Who: Sirius BlackUnwind & Remus LupinUnwind
What: Talking and cuddles?
When: Monday night I guess.
Where: Remus' room.
Warnings: IDK CUTENESS?

The rules said something about a curfew and not staying out without asking or having a guest for the night without getting permission. Honestly, Sirius only skimmed over them and he hadn't seen this Zeta scientist person yet so he wasn't entirely worried. Not that he would be anyway. Rules were always just obstacles to him, especially if they needed getting around for something important.

And Remus was definitely the most important. Sirius was realizing how few people actually knew about them - he'd only specifically told two other versions of himself - but that changed nothing. He definitely missed being himself and the way he knew about his life with Remus. There was still some guilt over what had happened but it wasn't the worst situation possible.

In no time at all he'd made it to Moony's room and let himself in again, already talking to make up for lost time. "I can't believe you agreed to go to this dinner, but Reg said she didn't care if I showed up with a few drinks in advance since she's not providing it for all of the Siriuses. Trouble or something."

Sirius tilted his head to the side, letting out a sigh. He wasn't entirely sure how to go about this - he'd been learning far too much for his own good about his alternate versions and their lives. This was a topic he would bring up again for Remus' sake, but for the time being he was fine to switch the focus.

"Well, I think only one other me has kids. There was some epidemic or something and he married Molly," Sirius gave a shrug, eyes flickering back to look at Remus. "It seems that in most worlds I end up...not living too long. And not having kids before that." Not that he was particularly interested in it anyway.

Molly. He honestly didn't know which was stranger. Sirius with Molly or him with Nymphadora. Both certainly seemed to spring from circumstances radically beyond anything that Remus could ever imagine in their world. He hadn't seen either of them in years.

And when Sirius mentioned that he didn't live long in most worlds, Remus suddenly felt guilty for ever thinking that the nickname 'Ancientfoot' was funny. He suddenly couldn't help but worry that his Sirius was marked as ancient because he was the one that lived the longest out of all of them.

He settled for not saying anything, but wrapped his arms around Sirius in return. He rested his head against Sirius' shoulder, and shut his eyes.

The more Sirius thought about it, the weirder it became. Nymphadora was his cousin's daughter and that's who Remus ended up with in some other world. Lots of crazy family connections just continued to pop up, the next always more shocking.

Sirilla told him he was the oldest, had possibly already outlived her, and that was how he got the nickname. He thought it was nothing at first but it turned out to have a rather depressing background. It was just something else for Sirius to not think about. His own arms returned the gesture as he craned his neck to kiss Remus' temple.

"I've told myself I'm not going to give anything away for you, but you weren't too happy when I last you." It was almost funny now, only in a dark sort of way.

Remus shut his eyes for a moment when he felt the light press of Sirius' lips against his temple. Even though their discussion was far from happy at the moment, he did feel safe when he was pressed tightly up against Sirius.

"Why's that?" Remus murmured in response, turning his head so that he could look up at Sirius. They'd discuss just a little of what Sirius' life had been like so far into his future. Remus hadn't pressed -- and then they'd both been younger, so there'd been no opportunity. But he was curious as to why Sirius was bringing something up now.

A laugh pushed his lips apart, one that was edging on embarrassed like Sirius Black might actually have some shame. It was rare but every once and awhile he laughed nervously at a situation. He shifted Remus slowly so that he could take his wrists and lead him over to the bed.

"C'mere," he muttered quietly, sitting back with his legs up, just enough room for Remus to lay with him. "I was leaving to go get Harry who--well, had made a remarkable name for himself. People would be interested in him and I insisted on going alone."

Remus followed Sirius to the bed, moving without hesitation. He slid onto the bed as well, letting himself rest against Sirius. He didn't entirely relax though, intent as he was on listening to what Sirius had to say. He knew that he had gone to get Harry. He knew that something had happened to Lily and James (and it hurt his heart just to think of it, their best friends gone from their lives for forever.)

Remus stilled a little further when Sirius said that he had insisted on going alone -- which made it seem as if there had been some sort of argument over whether or not Sirius should go alone.

"Why didn't I go with you?" Remus asked, his voice just as soft.

Sirius idly draped his arms around Remus, his back propped up just enough against several pillows. When he felt the tension, he started moving his hands along Remus' side in some attempt at comfort. No matter what they were talking about, he wanted Moony to feel all right if great wasn't possible.

"Because I didn't want you to." Sirius had a suspicion that a younger Remus wouldn't react any better to the topic. "There's no point in us both going. If something happened - if someone came after us - I wouldn't want them to get all of us. Someone needs to stay behind and help out."

The corners of his mouth dropped in a frown that wasn't the least bit welcome. "Plus, I'm reckless enough for the both of us. I couldn't lose you."
