severely wounded, so Lucy did her best to be friendly and comforting. "You're in a place called Galador, and you're safe. I'll explain the rest to you once we get you patched up. I've already paged the hospital and they're sending an ambulance over to pick us up. You're going to be fine, and I'll be right here with you the whole time. Can you tell me what happened to you?"

People really were too trusting. In any other circumstance Villanelle would have learned what she needed, snapped this woman's neck and not had a second thought about it. But. She was mortally wounded and needed help. She'd bless this woman with a continued life in return for her own.

Still. Lucy had questions. There were always questions. Ugh. "Someone I love... loved me too much," she replied.

Lucy's reaction was a genuine one. And when she heard Susan's answer, her heart immediately went out to the other woman. She'd never been in love herself, but she understood how it could affect people. "We'll have you fixed up in no time. The doctors here are extraordinary."

"I'll have to take your word for it," Villanelle replied. Every part of her body ached to sit down, to find a place of rest. She knew that to do that was to accept death and she was a survivor above everything else. She reached a bloody hand to grasp Lucy's. What did someone say to someone who was trying to help them? The concept was alien to her. Still. She knew how to express human emotion, even though she didn't feel it. "Thank you."
