Movie night!
WHO: Justin and Wayne
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: London
WHAT: Justin was bored, so he made sure he wasn't.
RATING:
STATUS:

Usually, Justin spent Friday nights with Seamus. Or at least that's what had happened in the past few weeks so when the plans had turned out to be for Saturday morning movie, he had picked up parchment and pen.

Wayne,

I know this is last minute but, are you free this evening? Movie, food and drinks?

Justin

He had sent the owl early enough in the day so that Wayne could have enough time to check his schedule and answer him.

The answer was favorable, but he wasn't too sure if they should go out of not, so he pretty much gave Wayne his address, mentioning that he had to come over the Muggle way as no one but a select few could Apparate in his flat directly.

Wayne knocked on the door to Justin's flat, shrugging his denim jacket off his shoulders, and with it the weight of the day. But it was going to be good from here out, right?

"Oi!" he called, loud enough to be heard but not enough to be obnoxious. "Someone told me there was free food?"

Justin opened the door, grinning. "Yes, free food and drinks over here." he said, letting him in. There was a box from Sweet Nothings, bite sized candy (for Halloween), popcorn and sodas in the living room. Of course the drinks were charmed to remain cold.

"You didn't have troubles finding the place, did you?" He asked.

Wayne shook his head, mouthing nah casually. He'd left half an hour earlier and had gotten lost twice.

"Aw, sweet, Halloween candy." He made a beeline for the tiny treats and grabbed a handful (maybe a slightly bigger handful than was socially appropriate).

And hey, soda...butterbeer and beer beer.

He shouldn't, he knew.

He also knew that he'd had a shit day and one drink - just one - would make it feel infinitely better. (Though, he also knew that that knowledge was probably false.) His higher brain gave up the ghost when the thought-train led to epistemology, and he went for a bottle of Guinness. It's not like one would kill him.

"Nah, it was pretty easy to find," he said casually, making himself home on the sofa. "Thanks for owling me, mate. I was literally going out of my brain from boredom. I always forget after Rhys weekends how boring non-Rhys weekends are."

When he had bumped into Wayne the last time, he had noticed the AA chips for sure, but had also noticed that he had chosen a beer that time too. Justin wasn't going to judge Wayne's choice of beverage, but there was a reason why there were only 6 beers in that crate and himself felt like having one or two.

"I can't possibly imagine what it's like, but I trust you on that." Having a small child probably filled a weekend quite a lot. He took a beer for himself and opened it before taking a sip. "How have things been since last time?" He wanted to keep himself up to date, see how Wayne settled into the wizarding world and if he could help, he would.

Wayne cracked his own beer open and took a drink to buy himself time to answer. Well, since last time, he'd:
- Had a one-night-stand that came back to bite him in the ass
- Gotten sober
- Had a relatively nice weekend with Rhys
- Just fell of the wagon. Again.

"Not a whole lot going on," he told Justin. "Work, mostly. Had Rhys this past weekend. That was cool. But I mentioned that already. Um...met up with Lucy Spinks. That was fun."

And it had been.

"Oh, and Ernie." He ticked them off on his fingers. "Hung out with Ernie, hung out with Lucy, had Rhys...little bugger got in trouble again for hitting. Too much like me, that one is."

Justin smiled as Wayne talked about Rhys. "I know Lucy's around again, but I haven't see her personally." Out of the other Hufflepuffs, Lucy was the one he hadn't reconnected with much. Wayne had been on the list too, but he was back. Or he was for now.

Ernie seemed very happy to have him back and Justin thought he should be ecstatic too, except that he had problems accepting it. It was strange though because back to their OWL year, Justin had been quite attached to Wayne but since then.. since then Wayne had left without telling anyone anything and now he was back.

"Yeah, Ernie told me about the Big Mac." Justin said with a chuckle. He had brought his best mate to taste burgers before, but not at McDonald's.

"Honestly, HOW can a person never have had a Big Mac? How is it even possible? I mean," he continued, "okay, living in the magical world is one thing. But it is ultimately the same planet, after all. Christ. But yeah, it was fun. Nice to catch up with people I haven't seen or heard from in aeons."

Not that he hadn't slipped under the radar on purpose, but....

