Things are tense at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rumors of Voldemort's return are being whispered amongst the students, voices hushed and nervous as the latest bit of information makes the rounds. Fear has settled heavily on many shoulders, quickly bringing uncertainty and mistrust to an already divided school. Who belongs to which side? Are there spies amongst the students? What will happen next, who will die next? Can anything be done?

The school may be safe from the outside wizarding world, but are the students safe from each other? The generations-long battle between the houses hasn't gotten better, and current tensions have done nothing but elevate the rivalries to a new level. To make matters worse, an anonymous group of four girls have stepped things up, creating a vicious gossip paper that periodically and sporadically details information about their fellow students. Details that only close friends would know. Details that no one is ever happy about having shared with the entire student body.

It's called Bavardage. No one knows who publishes it, or how information is gathered for it. The only certain thing about it is that it is another source of trouble and uncertainty. With the teachers seemingly unable to stop new issues from going out and the issues getting progressively nastier and revealing more secrets, the last, thin threads of trust amongst the houses are fraying quickly. Friendships are being challenged and broken, and new, dangerous liaisons are being built.

The general consensus is that the girls must be stopped: but how? The purebloods are getting snobbier every year, the halfbloods are losing recognition for their minds and intellect and the muggleborns are treated as welfare cases on scholarship from the British Prime Minister. The whole student body is stuck in a downward spiral, trapped by an endless ring of rumors and lies. Libel and slander are not punishable, but instead encouraged. There's nothing more important than bringing down anyone suspected of being responsible for Bavardage. People are getting hurt, and not just by the paper. With no one able to trust anyone else and constant fights breaking out, the search for the guilty is getting nowhere extremely fast.

There's war brewing, and not just outside of Hogwarts. Somewhere within the castle that is supposed to be one of the few safe refuges left in the wizarding world, four girls are playing a dangerous game with their fellow students. Will the school collapse onto itself, or will the youth of the wizarding world be able to band together and overcome the fear, distrust, and rivalries that are threatening to tear Hogwarts apart?

BAVARDAGE. Will you end up on the top, or on the bottom?

So we all know that Captain Jack Harkness runs Torchwood Three, that Torchwood One was destroyed in the Battle of Canary Wharf, that Torchwood Two is headed by "a very strange man" and that Torchwood Four is currently misplaced. Well that's all fine and dandy, but things are about to start changing. Torchwood One is reopening just outside of London and is now known as Torchwood 1.1 and Torchwood Two's leader has been replaced. Torchwood Three of course isn't any different, with the exception that Jack has been missing for a bit. The big thing is that Torchwood Four is back on the map, headed by the same person it had been before it was 'misplaced'.

It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time.

Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin...

Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team!

We're Currently Looking for: GWEN, RHYS, other Canon characters from Torchwood, Doctor Who or Sarah Jane Adventures, people for the Torchwood Teams, Civilians, Aliens, Bad Guys, and more!

Aparecium, the brand new MWPP game, is set to open tomorrow! But there is still time to get your holds and apps in before then! Or after, either way, we'd love to have you. We have three experienced, mature and fantastically cool mods (seriously, just ask us how cool we are), and a fabulous, creative and GROWING player base! And we want to add YOU (yes, you specifically) to it! We have a host of canon and OC characters available, most of which allow for a TON of player creativity.

Generally we're looking for Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaw boys and Slytherin girls, as well as alumni! Personally, I play Andromeda Tonks, and would be over the moon to see her darling husband TED TONKS in play. We also have both Andie's sisters cast, but they're missing their husbands RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE and LUCIUS MALFOY. Fabian would also be thrilled to see his brother GIDEON PREWETT.

So, yes, check out our cast list and apply!!! We'd love to have you!!!

PREMISE.
For the Christmas season of 1976, Zonko's Joke Shop developed a fabulous new product. Magical journals that were connected by an intricate network of spells and allowed their owners to write entries that were public, hexed private to specific parties, or private to just themselves. They were a hot-ticket item and the shop was soon flooded with orders, causing a rush to make more.

