I know that probably not many people are familiar with the concept of the old 90s horror film "Nightbreed" but I absolutely love it and I think it would make such a fun PSL or GPSL.
The long and short of it is that monsters are real. Not like, hot CW vampires, but these are actual monsters that can fly or turn into smoke or have extra arms sprouting from their chest or forked tongues or look like human porcupines when they transform. They sometimes have humanoid forms, sometimes they're too monstrous to pass in society. Either way, they are called The Nightbreed, and they worship Baphomet and the moon, essentially. They are an entire species that were hunted almost to extinction by humans and now live in hiding in a place called Midian, which is a really cool underground cemetery that is basically a giant catacomb. They have their own laws and rules, and they live in relative peace, but in fear of humans.
In the movie, a bad human leads other bad humans to them and a war breaks out as they're forced to defend themselves.
I would love to play with the concept of a monster who falls in love with a human and either has to keep their true nature a secret (to tell them would break the laws of Baphomet and risk being exiled from Midian) or turn the other person into Nightbreed to protect them. The monster would have a humanoid form but would also 'change' (they do this at will but also when they lose control, become too emotional, etc) into something more frightening.
I'd love to play the monster but could also play the human lover. Could do this as het, slash or femme, depending on how we wanna go with it. I would love to mix monstrous love with a little worldbuilding and good plot too, elements of danger and survival and fear and lust and fighting that inner beast.