"Plus, if mum hadn't booted me, I'd probably be zonked out on the sofa or playing ps2 and getting baked with my neighbours back in Merthyr. Good company, I tell ya."

Justin chuckled. "I never brought Ernie to McDonald's." He admitted, then he chewed his lower lip. "I introduced him to a bunch of things but.." He wasn't going to mention this to Wayne, but McDonald's just wasn't part of his life. He'd been there once and had immediately preferred a nice, good burger on the grill rather than a Big Mac.

"I'm not saying your Mum did the best thing but," he looked at Wayne and frowned. Maybe she had done the best thing after all. It sort of forced Wayne to take his responsibilities. "We should do this more often then, because I-" He didn't want to tell him that he hated being alone, but eventually he'd find out. "I like having people over."

"Well, I like being over," Wayne replied easily, clinking their bottles together.

"That whole not-seeing-each-other-for-eight-years thing? Let's not do that again. That sucked. Zero of five stars." Wayne took another drink - god, it was good. Why had he stopped again?

His mind flashed back to his conversation that morning with Dennis. Stuff like that was why he drank, seriously.

"So how's it going with Seamus, eh?" he asked, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. "Mister not-really-dating-but... come ON, you must have fucked at least once, right? He's a Gryffindor - I bet he's really aggressive in bed. Oh--" Wait, bad topic? "Sorry. Is that a bad thing to ask? Did I go too far? Sometimes I...yeah, people skills. Rusty."

Justin had shifted on the couch and was now facing Wayne, finding support on the back of it. He doubted that Wayne knew how shaken he had been when on September 1st of their 6th Year. How he had searched him on the train that day and had hoped beyond all hopes that he'd turn up at the feast.

"We're not a couple." He told Wayne blushing a little. Damn, was he already halfway through his beer already? "We're friends." Their close friends knew about them having sex together, but was it really something he wanted to tell Wayne? He had a flash of the last time they'd have sex and he bit his lower lip.

How often had they fucked on that very couch, huh?

Wayne shook his head, smiling. "Nah. I'm not buying it." He enjoyed watching Justin blush, though - it was cute. People like Justin had this unnatural talent of being adorable until it was suddenly surprisingly sexy.

Wayne polished off his beer and hoisted himself from the couch. "I'm getting another. You want another? I'm bringing you another." Not that he intended Justin to keep up with him - clearly Justin wasn't as practiced as Wayne was - but it would at least save them a trip.

"So spill. He's not all Graham Norton is he? I doubt it. Tell us all, then."

Justin sighed and shook his head. "You should." He said with a chuckle. He wasn't going to tell Wayne that he was regularly sleeping with Seamus, to him it would be a lack of respect towards his friend. Not that it was an absolute secret, but he'd rather keep it discreet.

"No thanks I am fine with one." He said, then when Wayne back he bit his lower lip. "That's pretty much the only one I'll have otherwise, well.." he paused a moment and smiled. "Two and I can't promise I won't be flirting with you and it could get awkward."

"Well no, Seamus is.." He cleared his throat and shifted. "He's a very virile, manly Irishman." he said, looking away for a moment. "I'm attracted to him for that reason."

"Oh, God, no," Wayne whined in complete sarcasm. "No, no boys flirting with boys, that's just, oh, god, no, gotta go." He rolled his eyes and plopped back down on the sofa next to Justin, handing him the fresh bottle to set aside.

As Justin described Seamus, Wayne's grin grew wider until he started giggling. "Virile? Did you just use the word 'virile?' And you're 'attracted to him for that reason?' You sound like you're writing a bloody dissertation. Come ON, Justin! I'm not freaking grading your answers, y'know. It's me." Not that Justin had had much chance to get used to Wayne being himself, at least the way he'd grown and changed in recent years.

But he hadn't changed that much. Honestly.

"So why aren't you actually a thing, if you're like, regularly fucking and shit? Is he - he's not stealing your virtue or some shit, is he? Am I gonna have to kick in his head? I can, if you want." Wayne was actually primed to kick in heads, especially in the context of Gryffindors, with what had happened earlier today with Dennis.