The Ministry, however, catching wind of the product, could see the potential danger in them. In the Wizarding World, with a dark and ominous power rising, an open and uncontrolled communication network like these journals could cause unseen dangers. They ordered a complete halt to production of the volumes.

Unfortunately, the damage had already been done. The journals were being used for innocuous household tasks, basic communication, and teenager gossip, yes. But the Dark Lords young followers had also seen the potential in the magic books, using them for long distance communication as well as, in some cases, keeping up appearances with the rest of the Wizarding community.

Presently, it is the beginning of the school year, fall 1977. James Potter and Lily Evans are Head students. The world outside the school is becoming more and more oppressive and dangerous. Albus Dumbledore and his Order of the Phoenix are becoming increasingly worried about Lord Voldemort and his followers. And most importantly, the disturbing interest the Dark Lord seems to be developing in Hogwarts and its students. For Lord Voldemort knows that the young wizards and witches turned out by Dumbledore will either make powerful allies, or potentially irksome enemies.

As the school term commences, Aurors and Auror Trainees have been stationed in Hogsmeade. They are to patrol the school and the school grounds, and keep as low a profile as possible.

While the students attempt to finish their exams, study, make friends, fight, fall in love, and enjoy their remaining time at Hogwarts (or suffer through it, as the case may be), they cannot ignore the dark changes in the world around them.

It all starts April 1st!

Now accepting applications for a new Marauders game. Set to open on April 1st 2008. Characters most wanted are :: James Potter, Remus Lupin, Ted Tonks, Rodolphus Lestrange, The Prewett twins, Barty Crouch jr, Regulus Black, Crabbe, Goyle and Amos Diggory.

The game is run by myself (Nancy) and a co mod (Maxi). We have quite a bit of experience between the two of us and are very fair moderators. We are friendly and you can come to us for anything, no matter what issues you might be having a problem with. We want a fun group with talented writers but people who know this is indeed a game. OOC drama will not be tolerated… NO EXCEPTIONS. Drama isn‘t fun for anyone unless it‘s done in game context.

Marauder's Magic

The Story
The year is 1976 and the famous Marauders are in their sixth year at Hogwarts. School is pretty much the same as it always was, except for the fact that there is a new wave of evil forming. A dark and sinister group known as the Death Eaters. Some of the students, mostly Slytherins are quite intrigued by this group and their actions reflect on their every day lives and the ones around them at Hogwarts.

Death Eaters are a group of wizards and witches, led by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who seek to purify the greater Wizarding community of Muggle-borns. They also strive, in achieving their goals, to create a new order through the Ministry of Magic and cause fear through the Wizarding community by terrorising and killing important officials and their other enemies. Death Eaters are recognized by the Dark Mark on their left forearm, a sign created by Voldemort and when touched causes all of them to burn instantly summoning members to their master. When carrying out activities under the guise of the organization they wear black, hooded robes and masks which conceal their faces.

Some of the students opposed to these Dark wizards have sided with the Order of the Phoenix, and their actions reflect in some of the ways that the darker wizards do. They are fighting for the side of good and wish to stop the evil doings of Lord Voldemort.

The Order of the Phoenix is a group composed of witches and wizards started by Albus Dumbledore. This group is dedicated to stopping the Dark Lord Voldemort and his followers. They are a secret society and not too many know about them. The Ministry is a bit blinded by what is going on in their world and have denied that Voldemort and the Death Eaters are a threat. This is why the Order was formed. They intend to stop the evil that is inhabiting their world, attempting to take it over.

What if the Prophecy that made Harry Potter the 'Boy who lived' hadn't been given to the Dark Lord? What if a falsified Prophecy had been passed to him instead?

In 1980, Severus Snape overheard a prophecy about the person with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord. However, before he could hand over this knowledge to Voldemort- he was apprehended by Dumbledore. Knowing that Severus Snape could never betray Lily Evans, he convinced him not to pass on the Prophecy. Instead, using the knowledge that Severus Snape was an excellent Occlumens, they managed to create a false prophecy- one about the Dark Lord rising to power in the future, however, they don't say when. It is open ended, but the Dark Lord believes his only inside man at Hogwarts. He has no choice. Though he has been convicted of unspeakable crimes, he manages to disappear. He travels the world- studying anything he can in every country from Romania to Albania. Awaiting the day he will rise to ultimate power.

