I don't think they know they're being broadcast. Otherwise ... they'd probably try to tell us how to fix it. If there was a way for us to do it from the inside.

But no, I bet you're right in that they don't know it. Like someone sitting on an intercom button. which I've done before

It is all rather disturbing, but we've survived this long, I suppose we'll continue to do so. As long as we're careful not to let such messages tear us apart.

I think most of us are getting used to it at this point. Honestly, I haven't seen anyone who's really SURPRISED by the message.