"Not awkward like that more like.." He made a gesture with his free hand but then gave up. Ernie would have understood what he meant by awkward, but he couldn't tell Wayne that it would be awkward for him because he used to have feeling for him.

He drank the rest of his beer and shook his head. "You are making fun of my vocabulary again, I kind of missed that." He said with a slight blush. "But yeah, he's all that."

"So you'll never believe me if I keep telling you over and over, huh?" He asked then looked at his beer, which was now empty. "Be right back." He left the couch to get a new beef for himself and came back, knowing it could end badly for him to be drinking more.

"We're still friends though." Even if he admitted to sleeping with Seamus, he wouldn't admit his confusion as far as his emotions for the Gryffindor were concerned.

"But see, I can't help but make fun of your vocabulary. You realize that most of the people I know back home don't know half the words you know, right? It's just so posh. It's adorable.." Wayne set aside his empty bottle and cracked open his second.

"A-HA!" he exclaimed victoriously. "I knew it! You are, aren't you. I knew it. And you say you're...still friends? How's that going, eh? This guy I know back home - he's an arsehole, whatever - but he used to say you can't be friends with anyone you're attracted to, and I'm like...well, I can verify that, for sure. I'm bisexual and I have no friends. But what were we saying?"

Another pull from the bottle. "Right. I was grilling you on what it's like sleeping with an Irish Gryffindor. Virile, manly, et cetera? Want to throw any more adjectives?"

Justin shook his head and blushed. "It's all about why and not the how." He said. "There is a level of trust between us that I haven't found anywhere else. And.." He knew he'd sound crazy because there existed in the world, people who didn't feel the same as he did about sex. "And I need this. I need to be able to trust the man I'm bringing home." he told Wayne. Justin needed time to build up friendships, time to get comfortable with people and he had Seamus.

"It's less complicated, for me anyway, to let Seamus in." He shrugged and took a few sips from his bottle. "Metaphorically and literally. I don't let any one I don't trust in here," He motioned around himself for the flat. "And in here." He added, bringing his hand to his heart.

"You got lucky, because I already knew you from before all of this shit that happened and it didn't take long to realize that you are still you." Oooh, alcohol in his blood stream. Now his tongue loosened.

"You keep grilling me, Hopkins and you know what will happen." He teased him, winking as he took a pull from his own drink.

Wayne nodded slowly as Justin spoke, somehow forgetting that sleeping with someone could also mean you cared for them. Casual sex just seemed easier, Wayne thought, at least for him.

Of course, where had that gotten him, most recently? Somehow he'd ended up really hurting someone, more than he'd even thought the first time he'd tried to get sober because of it.

Well, the most recent time he'd tried to get sober, anyway. That was then.

"Of course I'm still me, you adorable moron," Wayne said affectionately, giving Justin a light shove. "I'm not going to be a very good impression of anyone else, now, am I?"

And then Justin winked and Wayne shivered a little at the sudden change of tone. "Oh, really then?" he asked, digging further. "What could possibly happen? You blush so hard it turns into an actual sunburn? Don't be ashamed, Justin. Sex is fun, remember?"

Not that they'd known each other when they'd been having sex. At least, that Wayne knew of.

Justin had brought his bottle to his lips and grinned before taking a pull. "Okay, so I'm adorable? Where did that come from? I don't remember you telling me I was adorable before. You make me sound like a kitten." He said, then he chuckled.

"Oh.. oh no. I'm beyond blushing. You never knew this Justin because we never drank together and I had never had anything to keep to myself before. But.." He shook his head. "Keep grilling and you will never want to come over again. Or at least sit on this couch."

Wayne grinned and nodded, unconsciously watching Justin's lips on the bottle. Yep, definitely adorable. Adorable-slash-surprise-sexy.

His grin dropped and eyes bulged as Justin mentioned the couch, though, and Wayne lept up, knocking over his beer bottle. It was more than half empty, so nothing spilled, but..."Seriously? This sofa? PLEASE tell me you've at least steam cleaned it or something. God. When a man says he wants details, he doesn't actually want--"

But maybe he did. Just...not the details of where he was sitting.

"What surfaces are safe?" he asked in mock hysteria. "And I was going to bring my son here! How should I explain spunk-on-another-man's-sofa to an eight year old? Justin fucking Finch-Fletchley."

