Who: Adele Nott and Arion Carrow
Where: "plaza thing" and then their cottage
When: monday late afternoon
What: Helping Adele home after a vision
Warnings: unlikely

Adele had managed to stagger into a little nook where she could vomit in peace, leaning weakly against the wall. She didn't want to sit, she wanted to prove she could stand, but it was sapping her strength, and she found herself struggling to hold her toga in place as she slid down the wall to sit, managing to avoid the sick. Part of it was already stained with blood where she was trying to staunch the flow from her nose. At least her little nook was relatively dark and quiet.

Giving her hand a squeeze, Arion left the room, and their cottage. He went around back and stood there for a few moments before leaning against the outer wall and collapsing to the ground. She was going to die. He knew the date, he knew the time, and he knew there was nothing he could do about it. It wasn't fair.

He leaned his forehead on his knee and let himself cry. He hadn't cried in ages. He hadn't cared about anything enough to cry since Adele's funeral. But here she was. Young and beautiful, and dying all over again.

But he had to stay strong. He couldn't let her know how weak he truly was. Yes, she was going to die, but they still had each other here, and he was so grateful for that. Maybe one of the scientists knew a way to help her, to prevent her from dying back in their world...

"Pull it together," he told himself, standing and pushing off the wall. She needed him today, and he was going to be there for her. So he went back inside and got a small bowl of water. Heading back to their bed, he found her asleep. She would have looked perfect had it not been for the blood drying on her face.

Gently, he grabbed a clean corner of his cloak and dipped it in the water, running it softly over her skin to clean her up.
