Who: Remus3 (Colour, Knap, Blood)
What: Colour!Teddy is gone. So. Reaction from the Three Remus' who lived with him.
When: well, it's before party!Remus' entry, at least.
Where: Remus3 Unit
Warnings: Anger, Angst, Emotion, etc

For an unregistered amount of time, Remus had simply stared at the name plate of his Unit with no movement or expression. His eyes had been fixated upon the names. Remus Lupin, Remus Lupin, and Remus Lupin. The fourth name, Teddy Lupin, had been simply wiped away just as the fifth name, Nymphadora Tonks, had been prior to the venture to New York City. For a very long time, he remained still, as if trying to process it all. And then he turned, without a word, making his way down the hallway and casting a glance at every single name plate; as if hoping perhaps they had moved Teddy from his Unit. It would have upset him and he would have demanded an explanation; but at least it was better then the other explanation that was sending dread through his body.

Once he realized the boy was no longer in Zeta, he had practically run through the rest of the Compound, until every single name plate had been read. He had stared at the last plate in the Pie Block for even longer; with his vision becoming blurry.

They had taken him.

The one thing Remus had begged for in his writing was that they not take anyone else away. They were constantly taking people away and had been since his arrival. But this...this was the worst of it all; so far. James had returned to him and deep down in his soul he had known James was always going to return. But here... Teddy may return. But Teddy would never remember him. Not if he returned from any fraction of a second further in his time line. They only way he'd remember was if he came from earlier in the venture to 8700. But even then...they weren't as close there. Not as close as they had grown in the compound. He had become the boy's father primarily in the walls of the compound.

His little boy was gone.

Stepping into the Unit with a dazed expression, Remus barely registered that he was not alone. His eyes were cast down and as he walked, he stepped on a toy, sucking in a deep breath of pain. His foot lifted and he stared upon it for a few moments. One of Teddy's Christmas presents.

Teddy had just been there with them the night before; playing and laughing. He had fallen asleep on the couch. Staring upon the toy, he bent down, picking it up, and holding it up to his level of eye sight. For a few fleeting seconds, he just stared, his vision still blurry.

Then, however, the toy got chucked across the room. He didn't aim for anything in particular and he didn't seem to care when it smashed into a lamp. A howlish scream ripped from him as he rushed forward, hands gripping at the coffee table from underneath, promptly flipping it in anger.

As it so often was in the Compound, Remus Lupin was caught in the middle. He heard the muffled cries coming from his prone namesake on one side, a sharp contrast to the swimming eyes and silence of his brother sitting in front of him.

He wasn't just physically caught in the middle. He didn't have a claim on the boy like the other two did. One had acted as his father, raising him here and where they had been before, while the other had sired him. It wasn't his DNA or his teachings that swirled through Teddy Lupin; all he had done was been a friend and had started to love his mother.

He wavered for a moment, unsure what to do about the missing boy, before clearing his throat. "Bear's not here," he said, shaking his head and perching on the arm of the chair closet to him, ignoring the groan of protest. "He's gone back with Teddy." He added the bit as an afterthought, as if convincing himself that Teddy wouldn't be alone.