Of course, now all he could imagine was Justin straddling Seamus, riding him and making all sorts of noises. Wayne flushed.

Justin laughed so hard, tears were streaming down his face and his abs hurt. "Aww come on," He started, then laughed again, wheezing through the whole thing. "I may be a lousy cook, but I'm great at keeping things clean."

Poor Wayne, Justin thought. "Come on, don't be like that. Rhys is perfectly safe here. Everything is safe." It was true, Justin did clean up pretty well and was very adamant about keeping the place clean.

Wayne gingerly sat back down on the sofa next to Justin, giving him a side-eye.

"If you say so," he said daintily, then relaxed back into himself. "And you may be a lousy cook, but take it from someone who professionally prepares lousy food - nine times out of ten, the problem is heat. Stick to salads and cold things and you're much less likely to burn it." Wayne imagined Justin was the type who could burn water, but he didn't say anything about it - no reason to make possibly hurtful conjectures.

He'd hurt enough people for one day. Dammit. Why couldn't he stop thinking about it?

"So you and Seamus are doing the nasty, but you're not dating, and you're friends. Is that the long and the short of it?" he asked, only slightly intending the innuendo at the end. "Well, cheers. I apparently can't even have casual sex without hurting anyone." He clinked his empty (when had that happened?) bottle with the one Justin was holding, and reached for a fresh one. Third? He counted empties - two for him, and the one Justin was on. Not in it too deep, then.

Justin snorted. Not something he did all that often, but he was tipsy at this was way funny. "Since when are you calling it nasty?" He asked. "Because earlier you called it, sex and fucking but now it's.. nasty?"

He tilted his head on the side and grinned. "You jealous?" He asked jokingly. Of course Wayne wouldn't be jealous, it was probably just one more thing they said differently.

"Well," Wayne replied generously, "on one hand, it was the next euphemism that came to mind. But depending on your partner..." he pulled a wincing face. "There've been some pretty awful surprises, mate."

Jealous. Was he jealous? Maybe. Of what, though?

"I think I'm just jealous of your being able to sleep with someone and not have them hate you afterwards. That seems to be a particular talent of late, with me. I have the tendency to put my foot in it -- my mouth tends to get me in trouble." Wayne paused and grinned. "Yeah, that's usually when the trouble starts, when I use my mouth." He was proud of those particular talents of his. He cultivated them well.

"No it's not nasty because we're wizards and I cleaned the place thoroughly." There were still tears rolling down because he was definitely still laughing at Wayne's reaction.

"Hey, don't underestimate my ability to fuck up, ok?" Sometimes when Wayne talked about it, he had this feeling that the other man thought he farted rainbows or something. "I've have had my share of misunderstandings. The trick is to wait until everyone's calmed down and explain." Or lie. Or pretend that nothing happened. Sometimes that worked too.

See, Justin could say that he fucked up, but Wayne was still pretty certain that he could fuck up way worse than Justin ever could, and without even trying. Take Dennis, for example. If Justin were moved to have a one-night-stand, he could probably do it without creating so much bitterness that he'd incur the wrath of at least two friends, and make the subject of said one-night-stand cry.

"The thing is, though, if I wait til everyone's calmed down, then chances are I'm going to have totally forgotten what we were mad about, and act like it didn't happen. Then when I deign to speak to them, they're all like...what the fuck are you on about, mate?" Wayne took another drink and started unwrapping the tiny little candy bars, one by one. Closing his eyes, he popped one into his mouth and tried to identify it by taste.

Cadbury Flake. Appropriate, then. Even the universe was telling him he was a flake.

"So WITHOUT DETAILS this time, because let's not kill me with information here, I take it things with Seamus are pretty good? Is he your boyfriend?" he asked, putting a school-child emphasis on the last word, before singing "Justin and Seamus kissing in a tree..."

Knowing he'd have it coming, Wayne pre-emptively ducked the oncoming headsmack.

Justin wasn't surprised that Wayne came back with the whole 'boyfriend' thing again. He seemed convinced that Justin was hiding this from him, when he actually wasn't. His relationship with Seamus was pretty simple. They were friends who enjoyed having sex together.

