Repetitive work was soothing. The constant motion, the ability to put aside thinking and go on autopilot. Bartending was something Aberforth new intrinsically and he took comfort in being able to go through the motions without having to contemplate what this place meant or the vague mentions of the future people had spoken of in his journal. Pouring drinks, cleaning glasses, and wiping down the bartop was much easier than all that. He still hadn't gotten over the initial shock of having his mother and sister back in his life. After being so empty for so long his heart was struggling to contain all of it. It was wonderful, amazing, and he felt so much he practically couldn't cope with it. That paired with suddenly having his older brother, now younger, back in his life along with Gellert of all people, had him in a spiral. So it was a relief to be able to return to a routine as a way of coping. It wasn't the Hog's Head, and there was no Sidney, but it was something. Sure, his injured shoulder ached with it, but even that grounded him. He had yet to locate any vitamin e oil to help, even though undoubtedly there were better ways to treat such injuries here.
Rolling his arm and his shoulder with it, he threw the rag over his shoulder and pushed his sleeves further up his arms. It was strange to see his tattoo now with his mother and sister alive and well, as if two universes had collided. Strange in an altogether good way. Turning back to sort some glasses, he heard the door open behind him and Aberforth stiffened at having his back to it. "I'll be with you in a moment." he greeted, voice deep and gruff, trying not to be paranoid but unable to help it all the same.