The terror stops. Lily and James Potter have their son, Harry James. The Wizarding World is at peace once more. This group of wizards that caused terror earlier seem to have disbanded. However, they are merely lying in wait. Only meeting in secret once every few years to see who has remained faithful- those who have not mysteriously 'disappear'. It is at the Qudditch World Cup when these blood supremacist decide to ultimately make themselves known. They attack the camp outside the stadium. They Auror's aren't quick enough to apprehend them. The only thing that's left is the horrible green mark hanging in the sky. While Tom Riddle is their ultimate suspect, they have no proof. He has not yet "Returned" from his study abroad.

When he does, Dumbledore is ready. The man who returns to Hogwarts to apply for the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor is charming, and brilliant. Dumbledore hires him on the spot- what better way to watch your enemy then by keeping them under your own roof? Dumbledore is certain that he will not run again, and if he is the one doing these terrible things, they will catch him at the school.

The year is 1995, When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. Mr. Riddle has, after all, been studying abroad since the 1980's, and is very knowledgeable on his subject.

Harry Potter and Tom Riddle are about to cross paths, For neither can live while the other survives...

Most Wanted: Draco Malfoy, Peter Pettigrew, Fred and George Weasley, Luna Lovegood, and Cho Chang among many others!

[info]one2ndchance picks up where omgharrypotter left off. It's Post War AU RPG set in 2000. The War is over, it's time to start fresh...or at least try to. Lately the idea of peaceful society has been threatened by the rumors of lingering Death Eaters and if that wasn’t bad enough the Ministry is in need of some serious reform. The new Minister’s policies have caused paranoia throughout Wizarding Britain. Innocent people are being put on watch lists, basic rights are being thrown out the window, and purebloods along with families of Death Eaters are being mistreated.

PLOT RULES CHARACTERS PBs APPLICATION

The students who attended Hogwarts throughout the 1970s faced numerous challenges. They found themselves in a world on the brink of war. Upon entering the school, some were taking their first steps into a magical world that was completely foreign to them. Others had lived in it all their lives and were about to leave the safety of Hogwarts to see what the world had in store for them. How will these students react to the world that is constantly changing around them? Who will they become and what roles will they take up as the times shift? It is in their power to answer these questions. We know a little of what they will do outside of Hogwarts. Let's see how they got there.

This is a canon school-oriented Marauders-Era RPG that does recognize Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It's March of 1972 and the Marauders are in their first year!

There are various familiar names and characters available now, including (but not limited to):

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

--The Oath of the Night's Watch, A Game of Thrones

The War of the Five Kings and its subsequent aftermath saw to Prince Tommen Baratheon, in all his youthful pliability, being crowned the rightful King. Meanwhile, Daenerys 'Stormborn' Targaryen from across the Narrow Sea dissolved the unrest in Slaver's Bay and prepared to make true her long awaited ambitions to sail into Westeros. It was not long before the news spilled into Westeros, whether by ravens or by spies and messengers. The mysteries surrounding the identity of Robb's heir notwithstanding, fealties were sworn and allegiances shifted as the West scurried to side with either the House Baratheon or the House Targaryen in anticipation of the Great War That Never Happened. Indeed, the Stags and the Dragons had been a blade's length away from the first blood spilt when the Wall gave. In spite of the fierce efforts by the Night's Watch, under the joint command of Lord Commander Jon Snow and Lord Stannis Baratheon, to keep the Others--and wights--at bay, it was simply not enough. Even as Wildlings lent reinforcements for the Watch, those who had been quick to dismiss the threats from the north soon learned that the Starks' warnings of old had not merely been fanciful tales as originally believed.

A temporary truce was declared by all sides of the impending battle for the throne, and the Others were once more driven back by the combined forces of men and dragons. The war that was placed on hold was reignited with barely a moment to breathe, the first strike hitting hard and fast for those still reeling from the War of the Frozen North. For them, the story was just beginning . . .

( It is now 908 AL. )
