So are we hearing anything back on the Ministry or should we just go forward with that? I don't think I've been this idle in ever.

[Ward to Moody]
So we've not really talked since I got back.

Yeah, I guess patience has never been my strong point.

When you put it that way, it almost sounds ominous

The same has been said of me, though I have tried to school myself in it. With mixed results, I must confess.

It was only partly intended to be so. Though it seems we are meant to think of this place as a home away from home, I cannot shake the feeling that Flips we experience in the future may present more daunting challenges. Nothing without price, as it were.

I don't know how successful we can really be in things like that. it's kind of a core trait.

Ones in the past certainly have. It's a little unsettling considering how violent some of the first few were that we're essentially playing house and opening sweet shops here. I don't know if the first few were such a failure they moved beyond that, or, if it's just building on the horizon.

I guess prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

I would myself prefer to think it represents a change, but as you say, prepare for the worst even while hoping for the best. And perhaps if we learn to work with one another in peaceful circumstances, we may be better able to face such challenges as those presented by Love World, or like what I have heard of Salem.

Love world's the one I missed the second half of, but, it seemed a similar initial set up to Salem. I heard it was more successful.

What are you doing this flip?

In the end, indeed it did. But for all the good efforts of some, others acquitted themselves less creditably. But then putting aside the old enmities of our own worlds will alway be the greatest obstacle to working effectively as a group.

I've been focused on domestic matters, to now, but I too feel the need to find some form of useful employment. Though I intend to offer my services to whatever government we form, it certainly could not hurt to find some additional form of occupation as well.

I'll admit I'm pretty bad at that part too. But do you think there's a point where we have to, or should look beyond someone's actions for the sake of unity here?

There's always manufacturing, useful here, potentially if we can take it back.

It is true, there are some here I would never trust, given not simply their histories but the ways in which they have treated their fellows on arrival here. But if they would live in peace here, then I would give them the chance to do so ... but then I would also say there is a difference between observing a truce and granting pardon.

That's a thought. For my part, the main obstacle is translating the skills of my own time into this modern era. But though I am no master smith, but I have done some work with the forge.

I can see why you make a good king. Maybe that's a better way to be looking at it.

I've been considering carpentry. I signed up for International liaisons because the closest to what I was doing back home while still useful. But I'm wondering if it's really even a relevant department here where there don't seem to be other countries.