However, it seemed like Wayne knew what he'd do before he did it since he ducked just at the right time. As if nothing had changed over the years.

"He's not my boyfriend." He replied, shaking his head. "And you should believe me, really, because we're not together like that." He chuckled and wiped his face with his hand before taking a last pull of his beer. "We're not even exclusive or anything."

Wayne chuckled doubtfully. "Oh, so you're having so much sex that's not with Irish Boy, then?" His question was hypothetical, mostly.

Wayne could see that Justin was extremely lighter weight than him, alcoholically speaking, and was actually pretty entertaining to watch. He was flushed and blushing and a little giggly, and it was pretty, well...adorable wasn't the word. Edible?

Justin blushed darkly and looked away. No he wasn't having sex with anyone else, but it was just because he didn't trust that many people that way. "Well, it has nothing to do with what we are to each other." He said to Wayne as he looked at him. "The fact that I am finding it difficult to.." He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "It's hard for me to let people close to me like that. I'm just glad I don't have to go without completely." He chuckled.

"But hey, now that we've gone through my sex life. Tell me all about yours and don't leave anything out. I can take it, I swear."

If this were not Justin, and if Wayne hadn't been drinking, he might have held back on the information about Dennis, and how it was eating him up. Still, he did have at least a smidgen of self control.

"Ehhhhh..." He whined, edging around the story before, as usual, jumping in head first.

"Do you know an unnaturally tall bloke called Dennis something?" He asked, feeling his cheeks flush. He wasn't that close to drunk, but was on the verge of being warm and comfortable in his bones. "That may have been ill advised."

Wayne laughed wryly and scrubbed his face with his hands before grabbing the beer he was drinking-- oh. Empty. He grabbed the one he'd brought for Justin, which was still unopened.

"I'll start at the beginning, shall I?" Wayne ticked off each item on his fingers. "He was pretty tanked before I even got there, so I did my best to catch up. He *apparated* us back to his, had some pretty energetic sex, crashed. I left without waking him and left him my number. I didn't return his call. Accidentally ran into him and tried to apologize. Ended up getting him so upset his friend the shop owner nearly threatened me."

Justin winced when Wayne reached out for the other beer, but didn't say anything. It wasn't his place to tell Wayne what to do or not. His face flushed even more than it already had when Wayne mentioned the energetic sex. Somehow an image of Wayne and a faceless tall man fucking each other wildly came up and he cleared his throat.

"Ouch." He commented on the story. "He was already drunk..." Justin didn't like the sound of that and frowned.

"So then you wanted to apologize and made things worse?" Sounded familiar. Something very... Wayne.

"Well, of course, my first instinct was to avoid him entirely, naturally, but this being an even smaller world than usual..." Wayne gestured vaguely. "It's like six degrees of separation, but everyone's, like, maybe two degrees away. Two degrees and a fuck."

Wayne fucked Dennis who was friends with Seamus who was fucking Justin. Three degrees?

"Anyway. Meant to apologise. Mentioned that his ex had been shitty - you know what happened with his ex, fucking his best friend behind his back? - and that was a no-go, apparently. He ran off, I thought to keep himself from giving me the arse-kicking I so richly deserved. And then the shop owner killed me with a stare, basically."

Wait, had that thing about Dennis's ex been a secret? Shit. Well, three degrees and all. You had to hold tighter onto your secrets, he guessed.

"I might have to downgrade my sexual contact to snogging until I stop wrenching people apart," he mused.

Justin winced. "Avoiding people never works." he said with a sigh. "Tried and failed." He had tried to avoid Seamus after that little misunderstanding and it had turned out okay after all.

"Never mention exes." He said with a shake of his head. "That's bound to come back to bite you in the ass and, just a suggestion," He added shaking his head. "Don't talk about this to other people who aren't privy to these things. He might not like the whole world to know. For people are ashamed of being cheated on." Dennis was a nice bloke though so he doubted he had anything to be ashamed of.

"Nah, don't do that to yourself. It's an easy fix." He told Wayne. "I know that I probably have no right telling you this, because we haven't seen each other for so long, but it's all about the decisions you make. Every step, there is a decision and just being careful will be fine. You're fine. Keep having sex." His cheeks were feeling warm and prickly as he said that.

