WHO: Remus & William
WHAT: Meeting for dinner.
WHEN: Slightly backdated to Monday evening after Remus finally let go of Hope. ;D
WHERE: First William's cottage & then Parking in the Rear.
RATING: PG
Remus cared about Helena Ravenclaw even before he met her as a sweet little girl. As a teen, she requested his teaching services once and, after that, they seemed to share a bond. It didn't hurt that Remus counted her parents among his list of friends. So why did he offer to meet with young William? Not only did Remus care for Helena, but he well recalled the gruesome ghost of Slytherin House from Remus' school days. Yet, he promised Edwyn that he'd make sure William and Helena stayed apart. The only way to do that? Befriend William. Still, Remus found himself feeling a bit sorry for the boy. He had a soft spot for children and even if William was considered of age, especially given his era, Remus worried about the poor kid's quick and total ostracization. Talk about setting someone up for failure. Of course, Remus understood the reactions. Did he and Sirius not nearly kill Peter during Harry's third year? Anger could blind even the most rational of souls.
For all these reasons, Remus arrived at the cottage William shared with Romilda on the very day his goddaughter was born. He felt badly for rescheduling their dinner the night before so he pulled himself away from the Potters. Besides, James and Lily were likely sick of him and needed time alone anyway, right?
He knocked and waited patiently.
