Darkness Rising [21 May 2009|04:59am]

Currently Casting | Casting Studio | Application | Rules | Darkness Rising RPG Community

"….Voldemort's powerful now. You don't know who his supporters are, you don't know who's working for him and who isn't; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able stop themselves. You're scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing … The Ministry of Magic's in disarray, they don't know what to do, they're trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere … panic … confusion …"

Across Europe the Wizarding Community lies in fear. Voldemort and his followers are on the rise, leaving behind a reign of terror in their wake. As his numbers increase, Wizards begins to grow more uneasy, increasingly choosing to fall prey to his Empire, out of fear, unwilling to stand up and fight.

In spite of the increasing danger, a small group of vigilante Wizards have begun a rebellion, daring to do what the Ministry fears to do; fight. The Order of the Phoenix is slowly growing into a force to be reckoned with, threatening not only Voldemort, but the Ministry itself.

Change is on the brink for the students of Hogwarts. No longer will they be safe behind the confines of the castle, unaware to the real dangers of the world. They will soon be forced to make their own loyalties known; a decision that will affect not only the rest of their lives, but the entire Wizarding World.

Amongst the darkness, these students are potentially the light needed to give the Order the man power to take on Voldemort’s forces. As both sides fight to gain support, one question lies: which side do you choose?

Charing Cross: Post-DH RPG [21 May 2009|09:02am]

Diagon Alley – May 2003

It's 2003 and the Wizarding World has come a long way since the Final Battle. Death Eaters have been tried and dealt with fairly under the watchful eye of the new Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt and a reformed Wizengamot. Diagon Alley and Hogwarts have been rebuilt. Slowly the magical community has rebuilt and healed from the destruction of Voldemort's reign. Most characters make their home within Diagon Alley as new flats and residences have opened their doors.

Charing Cross is a unique game where each month a new plot is presented for the characters. Much like real life the characters must react to current events as well as manage their personal relationships. Our hope is that through these small, short-lived plots players will take the opportunity to develop their characters and relationships with other players. We also encourage small group plots, such as book clubs, bowling leagues and writer's circles among many others, and have an on-going prompt list to help out with threading ideas!

Most Wanted Characters:

Bill, Ginny Percy, & Fleur Weasley
Parvati Patil
Oliver Wood
Aurors, Ministry professionals, Quidditch players
Hufflepuffs & Slytherins

New Plots each month!

Sic Infit - Harry Potter AU RPG [21 May 2009|10:11am]
It's 1998 and Wizarding Britain is a very different place. Voldemort controls a puppet Ministry and is seeking to expand his grasp into Europe and, eventually, the world. But he is not unopposed. There are many resistance groups working to keep him from accomplishing his goal and, among these, there is one that stands out from the crowd: The Order of the Phoenix.

Secreting Muggleborns out of the country to keep them from enduring the horrors of Ministry-run "work camps", the Order is fighting a losing battle. Their last hope lies with a carefully guarded secret: The identity and location of The Prophesied One.

Sic Infit explores the possibilities of what could have happened had James and Lily Potter stuck with Sirius as their Secret Keeper. What could have happened if Harry had never become The Boy Who Lived? What if Lord Voldemort had actually won?

Welcome to your seventh year at Hogwarts! A seventh year filled with mystery, wonder and new and fantastic beasts. Where you spend your time working frantically towards getting the best N.E.W.T marks you can, or working towards that one last Quidditch trophy before it's off into the real world. A real world filled with the daily trivial events, bills, friends, laundry, cooking and cleaning the dishes. All of which are important for a young Wizard to know.

Which is why ten years ago Headmaster Dohotty implemented a new class that would be held for the seventh year class during the second half of summer vacation. The first few years the class was an option for all students but it wasn't until 2024 that the class finally became a requirement for all seventh year students. All students will end their post-sixth year summer break early to return to school to take the class. Most of you won't be happy, but it's another month and a half spent with your best friends at school, with minimal teachers there, and no under classmen to watch over you.

Hopefully you won't be getting into too much trouble?

Year 1 (and counting) After Voldemort
A Harry Potter Universe RPG

Year One AV; Year One Authors; Year One Fans; Year One Cast & Available Characters; Apply; Game Rules

Two years after Voldemort fell, the Wizarding world is still reeling from the mysterious returns of the dead and is under attack but by whom? Random attacks on both Muggle and Magical targets have left both sides pointing fingers. The DA is reforming. Will the Order be next?

Kingsley Shacklebolt is the Minister but who is really pulling the strings? With Lucius Malfoy under the possession of a Grindelwald object, the Greater Good is looking less good by the minute. The Boy Who Lived lies in a coma that has St. Mungo's Healers stumped.

For 1 ½ years, One AV has been a daily active RPG and we are open to active, adult interaction for canon characters. Check out our character list! We have active mods, quarterly game-wide arching plots, friendly writers and tons of activity!

We are seeking active players to step into two new recast roles: Severus Snape and Fenrir Greyback. Applicants should keep in mind that we follow book Canon up to the end of DH but excluding the epilogue.

These characters are up for recasting: Rabastan Lestrange, Terry Boot, Greg Goyle, Rita Skeeter, Aberforth Dumbledore, Jack Sloper, Percy Weasley, Andromeda Tonks, and Seamus Finnigan.