"Oh, can I please?" asked Wayne, voice laced with playful sarcasm. "I'm so glad to have the green light from you." He grinned, settling back into his buzz. It was a nice, warm, comforting level of drunk, only slightly slowing his motion and speech.

"Well, at least I can count on your good judgment over my shit judgement," he sighed, patting Justin on the shoulder. "I always could count on you."

It was true. Justin had rarely steered him wrong, at least on purpose.

"What can I say. Nothing changes. It always used to be me and my mouth getting me into trouble. Now, it's just..." Wayne gave Justin a suggestive look. "My mouth that gets me into trouble."

"Wayne this isn't.." He said softly, scooting a little closer. He didn't want his friend to think he thought himself better than him when it was definitely not the case. He closed his eyes and sighed, opening them in time for Wayne's suggestive look.

Damn! And now he was talking about his mouth getting him into trouble and he had that look on his face, not to mention the way he was melting into Justin's couch, it definitely brought him back several year. His stomach fluttered the same way it had all these years ago and he bit his lower lip, trying to push back all these memories.

Aww, now Justin was biting his lip, with his big doe eyes and long lashes and his humility paired with that fucking posh English public school accent.

He'd have to watch himself, for sure.

"You're the type that'll have to watch himself, you know that, right?" He asked, unwrapping another Cadbury flake. "You're quite the catch. Seamus better watch his act, there." He didn't fancy having to beat up a cute and muscular Irish Gryffindor. "Not that you can't defend yourself, but having a wingman don't hurt."

Wait.

Didn't he just have a problem with this earlier in the fucking day? Making choices while less sober than recommended?

"I'm glad we're back together again," he said honestly, "you know. A chunk of us from school and some promising new faces. Things are getting better, I think."

"Why would I have to watch myself?" he asked, tilting his head on the side. Yup definitely having flutters right now. He searched Wayne's face, trying to read him, which was a terrible idea since he was kind of drunk and more or less tempted to snog Wayne right there.

But then Wayne brought Seamus up and he licked his lips before chewing on the lower one. "You still think I'm with Seamus, huh?" he said softly and smiled.

"This isn't what?" Wayne asked, only half caring about the answer.

Aw, he was out of candy.

"So, uh, did you have plans for the rest of that candy? Cause I dunno, mate, it doesn't look like you'll get any trick or treaters. We should probably just eat the candy." Not that he was up to eating a bucketful of candy, but no pressure to save any, right?

"Aw, man, Justin. Have you seen that one Halloween movie where the candy is--" something dinged in his mind.

"Wait, weren't we going to watch a movie? Not that I mind yammering on about everything, but we can watch and yammer, yeah?"

Wayne wasn't answering his questions and for some reason he thought it was best. Maybe he didn't need the answer to this to complicate things further. Because if Wayne started getting cute he might not be able to stop himself from snogging him and he could ended up in a mess.

"I have no plans for these other than eat them." He said, reaching out for a piece of candy for himself. "And share too, because I'll get myself sick if I eat it all." He chuckled and ate the candy after unwrapping it.

"Yeah, yeah we were. Wanna check out what I have? Just.. not Spiderman." He would be watching it with Seamus since they hadn't seen it all the last time. "But pick whatever, I've seen them all."

Wayne groaned as he hefted himself off the sofa to inspect the titles along the spines of Justin's dvd cases.

"Do you have..." He hummed, trying to think of a film that matched his mood, which was...drunk. And warm and fuzzy and comfortable.

One that wasn't Love Actually.

"Do you have Pirates of the Caribbean? Christ -- Orlando Bloom, Kiera Knightly, AND Johnny Depp? I think they made that film specifically to kill me. In the best ways."

Justin stood and checked one of the towers, grabbing one. "Here. I have a thing for Orlando Bloom myself." Johnny Deep not so much for his physical appearance, but he really liked him as an actor. Orlando Bloom was rather a great looking chap.

"I have Lord of the Rings too if you'd like some Legolas goodness. I think I have a thing for elves." He snorted and put on the Pirates of the Caribbean. Anything would have done it though, he wasn't picky.
